When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit? That doesn't make sense. Let me know if there is a suitable alternative to this issue.
Well I think its a matter of your own preferred and targeted value when selling your long-held altcoins but most of the time that is not ideal because of market volatility so I suggest that once you see that you get a good amount of profit then take every opportunity because at the end of the end profit is a profit no matter how big or small it is.
I agree, because the value is changing, better grab the opportunity after seeing the right value or price for you to get best profit. The value is not stable but it goes high and high as time goes by. It's up to you if you hold it for a long time then sell it and vice versa, both decision is good as long as you gain profit.

When we sell?? It depend with our targett price
You have to choose to investor or trader, if you choose to be investor you should buy and forget it until price hit your target and if you choose to be  a trader i think you already learn about technical analysis
You have to know when im in when im out and we should have a rule when in doubt know the way out
Dont get in to market in blind

To sell the coin you are holding you have to confirm the current market trend, if it is bullish then it is the right time to sell your coin, but if the market trend is bearish then it is better to hold it,
If you want to sell and the market is bullish, make sure you sell it when the coin price has touched its old ATH, because in most cases when the market is bullish a lot of coins have touched the old ATH, and that's the right time.

Currently the bull run is running. Alt coins will not be sold if they are not sold at 100-200% at present. It is possible to earn 50-150% profit easily if you invest in any altcoin with good understanding.

First you have to find where the altcoin is trading and know if its a good project or not and determine how long you will hold or you pick a prixe at which you think the coin is worth selling at and then you hold till then no matter how long. So if your altcoin is already in profit, you can sell once you are satisfied, or wait till it gets to gets to your desired profit taking point. It all depends on your final decision.

I fully agree, just because your coins are green and you could take a profit doesn't mean you should be selling right now. A common mistake investors are doing is that they tend to sell coins too early and leaving a lot of profit on the table. The best idea would be to do our research and evaluate the current market for out coins. If jt an upward trend I would keep holding for now.

I think you should set a price target and sell when it reaches the target price.
I usually sell when I have a 5% profit or a 10% loss, and I always stick to that goal.

The bull run is not still over and that means we have still a chance to make money from our investment in the near future. There are really great potential projects which we can make easy money. But it is not as easy as expected, investing in any altcoin is risky for me. That is why as l said there are numbers of cryptocurrencies and that doesn't mean all of them have the same potential. Most of them can get shit in the future. For that reason before investing in altcoin, we have to make hard research about the project. Top altcoins are the best variant for me like ETH, BNB, etc. l prefer selling altcoins when l get 5-10% profit from my investment. Of course, these numbers can be more than 20% when l make a long-term investment.

When should a long-held alt coin be sold?
The long-held altcoins were sold when the exchange was there for sure. or the price has reached 1/2 the price of the ICO, better equal to the ICO price

When to sell even when we are profit?
it is said to be lucky if the tokens we have are sold above the ico price, and may have new ATH

that's what I have in mind, Grin
The price has reached 1/2 times! In this bullrun situation to sell. Now I don't invest in ICO even though I'm interested in selling for a low profit. Our expectations must be 10 times or even more. Now I won't buy altcoins for a high price. The main focus must be Binance listed, high volume and good projects. These types altcoins profit will be given until the last quarter.

Everyone must have a target when he/she is holding an altcoin whether for the short term or the long term. So, it depends on your target, if the current price of your altcoin meets your target, why not sell it? You can buy again the altcoin in the next bearish, then you can hold it again for the long term till the next bullish season. I think it is a much safer and effective way.

I sell altcoins that I HODL if they reach the target I have previously set, because everyone must have a different target sell. My advice is not
to be too influenced by other people's opinions, because not necessarily other people's analysis is better than the analysis that we do ourselves.
And most importantly, always choose coins with a high volume, in order to make it easier for us to generate profits. Because usually low volume
coins are very difficult to pump, or take a relatively long time to pump.
That is correct, don't be moved by those people that are showing their gains and likely pushing you to sell what you've got even though you haven't met your price target.
Put yourself first in your own portfolio and think of it if the profit you're taking is already enough for you to be satisfied not to satisfy other people.

