quite surprised to hear the amount she won was $60 million.  in my country, this kind of money is enough to buy hundreds of mansions.  in the midst of this "PANDEMIC", their win is a great gift, but what amazed me was that they (her and her husband) always playing the same numbers for 20 years.

It doesn't matter if you pick one random number for each draw or always pick the same number every time from a math perspective. However, I'd like to do that if I could buy the number since online lottery often we have a different system (should be called a raffle IMO). In freebitcoin, for example, we collect tickets as many as possible for a bigger winning chance.

Well, in my case, I always had some favorite numbers that has something to do with family birthdays and numbers that are dear to my personal history. But when I heard that a person won in our country using the Lucky pick system - the machine will pick the numbers for the player, then I used that gameplay and I was able to win at the time but not the jackpot but only 4 numbers out of 6 which the prize is that you will get the refund of the ticket - funny but true. I don't always do the lottery but I always do the lucky pick when I play the lottery.

I always like to play 6 from 49 which is a lottery that is done every week or every two weeks where I live now and honestly I never thought to choose the same numbers over and over.However after seeing this huge win for this couple here I may start trying that strategy but I don’t know if I am patient enough to play the same numbers for 20 years.

The same system have BitDice and their new lottery...you can buy tickets or wager for them, but you get tickets with chosen numbers already! I don't have special numbers, and when I play keno, for example, I always choose random numbers and I often change them after some number of bets!
Well the lottery can make you rich, no doubt in that, but I simply don't like the odds, and it's why I don't play the lottery, at least not a classical one... I like to wager and to get tickets, as you say Enrico it should be called raffle...of course, rewards in crypto can't be compared with classical lottery rewards (Powerball: $1.586 billion (Jan. 13, 2016; winning tickets sold in California, Florida and Tennessee), Mega Millions: $1.537 billion (Oct. 23, 2018; South Carolina)), but at least I like when I have more chances to take at least something, than meaningless chances to win millions!

so 60million is what she won and she was honored as 60 million richier but what about her losses over the past 20 years ? they shouldnt have subtracted that first and the left amount shall be honor to her ( i.e xx amount richier ) and if you asked us if we are doing the same trick when it comes to lottery yes i have been doing this trick ever since ive been starting betting on local lotteries although the numbers that i care of arent came from my dreams because my dreams arent vivid or clear enough but my numbers came from me and my families birthdates .

I guess it's not new, I know people that they are combining birthdays of their children to get a combination in the lottery.
It's not the technique or the trick that made this woman won that $60 million, it's the pure luck, and you'll only have a chance if you are betting on lottery.

In my Country that strategy called "ALAGA" in which Taking care off, I am doing that same manner in my Lottery activities in which my ALAGA ahs been with my betting for more than 8 years now , though sometimes i won 4 digits( in which with certain amount from the 7 combinations) i must admit like them ? i consider that one day this luck will come as well.
since bet in my country is far cheap from others, pricing from $.40 to 1 $ you can already have your combination.

Thats a huge amount. Even she waited 20 years before hitting the jackpot and suffered from many losses, its all worth it in the end (playing the same numbers). Well she is destined to become a millionaire because its a one in a million chance and just pure luck.

Sometimes im using the numbers related to the special days of our family but its not often. I prefer to use a random numbers which I think is a good combination to win.

Twenty years?! I don't think if I can keep with that, they are one of the most dedicated bettors I have ever seen, and to think they are laborers who are pinning their hope on those numbers for the last two years, and it came at the right time when everybody is in need of money, but what is most astonishing here is they win it when the jackpot prize is very high, this one is for the record and will make us believe that miracle does happen when you are patient about it.

Yeah, there are rewards differences since we don't always have a winner in the (true) lottery (it's by design, raffle vs lottery, not about the scaling problem). It makes the crappy odds even crappier, as you said, lol, and that's the downside when we get to choose the number. Not all numbers were taken, and the draws were rand between 0 - total number space.

Picking winners in a typical raffle by rand between 0 - sold tickets is more efficient IMO, so I can't complain about the current "lottery" in the crypto world. I like it!

I know it's stupid, I know the chance of hitting a certain number is always the same, whether it was last hit 10 seconds or 10 years ago, and yet, sometimes, when I play Roulette I keep betting on the same number waiting for it to pop up eventually. Sometimes it does, and other times it doesn't even after 150+ rolls, but I'd rather stop the game than change the number after 150 consecutive fails in a row.

I totally respected the patient of this woman who is said to be 57yeard old, works long hours as general laborers for over 40 years, she has spent 20years playing the same number which means she was 37years when she starts playing the number that makes her a millionaire today.
I couldn't imagine how much money she has spent/lost playing the same lottery number for 20years despite she was currently unemployed.

To be sincere, it not stupid. I have seen a friend that does this every time he plays lotto (though it, not the gambling I like) and he has won on several occasions and also lost on several occasions.
It a risk way of gambling but not risky if the person can afford to lose the money cause it does wonder sometimes.

Your odds to win does not change when you opt to stay with the same numbers in the Lottery. The only thing that would slightly increase your odds, is if you buy more tickets. The problem with that is, the more tickets you buy and the longer you do not win.. the lower your profit will be if you eventually win. (Imagine buying $100 worth of tickets every week for 20 or 30 years and then winning $100 000)  

In any way.... millions of tickets are sold and the combinations of numbers you have to hit to win is totally crazy. (Some Lottery numbers have to be in the order that it is drawn.. so you win nothing, even if you guessed all the numbers)

I don't play so much lottery lately but if I play I tend to pick new numbers always. I never won anything above 5 USD so my numbers are kind of bad always. Also the chances are always the same independent of your numbers. My grand dad used to play the same numbers every week for 40+ years and his biggest winnings ever was 500 USD which is not much compared to the money he spent. In my opinion picking complete random numbers is the way to go.

I wonder how someone could remember a string of numbers from a dream and keep it somewhere for 20 years because dreams themselves are quite vague, let alone the memories of them. This woman was very persistent, I can't imagine doing something for such a long time. I'm glad she has the money now, after all these years of hoping. Frankly, if I were running the lottery, I'd probably give the jackpot to her on purpose because of her choosing the same numbers for so many times. I also wonder what were the odds for winning the jackpot and how many times has she tried.

Their patience  and persistence did really pays off and imagine on betting for 20 years without stopping with having that constant number combination then its already an impressive thing that had been done.

Even we do know that lotteries do have 1 in a million chances but still they do able to hit it up which considered to be luck as always.This amount is indeed big which is enough
for me to have a secured life with that amount.
