Online Blockchain PLC and Umbria Labs has developed an ecosystem of cryptocurrency-based projects and user-experiences, aimed to provide anyone with a friendly entry-point into DeFi (Decentralised Finance), called ​Umbria​. By leveraging pre-established, open source DeFi implementations and libraries, used in current projects, such as ​Uniswap, Compound​ and ​Sushiswap​, ​Umbria aims to simplify and demystify the DeFi user-experience.

Umbria Labs began researching DeFi in 2019, and has since successfully launched a decentralised finance ecosystem with an exchange, liquidity pools and yield farming, ​on the Ropsten testnet of the Ethereum Blockchain. During this research phase, Umbria Labs and Online Blockchain PLC conducted research on

1) the limitations of other DeFi platforms such as Sushiswap
2) the level at which new users could effectively use current DeFi platforms.

The conclusion was that Sushiswap and Uniswap, among other popular DeFi platforms are inaccessible for those without an advanced knowledge of cryptocurrency and DeFi. Umbria Labs also concluded that there is a need in the current DeFi landscape, for a platform that offers a simple entry-point into DeFi. Umbria Lab's vision is to improve the Decentralized Finance space by creating tools (Yield Farming, Exchange, Pools, Vaults, etc) without the unnecessary complexity to the user

There will be 5 phases for adding Umbria, with each phase started when the previous phase finishes

Q4 2020

Launch Umbria exchange and menu protocol on the Ethereum testnet. Create Umbria staking and yield farming protocol on Ethereum testnet.
Umbria protocol experiments successfully tested on Ropsten testnet. Swapping, liquidity pools, exchange and UMBR staking successfully tested.

Q1 2021

Launch Umbria protocol version 1 on Ethereum mainnet. Create Uniswap V2 UMBR-ETH token pair. Provide 500,000 tokens for UMBR-ETH liquidity on Uniswap.
Bounty program begins. Exchange listings begin. UMBR available for early community adoption.
Umbria Litepaper deployed and reviewed.
Airdrop 500,000 UMBR tokens to users who are providing liquidity in the Umbria protocol. Bonus UMBR per block begins for LP holders, for two weeks.

Q3 2021

Launch Umbria LP token staking contract on Ethereum mainnet. Users receive an UMBR reward to staking certain LP tokens. Launch version 1 of Umbria yield farming vault contracts on Ethereum testnet.
Umbria governance migration begins. Umbria protocol contract ownership is transferred to governence contracts, to increase the level of decentralization of the protocol.
Umbria naked-staking begins. Users can stake their UMBR tokens to receive more UMBR.
Launch version 1 of Umbria yield farming vault contracts on Ethereum mainnet. Umbria V2 research phase begins. Non-custodial asset wrapping, flash-loans, vaults, interoperability, MATIC integration explored.

Q4 2021

Launch layer 2 transaction fee reduction protocol for the Umbria network, on the Ethereum mainnet.
Implement crosschain interoperability to allow any cryptocurrency to be exchanged, staked and swapped on the Umbria protocol.

Perhaps this is why the developers have not yet started promoting the project, as not everything has been prepared to show it for community and investors.
I think the OP rushed a bit with the release of this information and we should wait for the official ANN thread.

There was no other intention for him to post this matter other than getting attention to the sale that was currently underway. We have seen projects like this many times, they only focus on finding victims, pocketing money and lost.

Everything seems to indicate that you are right, this thread is precisely an attempt to interest the victims by innocently providing information about project. With a project prepared like this, the criticism of the community would be huge, so developers are afraid to create an official thread.
OP gives the group on a telegram - his entire community is 5 people including the admin, so probably, apart from the dev team, there is no one there.

It's best to be a little careful here because there is no team, maybe this project was built by someone who just wants to find victims and then leave with the victim's money,
we even see their community is also very quiet so of course no one will believe it

There is already a fully decentralized DeFi project for Umbria on the Ropsten testnet, which works and can be seen if you look for the project on Ropsten Etherscan. Perhaps I was too hasty with this announcement thread as above mentioned. To clarify, there is progress and development on this project, and the team are slowly and surely releasing features of the Umbria project on mainnet, as contract testing and security is a very big factor to the success of a DeFi project.

The developers are very active on this project and although not much has yet to be release, there are proof on concepts for the Umbria protocol already on the Ropsten test net

The Pre-ANN was a little hasty, but that's ok I guess, our small community is already frothing over the experiments we have conducted. I have been developing on this project for a few months.

For now we have forked sushiswap on ropsten testnet and are working on a much more friendly UI for mainstreaming DEFI to the masses - mainnet launch over the next 3 - 6 months.

Team is also developing MATIC side-chain integration for 99% reduced SWAP and LP fees, compared to uniswap and sushiswap etc. So this will be big because it removes the biggest problem facing DeFi - the FEES!!!.

If you want to buy some on Uniswap, go ahead, but the project is listed there at a valuation of 5m USD and there is a publicly listed company OBC PLC administering development. So this will be a great project for sure!

I'm not a DeFi specialist, or even a programmer to get a good understanding of smart contracts, but this two above statements are a bit contradictory for me.
In the first, you say that the project is still in the testnet phase, and in the second, that it is practically usable and tradable on Uniswap.

Sorry for the confusing. The full protocol is working on the Ropsten Testnet. For now, only the governance token is available on Mainnet and on Uniswap. I hope this answers your question. The team says they are rolling out the protocol over the next few months onto the mainnet, one piece at a time. They are also working on getting Umbria on the MATIC sidechain to lower the fees by over 99%

The team have let us know that the implementation of the Airdrop contract has been started. Everyone will need to hold Umbria in their wallets, and when they release the Airdrop contract, we can claim more Umbria from it, depending on how much Umbria we currently hold. The Airdrop will be fully decentralized (pretty cool  )

Airdrop will be based on a snapshot of UMBR-LP or UMBR tokens held on March 1st
