Beat the BetBuilder promotion thread - win prizes from Sportsbet.io

Starting off this new competition started last week we had to move it to this weekend's selections due to the betbuilder feature being offered to these matches to the NFL playoff run.
But this thread will be for all future competitions in leagues from the NBA, NHL, NFL and any other professional ones requested.
So let's get it kicked off!

Here's the playoffs 2020/2021 bracket:

Some details of the teams being played:


Prizes will be given out to the first, second and third places who get the most wins on their betbuilder betslip consisting of 3 different matches on the playoff weekend.
Your bets must include a winner, total score (over/under), quarterback total passing yards(over/under) and number of touchdowns made by either quarterback via passing.
Tiebreaker will be determined by number of total passing yards being the closest if this is needed.
Posting a screenshot of your betslips for all 3 of the matches during the playoffs this weekend Jan 9/10th, is required to enter in the competition.
Minimum required amount for your betslip to qualify is 0.25mbtc no exceptions, so if your bet amount is not shown then your entry is disqualified.

Same here, no idea of how to play this but I remember taking part in a similar competition and winning at least one prize from the NFL. Will all future Betbuilder contests be in this thread also? I actually only do betbuilder for football (Spurs of course, and will be making one for the upcoming EFL final!).

Yes there are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at 1mbtc each.

i have some questions
1)you say we have to post screenshot of 'all 3 of the matches ' , but there are 6 matches, so we can bet any 3 , correct ?

2) will 1 mbtc freebet be given to everyone who wins all 3 betbuilder bets ? why is the top 3 leaderboard used then ?

Yes three matches out of the six over the weekend. This is why I had it set to three so if you wanted to bet on all the matches on the 9th for the challenge and wanted to have a second go at it on the next day you will be able to. Or you can just mix it up by choosing one or two for the first day then one for the next. It is completely up to you which six you choose from. This will be thought of for any future competitions in the other leagues so there will be more variety given.

Secondly, the free bet will be given to those who reach the highest amount of winning betslips.
So if there is someone who gets all three correct on the first day they will get the free bet.
If there is someone who gets all three correct on the second day they will get the free bet.
As mentioned in the OP there is a tiebreaker if there is any ties so to determine the winner of the third prize of the 1mbtc free bet.

Remember this is the first one of these held so we will see how it goes and work out any problems we might run into.

note: If there is just one person, they will get the free bet (only 1 free bet per forum user account), since there weren't any other challengers on the leaderboard to compete against.

Yes that is correct.
But it is not about the amount of the free bet as they are just that, free bets.
But the challenge!
We want those who are putting in their bets to want to win (which one betbuilder slip would be worth more than just 1mbtc) and not be putting in a random bet just because there is a freebet involved.
There are too many of those on the forum as it is and you can see those in the games and rounds section where the spam belongs.
Once again, remember this is a dry run to see how it goes in terms of participation by the community.
If there is marginal interest, then sportsbet and steve will continue with other competitions from different events and leagues.
Eventually if it goes well, then they will undoubtedly raise the prize amounts.
Don't worry about that.

The first match begins in 3.5 hours from now with the buffalo bills a heavy favorite to win it all.

I'm very bad at betbuilders but i'll still give it a go I just need one win to at least break even.

All of the games yesterday were very close so I went with all the overs and the favorites.

Yeah that was a good winning selection by dittoup. I watched the cleveland/pitts game and said to myself the browns really are laying it on the steelers. Even with the roth getting 501 yards in the game his team still lost.

Was thinking about doing one for the start of the new season in the NHL.

Personally I would love to see both a NHL and a NBA competition.

Think most bettors would prefer to have the option to set up the selections in the BetBuilder freely.
When you include player stats in the bet it gets kinda complicated unless you know the league/teams/players well. Moneyline, asian hcp, totals, would be preferable.

That is why it is called a challenge to beat the betbuilder in the first place.
If there weren't any options in the betbuilder required then it could be just submissions of regular bets to win.
And that's no challenge hence why would steve want to give any free bets for that?
If you haven't noticed for a betbuilder you could just put a winner and an over and under resulting in odds of 1.60-1.80x.
So the requirements of props in the betbuilder will need to be required to be challenging enough to warrant giving away any sort of prizes for being competitive.
Hope this makes more sense to those who wish to compete in the next one.

Requirements for your betslip to qualify:
1. Select one match from the links above which start 7 hours from now.
2. Create a betbuilder consisting of the following
1)Winner including OT
2)Total points over or under
3)Which team covers the spread
3. Must wager 0.25mbtc for each betbuilder betslip
4. Post a screenshot of each betslip

Now since there isnt any player props involved so to decide the winner, if there happens to be a tied in the number of betslips correct, we will be going with the one closest to the points covered in the spread.
As you can see from this option you can pick either team to be -xx or +xx points. This will be option used for the tiebreaker.

First and second places will be given 1mbtc free bets<-to be determined by steve of how many will be awarded.

Yes to both questions:
The betbuilder has them shown, for example, right on the first screen as cover the spread +4.5 or -4.5 pts for this option.
But when you place the bet it shows as handicap +4.5 or -4.5 on the betslip.
So they are interchanegable terms in this case. And since someone had already mentioned if we could add this option earlier for the bets instead.
So there you are!

You can bet the equivalent in other cryptocurrencies offered on the site of whatever 0.25mbtc is worth within 24 hours of when the bets close.
