just a reminder there is still no date on their fight or if it will happen. some of you might search google for a date of their fight and might encounter this(photo below taken from google search) on the very top of google search. the article in the photo doesn't have a date of when will the fight happen and the December 12 you see is the day the article was released. I just shared this in case, someone might get confuse and started saying a fight date has been set.

Whats the latest about this fight, are they going to push through it despite of having a pandemic?

if the fight has been pushed through it will probably still takes months before the fight and vaccines might have been given to a large number of people in the US. besides just like any other sports being played during this pandemic they will surely have precaution to prevent/protect their staffs and the athletes.

Professional boxing itself is in most cases more of a show for making money than a regular sport, and in this particular case, this statement can be multiplied several times. On the other hand, this fight can attract more attention than other serious fights of normal quality boxers and nothing can be done about it, such are the modern realities of professional sports. In each and everything money is tied. If not people could've never known about these fighters. Just for the sake of generating targeted revenue these fights were well promoted. In my opinion, McGreggor has recently suffered a serious loss of face and will now have to win. not only in terms of sport, but in other areas it did not go entirely according to plan. At that age, a lot of boxers already hang their gloves, already retired. While they are enjoying their retirement, Manny Pacquiao is still in the ring and even in the service as a Senator of our country. There are no negotiations yet made on that fight but with or without pandemic, boxing events are now taking place.

I have a different perspective in regards to this kind of contact sports with relation to money. My pov is that these kinds of sports are made for the entertainment of the audience, as the audience gets entertained, the players get their price which is the money and the "trophy". We must admit that part of the intention of this contact sports player is not just to prove they're the strongest, fastest, most agile, etc. but also to gain a large sum of money in just 1 game of their sports.

Ergo, sports are being conduct, even then for the money behind that can be obtained by entertaining the people who loves this kind of activities.

I also heard about this the other day and thought that at this point, Pacquiao is doing this for the money and not for honor and anything of that sort. He has mentioned a lot of ‘retirement fights’ for the last decade and I can’t see when will the dude actually stop. He can still square with a lot of ‘em and it’s unbelievable how fit and ready he can still be if a potential fight is around the corner. McGregor will surely put up a fight, though in the end this will be a Pacquiao win given the huge gap in experience and technique in the sport alone.
