The pizza is long gone, but does anyone else wonder what the guy who accepted the 10,000 BTC ($380,700,000) did with them and does he have any left?  Wink Wink

No one knows if that seller or the guy who had accepted that 10k btc coins had kept those coins or basically forgotten those wallet keys that he had.
IF he had still access then expect that they had already bought their lambos and own houses and all of the things that they do want considering
on whats the current price of bitcoin at the moment but it would be much lesser if that guy had sell off this coins when bitcoin is still playing around
3k-10k price in the past.

I had to look up this story, and at first, it seemed fake, but then again, there is no reason why that would be impossible. I ain't mad at that. It's still better than a lot of us who knew about Bitcoin in its early stages and opted not to invest anything. I really don't care where the Bitcoin ended, I want to know if the pizzas were good and if the delivery was on time.

I sometimes think about buying old computers at tag sales with the hope of finding a wallet.dat file on the drive.

You can read about "Jercos – the man who earned 10,000 BTC by selling two pizzas" here:

He apparently sold all of the BTC for a few hundred bucks.

Early Bitcoin pioneers are often not wealthy individuals. Less than one BTC is currently a life changing sum for most.

What goes around, comes around ... !?

Thanks for the trade BitcoinFX!

Excerpt;

... "What is Bitcoin’s value backed by?

Bitcoin is valued for the things it can be exchanged to, just like all the traditional paper currencies are.

When the first user publicly announces that he will make a pizza for anyone who gives him enough Bitcoins, then he can use Bitcoins as payment to some extent - as much as people want pizza and trust his announcement. A pizza-eating hairdresser who trusts him as a friend might then announce that she starts accepting Bitcoins as payment for fancy haircuts, and the value of the Bitcoin would be higher - now it would be backed by pizzas ''and'' haircuts. When Bitcoins have become accepted widely enough, he could retire from his pizza business and still be able to use his Bitcoin-savings.

Currently, Bitcoin is in beta development stage, and some new features need to be implemented before the system is well suited for real use. The system already works on the basic level, though, and you can trade with it if you want to."

None of us can know this. But we are not oracles in any of us. Under the conditions of that period, spending was made according to its value. If we knew 10 years later, we would all be rich anyway. At that time, I know people who bought btc and made a lot of sales in small increases.

I honestly don't know why I bother anymore ...

Life would be too boring if we know what lies ahead of our journey. Maybe the receiver sold it at some point and maybe at that time it was big time, maybe the person bought a car, paid student loans, paid rent or mortgage. Regret should not be a thing even at the current prices, even those who make you regret are having the same feelings but at the same time they are envious of you because you made some profit out of it.

He definitely went to yellow cab to go and buy himself a lifetime worth supplies of pizza and pasta HAHAHA, jokes aside though, I honestly think with that amount of BTC in his sleeves he'll definitely have a lifetime worth of money to spend on almost everything, he's filthy rich and I don't think you can spend it all on pizza  Grin

It's time of topical questions Grin
I know Laszlo Hanyecz was the man who bought two pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoin, actually he spend above 100,000 Bitcoin on pizza in 2010. But I have no idea who sold these pizzas. It must be a mystery like Satoshi's personality.

I think it has been long gone the one who accepted it would have been sold it when BTC gets pump back then.
We could all assume that it has been already spent out since we doesn't hear any other stories about it,
Because if the person who accepts the payment still holds it there would surely be another great story not just about the guy who bought pizza with BTC.

I have suspected that the hodler of that bitcoin have already sold most of the Bitcoin he have, Lazlo on the other hand might also be regretting what he did for the amount of Bitcoins he have spent, but one thing I can say for him is that he did a great job because he was one of the very first person who truly support bitcoin. He was one who gave too much value to Bitcoin in the early stage.

This might be unusual to happen but in the times of Bitcoin where there are very few who can see the value of it, it is really hard to use it as a payment method.
If you want to read the history and figure out the whole story, you can see it here:

No one for sure but I think he spend it already before, well if you really could know what will happen in the future even me wouldn't sell it if I could know that this would happen.
Well right now you can buy almost anything using Bitcoin a few years before you need to find users who will accept Bitcoin in exchange of pizza.

Kind of remind of a Black and white TV a family member bought over 20 years ago for fiat value that can't buy a cheap bathroom slippers today. He also owned a bus that would cost maybe $10 then.
People like the pizza guy would probably regret selling that much coins for pizza while my family member would probably think it's  better he didn't save the TV fiat money long-term.