I usually selling my altcoin when therewill be a news about the project going do major update, and it is normal if you can jot sell it at the peak, many people who hold the altcoin want to sell it at peak , so the best chance is before its peak or after peak price and then its going down then bounce again.

Yes, but some people also regret selling Altcoins before they reach the peak price even though they also benefit from it, even though it's much better than having to wait again when there is an upward bounce.

Its better to have that kind of regret when you are in profit while in regret when you do are in loss.So no matter what amount you had earned then you should be grateful but since
human beings are naturally greedy then you would always be ending up on this kind of feeling. You do regret on not to hold that long and miss out those profits even more.
These situations are common and not surprising, its just a matter of risk on when you do get out with the market which you do seem to be that worth.

Taking profit is very subjective. As long as you gain profit from it then there is nothing to regret with that. We should not set an unachievable price for us to sell that altcoin, we don't really know if it will reach that price. We could end up waiting for nothing and our investment end up negative from that particular altcoin. What I do if I am not confident on an altcoin that I invest is once it pumps, I sell a portion of it that is equivalent to my capital. If it goes higher then that would be my profit, if not then my capital is still safe.

Holding your coin for too long is not ideal. It is up to you to decide when to take your profit, just remember that profit is profit even if you had sold and the price kept going up. It is better to sell at profit than selling with a loss. Not all projects will continue to bloom in the market, there is always another project to replace it sometime soon.

Here you need to proceed from each specific case. In general, if we see that the price has risen very decently and the profit is significant, so why not sell such an altcoin. At the same time, if there is information that the price of this cryptocurrency may still grow and further, then it would be more correct to sell it in parts. If the growth is insignificant, you need to proceed from the potential for its growth. We still hope for the altcoin season after bitcoin stops in price growth for a while.

Long held coins bought from ICO are rarely making it through., they've lost their worth and most investors were scammed. But if ever you have some and still hold, you should probably sell it, a good profit of 10 to 20 percent is okay, 50 percent is good, if you're lucky to attain 100 percent then it's a win. Don't be greedy as it won't just be the green days that you will be experiencing, so better make a profit.

there are altcoins that are suitable for long-term investment and some are short-term, you have to really know and analyze the altcoins you want to invest in, don't take a wrong step or you will regret and be traumatized to invest in the crypto world, many people already successful in crypto investment, so it's not impossible
How do you decide on the long term and short term coins? I have been invested in a coin that I think has a very very good long term situation but the price has gone down from 4k to 3k and I do not get why? It is just an algo stable coin and so far 1 of them brings about 70 or 80 bucks give or take interest daily, and that is DAILY which means in less than 2 months you make the whole money back, that is a lot of money and it hasn't changed much for months now, it has been like this.

So, I am not sure why it went down in the short term and I want to believe that it is a great coin for long term but I do not know how to understand if something is long term or short term. Is there a specific metric that tells you that "this is why it is a short term coin" or "this is the reason it is a long term coin" type of situation? If there is a way to separate them, it would be awesome to learn.

It is really hard to decide when to sell a long-held altcoin most special when its value is oftenly increasing. You start to wonder until when will the price keep on going up or is it the right time already? Will I regret it if ever it is already the peak and it will keep on going down eventually? For me, if ever the altcoin you are currently investing at is doing good, the best way to know when to sell is though watching the price movement, if it is rapidly increasing then keep on holding for a while but if you are already seeing it is going down, sell while it is still high. Staying informed about the news with regards to crypto market will also help so always make sure you are always updated.

You should know how to deal with the volatility of the market first so you'll know what to do during the pump and dump. As for me, setting a certain goal before selling would be a good strategy. Once you reach your target goal and you gain your desired profit, then that's a good time to sell. Things will depend on the amount of profit that you want to earn.
