The thing is that I am not "afraid" of a user that may report the above post (or a post with similar content) for plagiarism, because the meaning of it has common sense.
What I am worry about are the bots that scan the posts.
I seriously doubt that bots are reporting posts that have source link shared, no matter how you formatted the text. As long as you share the link you are safe, even if you copied an entire text and then just shared reference link at the bottom. Whether that's a good posting style and should rules be changed is topic for another discussion.
I have seen a lot of accounts in my regional section of the forum that have been banned without knowing the exact reasons in which they were real people, with only one account, and some of them were also helping the community
If they were helpful and good members of the community prior the ban, it makes sense to make appeal topic here in meta. If they can prove that their activity on the forum was overall positive, there is a chance to lift the ban. Just wanna warn you that chances of that happening are extremely low, but it is worth a shot in some cases. As theymos explained:
If you think that a ban should be ended, make your case in a new topic from a "good for the forum as a whole" perspective.
