Good to see that your family are trying to support you with your investment because sometimes they argue with you having trouble with the large money you will deposit still this is a good try and opportunity to earn. Instead, your money is just on the bank why not make an investment and let your money work for you and gives more money in the future. Still, be careful on the market movement there is a lot of rumour that the bitcoin will reach back again to 40-45k  but the problem is the market does not give a huge sign of surge is this the downfall? no one knows. Keep Hodl if you think there is a sign for another comeback wait for it if not pull it out already if you got profit or just fair back.

Its really great that you had the opportunity to buy at that moment but I mean they sound reasonable since $30K is already a big profit. The current speculations regarding Bitcoin is for it reaching $50K but you really have set the bar so high and I honestly believe that its possible but it would require longer waiting since I really do not see it hitting $100K this year.

Completely agree. Personally have been convinced many times in it. Others' vuew and thoughts are not yours, and may harmfully influence on your results and decisions. Of course sometimes advices may be really useful and may help you. But in case you hesitate and will make some decisions yhat will bring negative result your regrets will be very deep. And in case it was only your own decision and step, you will understand that it is only your responsibility. From personal experience - it was a good opportunity to get high profit and friend's words that  he is not shure that project is good make me to hesitate. But I wanted to risk and invest. You can not imagine how strong my regret was when I saw how the tokens price have risen after presale. Since that time I have decided to listen only to my own thoughts and feelings. Other opinion may be deeply wrong. Never hesitate in yourself, you may turn out to be completely right in your opinion.

i think you should not tell them about your investment. Because for them its a new thing. they should first know about bitcoin. once they get to know about bitcoin, its worth and profit, then they will be agree with you. but its a good thing to get ideas from family members.

actively engage with the market but for someone who do decide to play somewhat safer then holding would be the best thing to do.

Patience and belief are essential. Emotions are very hard to deal with in such cases. You get feared when BTC goes down and you want to sell. You get super hyped with the price increase and buy more. If you master your feeling then you get better at investing.

Yes, it sounds reasonable to sell at 30k$ when he bought bitcoin when it was on 10k$ as you'll have a decent profit through it but what he wanted more and be on bitcoin for a long term. Neither your parents nor your relatives are gonna help predict the price of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency where you need to sell your crypto's.
It's your bitcoin and only you can decide whether you hold unto it or sell it for a decent profit. It might take long for bitcoin to reach 100k$ but if you believe on it then nothing is impossible.

I've told nobody close to me that I hold bitcoin, just as I don't talk much to them about other investments anyway.

I'd rather not have their reactions and opinions rattling around in my head.

My advice is just to keep quiet and modest about it, and after all, it's only money, not some great personal achievement.

That's a very hard and not so good thing to do imo, maybe some of your family members might be interested if you share the idea with them, keeping things to yourself won't help spread the word about btc, I get it when people try to make decisions for you but you can always ignore and do what you feel is right,
I share some of my crypto investment details with my family members,  I also introduce some into investing,  it is not a bad idea.

But after such a steep spike, it is logical to expect a major correction and therefore I can't blame your family for their advice. Profit booking needs to be considered while you are dealing with volatile assets such as Bitcoin. This time your call worked well for you. But there is nothing wrong, if you go for profit booking sometime in the near future. There are a few hits which gives an impression that Bitcoin may be overbought. The Bitcoin dominance has gone down by 8% during the past month. Also, some of the government officials (especially Janet Yellen) have given indications that they are not very comfortable with the role being played by cryptocurrency right now.

100K until the end of the year looks very reasonable and achievable. Then some diversity will not be bad, for just in case scenario.
