Hi guys!

2 days ago I send my USDC from my CoinbasePro account to my Tether adress on my Bybit account with ERC20.

I wrote the Bybit support if they can assist in this case but since now there is no answer.

Is there any chance, how I can restore, send back.... the USDC?

Thank you in advance for your help guys Sad

Send a polite daily message to bybit support until the funds come back (don't copy paste) - and I'd wait for about 3 days from sending the first to sending the second, third, forth, fifth and then start reducing this time.

If they tell you they can't recover it, that is a lie and politely advise them on how to do it (just find a guide on it).

Have the funds moved out of bybit's address?

Only Bybit can help you and you can only wait for their support feedback. When you use a custodial exchange, you don't have any private key or mnemonic seed of any cryptocurrency for your account. The exchange owns it, instead.

It takes 5 to 10 days and there are fee for the process too.

Bybit's FAQ

Quote
Q) I unintentionally deposited Omni USDT into my BTC wallet address, what should I do?
Even though they are on the same BTC blockchain, Omni USDT and BTC wallet addresses on Bybit are unique and different.

If you unintentionally deposited Omni USDT into your BTC wallet address, kindly go to the wallet that was used to make the deposit and attempt to obtain the transaction hash (TXID). Contact our live chat agent or email to support@bybit.com and provide us with the coin type, coin amount and TXID.

Q) After depositing an unsupported coin type, what is the asset recovery process?
1) Contact our live chat agent or email to support@bybit.com and provide us with the coin type, coin amount and TXID.
2) The Bybit team will attempt an asset recovery on a "best effort basis"
3) If the asset recovery is possible, we will either offer to return the same coin type to the source wallet address OR credit the equivalent in USDT into your Bybit account. Both scenarios will incur a one-time handling fee of USDT 20
4) The entire process may take 5 to 10 business days to complete and all communications will be sent via the account's registered email address

Q) What is the minimum deposit amount that can be recovered and what are the fees involved?
There is a one-time handling fee of USDT 20 for every successful asset recovery based on the corresponding transaction hash (TXID).

Therefore, If your wrong deposit amount is less than USDT 20 in value, Bybit will not proceed to perform an asset recovery.

If you have the private key of the address you sent the USDC to, you would have easily and simply recovered back the coins because only what you need is a wallet that support ERC20 tokens. But your case is the other way, you do not have the private key, but bybit has the private key, that means it is bybit that can recover back the USDC for you. You will need to contact their support for it, the USDC is there on bybit ERC20 wallet.

Hi guys, first of all thank you for your fast replies. I am really happy, that the coins can be restored - even though it will take some time. I just received an mail from bybit that they will "try" to recover my assets even though they cannot guarantee a 100% recovery  Undecided

Lets see, how it will goes..

Nice to hear you got a response from their support and the 20 usdt fee seems very reasonable compared to what other platforms may charge.
However, if they succeed to recover your coins, ask them to credit it into your Bybit account or to send it to oe of your addresses. Don't ask them to send it back to the source address because it coinbase's sending address might not be the same as the receiving one dedicated for your account.

If Bybit team are good people who cares about how others feel they can help you out and warned you to never repeat same mistake again but the truth is they have all reasons to deny you because they have warning signs when trying to make deposits that one must deposit the exact token to the address, If they don't look at your side it's not their fault

Dear all,

I just received the final answer from the Bybit support, that it is possible to restore all my coins with a fee of 20 USD.
I have to say, that their support was outstanding in this case.

Thank you all for your help and answers.

Cheers!

That's good to hear, you are very lucky mate if it's another bad people they will sit on the money and still boost about how you failed to follow their rules, they will tell you its not refundable, next time be extremely careful and look into addresses very well before making deposits
