Firstly, I'm not sure what do you mean by digital currency. I believe digital currency is just the credit card we use if you compare these two digital currency is much better to use specially during the lockdown. But generally there is not much difference between these two. However since you created the thread on bitcoin discussion I assume by digital currency you mean bitcoin and crypto. I would not compare bitcoin to any fiat currency because bitcoin is not a currency, this is an asset. Also, considering the current situation, it's completely impossible to replace paper money by bitcoin, these two, both will give some some different benefit.

The adoption can't be done instantly and it's all need time. When the government started to realize how safe the digital transaction and started to issue its own CBDC and then it can give awareness to the people who didn't know about the digital currency. china was doing it and its civilians were able to use yuan CBDC issued by PBOC.
The government will play a lot to spread awareness about the existence of digital currency.

Paper money is still needed because it is people money that we use everyday in our life to buy our needs and needs. We don't convince people to adopt Bitcoin, we just let the society or trend convince them that cryptocurrency is better than fiat. Cryptocurrency is much flexible than fiat, it could be use anytime, anywhere without going out, which is recommended in this time of pandemic. Yep. Actually, same thoughts here. Upon reading the title, many of us are actually using digital currency already. If you can see it on the screen, I think that's already digital, right?

But anyway, I know your talking about crypto here. So on my end, we don't really have to convince them. As I've said, many of us are already using digital currency. I don't think it is going to be that hard to convince people anymore. We live in unprecedented times of change and technologic advancement. Many people who are alive never went through a pandemic like this one and yet they HAD to adapt. Same will happen with Bitcoin. The ones who adapt slower won't reap the same benefits as those who adapt earlier, but won't also bear the same risks.

I have figured out that skeptic people usually get convinced when the proof is in front of their eyes. Show them how easy and hassle-free is a bitcoin payment and they'll follow you. Show them how they lose value by holding fiat vs hodling BTC and so on.

That's true a lot of people are already established when it comes to fiat money or fiat currency and compared to the digital currency which is kinda new to them.

Also, digital currency is just not adapted in their country and they are not used to that kind of technology, most of the people would only trust the currency that the government is circulating like fiat money.

The transition to digital currency is a very long process. It will take more than one year and probably more than one decade. Plus, I don't think paper money will ever disappear completely. A certain part of people will refuse to use digital money or, for various reasons, will not be able to do it. In addition, natural disasters are increasingly occurring on our planet, and therefore it is not worth relying entirely on electronic and digital money. Physical money is also needed. People should have a choice under what conditions what money to use. There is no need to rush in this matter.

People are much used to the traditional paper money. Now if you directly insist on the usage of digital currencies, it'll be something different for them. Importantly certain group of people will understand it whereas majority just suffer to use. Everything has got its transition period.
