Many celebrities in 2020 started campaigning Bitcoin, in order to promote it but shadier motives may lie beneath their phoney advertisements. Game of Thrones star, Maisey Williams recently bought some bitcoins, after posting a survey asking whether she should get started with bitcoin. In spite of disapproval by majority voters, she went ahead and bought some BTC anyways.
Some celebrities may not be abusing BTC, but others are causing major ill-repute to bitcoin by aiming to usurp money from people. Steven Seagal, a 90s actor, for example, got fined with $314,000 for the illegal advertisement of a scamming cryptocurrency project. While Kanye West, Daniel Craig and the British Royal Family have been found out for more scamming projects.
Meanwhile, in mid-2020, rapper Jay Z and movie star Will Smith have put some investments to provide support for the developers working at Ethereum by working with CryptoKitties. Additionally, Elon Musk from Tesla and Jack Dorsey have done legitimate advertising and helped cryptocurrency grow. Many high-profile investors have been improving BTC’s image, at the same time.

And in my opinion it doesn't sound strange, that the existence of those who support and those who insult bitcoin makes the bicoin position stable. We don't need to see how they contribute, but what we need to do is follow in the footsteps of those who have had a big influence on the development of crypto. On the other hand, 2021 has chosen their seat as a proponent of bitcoin and an insult to bitcoin. not much different from 2020 how artists were trapped by fake projects.

This would exactly describe my thoughts. One way or the other, with the influences and power that these people have over the others, Bitcoin awareness is being spread through them. Just like from the simple tweets Elon Musk with Ben Mezrich saying that they would never turndown receiving Bitcoin as payment. This simply tickle the interests of their audiences.

Lots of people just use the name of product for rising own popularity, and lots of celebrities do mostly in such a way, because they need attention of masses. It depends on the person and his or her aim. The most important thing what is your own position and what do you believe in, what do you prefer scam projects, high popularity, rapid income, qualitative product, perspective idea snd do on.

We need to be careful about statements like this. The British Royal Family isn't involved in scamming projects, but their image is being wrongly used by thieves in a scam attempt to lure investors. https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/11362142/harry-meghan-lure-investors-cryptocurrency-scam/Other celebrities are probably having their images used as well by these scammers in a desperate attempt to make their scam schemes look more legit to potential investors, especially those who are addicted to television and celebrities. So always check from official sources if the respective artist really erdorse the project and more important than this is to never invest in something just because a famous person is promoting it.

Scammers will always try anything and everything to relieve people of their property.
We have seen through the years big names in governments and finance taking shots at Bitcoin and to balance their negative comments there have been celebrities who speak only positively about Bitcoin, but through the positivity and negativity we have seen Bitcoin grow... and will continue to do so

Not new though, we have seen this in 2017, wherein many celebrities endorses ICO that turns out to be scam, Two Celebrities Charged With Unlawfully Touting Coin Offerings. So this trend will continue, specially that the price is on a rally lately, although it rejected $41k already and now we are like in the $30k'ish, many celebrities are going to hop in the bitcoin or crypto bandwagon, so no surprise if we here celebrities including sports figure endorsing bitcoin or criticizing it.

What I just know is that we can never think the same way, crypto have both positive and negative effect, not all know about cryptocurrency, if this kind of people know about how people were scammed in ICO prohmjects in the past and how DeFi projects are scamming people now, they will have their conclusion to against crypto generally.
Normally anyone that know about cryptocurrency know how they can maneuver and still survive by profiting from crypto, these type of people will know the good projects to invest on and the one not to invest on. I will not blame the celebrities that against cryptocurrencies and I will like celebrities that talk good about cryptocurrencies.
Only wen I can blame people is when they talk about bitcoin for bad because bitcoin is not just a crypto, it is bitcoin and very different from altcoins, altcoins could have resulted into scam but bitcoin is strong and not like that.

