What happened to the "herd immunity" theory, that was proposed by the Swedish researchers? They were claiming that rather than imposing lockdowns and social distancing, if people acquire herd immunity, then the pandemic will be over in 3-4 months.

That would have worked, but cost hundreds of millions of needless deaths as hospitals would become irrelevant.

The flip side would be full isolation until we are vaccinated.  No death, but the cost would be hundreds of billions in economic loses and might eventually lead to another depression and death from starvation anyway.

Most governments have taken the middle ground, trying to balance public safety with the essential economy.  Like any entity learning how to walk, we learn from each attempt and improve.

Everyone has their own opinion on life/money, which can be applied to compassion/greed.  The differences between what each government does and the opinions of their population is what leads to unrest.  You can't please everyone.

We've been open the whole time (auto repair). In the beginning months when no one had an idea how long it was active on surfaces I sort of accepted that I'd get it and probably not do so well since it felt like flu-B was going to 'take me out' last January. I'd joke about it with my younger techs when putting up the chains in our garage

Ontario hospitals are now hitting the capacity they've been warning about for months.  The Health Minister made a speech outlining Canada is going to have to start choosing who gets an ICU bed.  Then the chilling warning: ICU beds are not first come first serve, and may be withdrawn, even if you are already in one.

They haven't yet outlined their criteria/formula for choice, but I hope it includes their role in the situation.   If you infected others, your care should be less important than theirs.

Wait until the 2nd round of vaccination.  They probably will be overloaded, or at least not completely vacant as they had been in 2020 as 100's of citizen journalists have documented all over the world.

Of course 99.9% of the vaccine injuries will be blamed on 'covid-19' (or maybe 'covid-21' or whatever...viruses are the go-to for blaming malfeasance on since it takes sophisticated laboratory equipment to study them.)

I predict that there will be a few token 'adverse reactions', but they will be almost exclusively doctors and scientists because this class tends to have the money and technical know-how to pitch a bitch about shady substitutions in the corp/gov medical, courts, and propaganda systems.

For a long time people didn't take all the Covid propaganda seriously. Then the propaganda finally got to them. So, they went and got tested.

The jokers were running a marathon, playing tackle football, running the hundred yard dash, exercising at the gym, on boat rowing teams, jogging in the park, skiing, skydiving, ocean diving, etc. But the propaganda worried them a little, so they went and got tested.

The tests are designed to make a person look positive. Even if the test can only find one virus in him, the test will multiply it into the billions, and make him into a "case." So, when all these healthy, exercising people tested positive, they had to lockdown in quarantine for two weeks. So, they get sent to the hospital to lockdown.

Pictures from the hospitals show people in bed with all kinds of tubes hooked up to them, or at least in bed all worn out and debilitated. What else the hospitals show is loads of "patients" with Covid. What they don't show is all the healthy people quietly going out of their minds for having to be locked down for two weeks when they feel healthy as a bull.

If the hospitals only put their thinking caps on, they would build gymnasiums and racquet ball courts, and charge they healthy people by 15-minute intervals. Make a little extra money that way.
