Just look at the massive pump in January, it already surpasses its all time high because of the hype around ETH2.0. And although it has a lot of competition, still it remain at the top of the food chain

[2] Polkadot (DOT) - at one time, flips XRP, sets a new all time high. It's market structure is very strong, and it could challenge ETH regarding scalability, specially their "parachains" design.

Ok, cool. I had 14 ETH (average cost 250-300 bucks I think) over the past few years but I sold them over time to buy other altcoins. Kind of regret it now. And "what if" ETH reaches BTC highs later - Ouch! Ok. I already decided I will try to build my ETH up again. I have also seen some videos about Polkadot on YT lately. I´ll be ure to check out some more. Thanks for the input! Appreciated!

Obviously the blue chip coins such as ethereum and bitcoin. However if you are looking for good result or price appreciation there are plenty of choices out there. AVAX, DOT, ADA, RSR, SINX, AAVE, and many more. As you can noticed some of these are defi which technically a potential to watch.

Just my opinion there are plenty of coins and tokens out there. You just need to study which one suit your taste and has best criteria to be like eth and bitcoin.

I recommend ethereum, because this coin has everything and is an altcoin that has great potential to rise in the future. ethereum is also the best altcoin and is worth investing in long term. besides ethereum there is DOT, another Dapps project that is currently hot. DOT(Polkadot) is said to be a tough competitor for ethereum in the future. or UNI from Uniswap, these tokens are also great to invest in. many predict that this token is like the next BNB.

Those are the altcoins that don't have use. It's just made to become a pump and dump token or it's like a disposable token made by the developers which they obviously made for that very purpose.

It is true that if the token/altcoin has a very good and common use, they can thrive and get the spot that they deserve in the market. They will be recognized just like any other altcoin that we're holding because, we know their use and how strong they are in terms of the market and community.

If ETH 2.0 does come out, then the gas fee should decrease and then the popularity of the blockchain for creating smart contracts will increase, the influx of users will be much greater, in this scenario, the price of ETH will have to grow anyway.

But, I would add another UNI coin from Uniswap to your list. In this project, it is very easy to exchange coins, so this project will definitely become even more popular and more popular. Yes, this is a defi project, I know, but this project is already more or less settled in the cryptocurrency market.

Many people doubt the defi world, so most of them are afraid to invest their money there.

But, as the saying goes "people are afraid, reject everything that they do not understand," I am not such an ardent fan and investor of the Defi world, because there you can really easily lose your money. As you can see, there are many of these altcoins that are good to hold, there are many of them but what we need is to know the right time to hold them, even if you plan to hold bitcoin but in the wrong time, you can end up losing for few years before the price will rise above the initial price while altcoins may fall in a way it may not get to that initial price for many more years. Just have your analysing skills and be patient and hold only when the price of the altcoin of interest has falling Ori e already before holding. Ethereum, Litecoin, Chainlink, Cardona, Doge, Ripple and many others are good to hold, but holding in the right time is the way for profitable holding strategies.

Many altcoins have started to bounce up and even pump very high like doge, xlm and xrp I am not sure about the increase in altcoins because it is not necessarily going to last forever with this increase, as a shadow for altcoins I still choose ethereum to invest all options are yours itself which is also the preferred altcoin

the altcoin that was once been up there will likely be going back up again. if it has some good price before it slowing drained but the team is still active, they may still have the chance to gain when they release another version. there are projects that almost die but when there is new partnership coming, its also going to attract new users to the community.

first things first if you plan to hold an altcoin, just pick the top ones, you can never go wrong with ETH and maybe DOT, LINK and ADA.

Try those mid-cap coins though still risky but you can do your own research as always. I prefer to hold these altcoins ATOM and in the DeFi space it would be INJ, UNI, LINK, and storage was FIL and RIF, these altcoins were just my preference and I'm in no way advising you to do the same. Diversifying is always a good thing and in my case having 3-10 tokens is the best way, but fair advice I think even just BTC and ETH were the best ones for the long-term since you are talking about HODLING it.

I would still go for XRP for altcoins to hodl in this market. They sure have made a huge progress on the crypto market recently. Volumes sure have risen rapidly in all exchange. Gotta hodl!!!

As I watch the market, I draw conclusions that it is most profitable to keep known large projects like Ethereum or BNB. Now I would add another polkadot. All other "super blockchains" in dollars show big losses (bitcoin does not count by itself). I'm waiting for dfinity!

I think in the crypto space itself there's no guarantee, not to HODL too long unless bitcoin/ETH... but recently I'm looking into DOT, saw an news and saying DOT would be following the path of bitcoin. I spent 1/10 of portion there.