I don't care for those celebrities who've been harshly stating bad comments about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. They had their own perceptions about it and we're in an independent world, so just let them speak out at their own freedom. In the end they'll see what's the benefit behind digital currency as to compare it with traditional paper money. As high profile investors helped improves btc image, fortunately we've seen the price nowadays ranging around $30k which everybody never expected to happen.

Those celebrities that have advertised scam icos have been brought with the hype and possibly the payment that they were about to get was massive.
There were only few celebrities that genuinely know what they're saying about cryptocurrencies. The rest are just advertisers and being used to influence.

All in all I do not see a great benefit if a famous person actually decides to support or to talk against bitcoin, we do not really need more awareness, in countries like the US people under 40 years old already know that something like bitcoin exists, what we need is more adoption and that is something that will only come with time.

This simply talks on the common line "You cant please everyone" . There might be some celebs who do praises off bitcoin but expect that there would be someone will really be having those negative impressions to it. Even though its just really clearly that those celebs or other people who do say such things doesnt actually have the knowledge on whats why making out those judgements do really make them a dumb person.IF they had done a little bit more of research then they would be definitely changing up their words and perceptions.Sooner or later they would really be changing up their minds, so let them be.

Most of them(celebrities) abandoned the said bitcoin years back and now the technology has started gaining momentum they now start twitting about bitcoin, most of their involvement aren't in favor of Bitcoin but just for their personal gains. So many of them are currently shilling for shitcoins as paid advertisements, and sometimes they are paid to do likewise against the technology.

In other words, each people have their own personal motive on gaining from the issue of Bitcoin. As of Bitcoin, there is a saying that one can't please everyone. One group may get fond of Bitcoin while others will get irritated, well, each person has their own perspective and definition of things which oftentimes contradict each other. That is why we can see celebrities and known personalities have different views about Bitcoin. This is normal in the flow of things I guess.

We have to distinguish the celebrities, that got paid for promoting crypto projects from the celebrities who are promoting Bitcoin, because they believe in the future of BTC.Those are two completely different categories. However,I couldn't care less about the opinions of some Hollywood actor or musician about the crypto industry. The celebrities of the business world, like Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey can bring more value to the table,by actively promoting the crypto industry (that's not the case with Musk, who will never promote a crypto project, unless he's trolling).

There could be celebrities that are really into crypto thus they are promoting it without getting paid or being a shill. But majority endorses it because for obvious reasons, i.e. they are paid shills. On the contrary, there are sports athletes that wanted to get paid by bitcoin, meaning they understand that the value can go up in the future and willing to take the risk. For those who celebrities bad mouthing bitcoin, well they are ignorant about it.

Maisie Williams is an avid supporter of technologies so it is a no brainer that she will buy bitcoin. We can't really control this people, if they wanted to promote or not promote bitcoin is up to them, they are entitled to their opinion and their decision. We have to distinguish the celebrities, that got paid for promoting crypto projects from the celebrities who are promoting Bitcoin, because they believe in the future of BTC.Those are two completely different categories. That is one way of putting it, distinguishing one from the other, celebrities will accept any projects to advertise as long as they get paid. I think that it is worth caring for that celebrities in films are promoting cryptocurrency or bitcoin because they still have the fans that follow what they say and they can be detrimental to the rise and fall of the market depending on their stances. Business celebrities like Musk and Dorsey does the same thing, its just that they have a following of people that are on the other side of the spectrum that is different from Hollywood fans.

that's always bound to happen. There might be some criminal activities amidst cryptocurrency hype but it shouldn't even be considered as a representation of what cryptocurrency is mainly used for. That's what I'm afraid when seeing some people who knows literally nothing about cryptocurrencies being exposed to some negative news from the celebrities they like. The big problem about celebrities is that some of them might recklessly accepting endorsement from some shady crypto website and it might only takes few millions of dollar to stain whole cryptocurrency reputation once it gets to media.
