I have a few favourite gambling movies. My all time favourite is probably Sting and Rounders. Both of them are a masterpiece on their own. Rounders is a great poker movie which shows the old days before online poker. Sting is a fairly old movie and involves gambling, betting and con artists. Everybody should have watched both of the movies atleast once.

I really like Martin Scorsese's films. He makes good films about gangsters and criminals. So I think this should be one of his films. "Casino" (1995)

Watched this two days ago after reading your suggestion! It never came under my radar and being a fan of Robert De Niro, that is very strange.

Old movies is not really my style but what I do love is when my favorite actor(s) is in one of the movie I certainly going to watch it no matter what. I'm not familiar with the "Sting" though but "Rounders" is one of my favorite of all time and also the infamous counting cards movie that I do love it's the "21". I just like how a talented/genius person falls in gambling and became addicted luckily, the owner of the casino just let him live in exchange of turning against on his recruiter/boss.

Anyway, lots of gambling movies that I've already seen in the past and I forgot the rest of them unless if I would see the movie again I might remember it.

i saw that Uncut Gem movie too where they bet on basketball. this is where he motivated the basketball star to do what he could because someone out there look down on him. Adam Sandler's phone in this movie by the way has the screen saver of Bitcoin pendant.

Basketball star in the movie is none other than Kevin Garnett, which was a great addition to the movie because they managed to incorporate him and Celtics vs 76s Conference final in 2011/2012 season. It was a cherry on top for all of us NBA fans .

No movie comes close to Uncut Gems in portraying the few days in life of a gambler and that's why it's my favorite movie of that subgenre.

i watched the Cooler's clip in the webpage shared by OP, I did;t get what happens there that he comes out without money yet Baldwin wreck the dice table. it has to be watched fully i guess.

You should definitely watch a full movie. Imagine being so miserable and pathetic like a main protagonist (brilliant William H Macy, as always) that the moment you come close to a gambler who is on a winning streak, he starts loosing? Seriously underrated movie.

21 is a personal favorite of mine. Never knew how blackjack even works in the first place or how it is played and won but this movie got me hooked. Also, knowing that this movie is at least based on a true MIT blackjack team makes you reconsider how easily an ace team like that can be formed even inside a classroom.

I don't know about a movie particularly about gambling but there was a movie that I enjoyed a lot with my family and if I know the name was : Fukrey , it's a Hindi Movie in which the guy have some dreams and his friend manipulates them and they always win , it was literally so funny, if anyone is interested in gambling movies they should for sure give it a go , it's amazing. Plus I was thinking about watching the Queen's Gambit , it's a series not a movie but I really liked the trailer and some of the scenes.

At the same time my favourite gambling scene was in Hangover when the guy decided to use mathematics to win the casino over and he succeeded. For me it was indeed amazing.

Honestly this is from where I knew there is something like card counting lol.

As a fan of movies as well as gambling, I will definitely not miss the film with the gambling scenes. Of all the gambling movies that I watched,
the most memorable ones were Ocean's Trilogy and 21. Indeed, the films I mentioned were about cheating, but indeed there is an interesting
side to it and makes the audience tense. It must be admitted that it is very difficult to beat the casino if you don't cheat. My advice is always
to take the positive side of a film, don't get inspired to take the negative side.

If the movies is gambling related is either they will going show their strategy and about cheating the theme of the movie.

But it is hard to select the best gambling movies of all time because every gambling movie will give another side story besides playing the gambling games.

That would be the movie 21, where they used an efficient way to card count. I have checked Rain Man, and it does count, if I recall, is this the story about a car dealer that abducts his brother to get the heir money from their father?

My picks would be God of Gamblers 1, God of Gamblers 2, God of Gamblers 3. I also love Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Thirteen, Uncut Gems and the Hangover. Any movie that has a heist, gambling and comedy involved is a good movie for me.

I've watched some of the movies mentioned above I like all the Ocean's movies, tho I am not an avid fan of gambling movies. Asian movies are worth watching too, I've watched a few clips of Tazza movies and I find this interesting. I might add this to the list I'll watch over the weekend.

God of Gamblers movie is the only movie I saw in my life. That is an interesting movie, a known artist in the movie industry who roled as the God of Gamblers?
All we know about movies is not really close to what happens in actual gambling. Cards counting, a sort of magic, speed of hands...all of these seem impossible to do. And mostly what they have shown is all about cheating, I think this is the only way to win against the house.

It isn't my favorite style of movie, but when I came across this topic I immediately remembered "Rounders" (I had to search for the original title).
The movie is old, from 1998, but it shows a talented player who ended up losing everything he had in a card game.
Depicting the reality of many players here very well.

Rounders was also the movie I thought about when I saw the title of this topic.

Watched this movie 10 year ago when I was playing poker a lot. Back then I was completely into poker and also watch some more movies but this is the one I remembered the most.

the series is about chess and the "Queen's Gambit" is a name of a strategy in chess. I haven't watched the series (but I plan to) but I have seen the trailer and a scene where the main character is doing chess betting. I am not sure if there are other betting scenes but would still recommend watching it even if the series isn't about gambling.

Yup.  It’s the best poker movie evaaar.  Lots of pros, live and online, who emerged during the early 2000’s were influenced by that movie.  And most poker games at casinos running during those times were limit games.  It was Rounders that popularized no limit and from then on, big bet poker.

Two other very good movies come to mind. 
One of them is Two for the Money (2005). Al Pacino plays there, I think that's enough to make it good.

The second one is Maverick (1994). They got the concept from the TV series. It was a movie about a poker player. Here, too, a very good actor plays the lead actor.

The Longshot, The Big Short,  The Cooler, The Hustler, California Split, Hard Eight, and Poolhall Junkies. I specifically elide poker movies here because it is not true gambling. Also when 2 pool hustlers play against each other, it is largely gambling as luck is often a deciding factor of who wins.

I've seen The Gambler, Oceans eleven, and Owning Mahowny. Rarely watched movies, especially about gambling but was recommended by my friends hence I watched them. Quite an enjoyable experience and I'd say I'd still want to watch them even now. I think I've watched a few more others, though I can't really remember them since the times I was used to watching movies was way back 5-6 years ago already. I might take up some recommendations from fellow users here.

Only have watched couple of movies of the gambling and from that The Gambler is best for now. Though will watch few others mentioned in the list and good to have some collection of it as well.
