Been smart and watchful is very important when you are trying to take the advantage of crypto market, there are some altcoins that will recovers from dumps when bitcoin goes down, just buy such altcoins when bitcoin is down and wait for Bitcoin to recover to sell the altcoin again, there is nothing better than buying low and selling high
I agree, you need experience and the right choice. If you work within the time-tested crypto assets, you won't earn much, but you always want more, and this is already a big risk. So you have to choose between safety and greed. You need to have the right perceptions in choosing the right project to invest, if you are not going to fit yourself you will just find yourself being greed and lose your opportunities, it should be controlled and facilitate carefully, it's not bad if you can control it but if not it will be the reason why you'll lose your chances to earn.

I would say those type of quick returns would be great for you in the short term, specially if you are trading constantly, but if you are not dealing with it everyday, that looks like a lot of work to do and I wouldn't be capable of doing it. I am not saying it is a bad idea, it is definitely a good idea, I just do not think that it would be smart to actually go with that if you do not have the time for it or do not want to put the time for it.
I think buying at a certain level, and then putting a stop loss at 5% when it goes even higher is the way to go, that way if bitcoin is 10k and you buy it, but price goes to 20k, you could put a stop loss at 11-15k range and just wait for it to go down, if it is like this that means you will keep profiting, if not then you would still be in profit. I just believe small profit is just not worth my time.

Just wondering what your strategy for taking profits on alts?
Do you sell when your alts double against in USD or BTC? or what % to make sure ur safe from dumps?
When you sell do you buy more BTC or Rotate into another Altcoin?
the right time to take profits when the assets we have reached 100% of the initial capital. and trade again after we take the profits. and to save the profit we have, we better save it in the form of usdt because usdt has a relatively stable price until the profit we have reaches the target of 100% of the capital.

So you have to choose between safety and greed There is no way you can keep yourself safe without experience. There are plenty of opportunities in the crypto market to make a profit but most traders cannot take advantage of those opportunities because they do not have the experience. Experienced traders are making huge profits in this bull market while new traders are making losses. Because new traders are running from one to the other to make more profit so they can't hold on to the profit. Trading in the crypto market by controlling emotions and using inexperience has the potential to do something good.

I know many opinions have already been expressed here. I am giving my own opinion. I sold all my Altcoin when its usd value doubled and cashed out all the crypto. I didn’t want to take any kind of risk. I don't want to buy BTC or any other Altcoin right now. If the bullish market goes down in the future, maybe i can think again to buy crypto.

Usually i do not actively trade but keep holding through all the bulls and bears but that strategy has cost me badly in the past years so now im holding few coins that i have set a high target in my mind and once the price hit that level i will be taking stleast half of my holding out.

my strategy for profit taking varies from coins to coins & that is because every single project is unique, irrespective of any similarities it may bear with another project, the roadmap is a very good way to decide when to take profits. this is because price tends to rally/dump depending on which milestone of the currency is met at that moment in time. With this i try to avoid buying before a dump and selling before a rally of price.

I prefer to exchange for ETH, if I see the price of BTC going up, ETH must go up. As we know in December 2020, ETH follows BTC price movements and it's possible that ETH will continue to increase. 2021 be a boon for all of us in the crypto world.
I feel the same and ETH is the main altcoin that I'm holding. I don't care about all those losing projects because I feel like they'll all die eventually. Some people think the altcoin marke will continue to grow but it won't. 90% of altcoins will die because 90% altcoins have no use and no purpose. If some of them hit mainstream they're going to take all the use cases with them. The rest will remain a speculation or disappear and that won't be coins that are big or small now but those that have utility and are popular.

You are new to this forum. In a few times, you can't learn everything. Whatever, don't forget about the bullrun time. Don't hold anything after passing this year. But now you shouldn't be so greedy, just fixed your profit as volume and exchange listed. You know 5 times or 10 times profit is enough. Short term or long term never hold only a single altcoins.

This is a position even i took, i booked the doge coins i am holding when the price rallied when it was least expected, i booked my profit in the Ripple i was holding for a few years when the lawsuit appeared as you never know what will happen, i am waiting to sell off a few other coins as well but i am waiting for the right moment to empty my collection and then take my position about what all coins to hold in the future.

Yes, if you're talking about new tokens or altcoins, maybe holders are enough strategy. but you can get better profit if you have bitcoin for trading. but trading must have sufficient skills to be able to continue to maintain profit. btw, don't forget to take the profit and my advice don't take too long to hold it

in investing you need to determine targets, estimate the estimated profit you want to generate and also not be greedy. it is for me personally to take advantage of short-term investments when the price of the coins I invest in increases more than sufficiently from the initial investment capital. and for the long term I always prioritize the top coins in the CMC market.

I take my altcoins bags profit in batches because that is the best way i trade. You should trade your altcoins against the most preferred pair that want; it could be a btc pair or a usdt pair. When i take profit; i convert my profits to usdt and re invest the capital into another coin. Makes it easy that way It gives you the opportunity to grow your assets. Bagging your profits depends from how you fully understand the market, as long as you are willing to take the risk and you study how the market will work for you, bagging your profits is like harvestin the fruits of your labor, the more you plant the more furits that you'll going to gain back.

I don't have any strategy in trading, what I often do is look at the chart about the alt I want to buy. if today the alt that I want to buy does not change, I usually buy at the general price.

I only chose 4-5 altcoin which I thought were very good and would be in my portfolio. Ethereum, Litecoin, BNB and Waves are 4 out of 5 good altcoin in my opinion for making a profit. I don't like short-term trading or what is commonly referred to as day trader. I'm aiming for long-term gain that might be good for me. This is how I profit from altcoin, but you can still do it in a different way.

Immediately, lol..
unfortunately most of my altcoins are not profitable yet, I don't know if they are dead already or they still have a chance to rise, but one thing I'm certain is that they are almost worthless, I'm talking about the majority of my holdings that I bought last 2017, until now they have not rise yet.
I should have bought DOGE!

- My strategy is to make a profit, which is to buy when the price goes down and sell it when the price goes up. - Trades that I do gradually using little capital. - I am not too ambitious in making trades, the important thing is to buy according to the capital that I have

That's why I choose investing, where you can calmly think about your steps and choose a promising project.

Zara, I think like you, but don't you want to make more money? There are many interesting projects for which money is not in the foreground, projects that have an idea, which is much more important. Such projects will only grow in price, there are not many of them, but they are there.

We have different strategy to make profit from altcoins but mine is if the altcoins increased around 20% then I will take my profit just a short trade only and for stop loss maybe only -10%.. I also have some altcoins that I hold for long term, hoping to double my money in the future.
My bag is composed of long term coins and those short term ones.It cant really be denied that we are really aiming for that 10-100x gains on an altcoin excluding those top one of course but for short term then its always good to stick into those huge volume or those top tier coins in the market. Managing your bags would really vary on each person because we do have different decisions towards on profit taking. Neither it would be on 10-20% or would go after with 100%-200%, depending on what percentage do a trader would really be contented.
