It's probably all fun for him, because Elon is known to love memes and crypto. I seriously doubt that he has any interest in the Doge, since he is currently the richest man in the world, there is no point in making money by manipulating the Doge's market.
I don't think there's a risk to his reputation. Doge started as a joke coin, so it should be regarded as a joke.

He also interviewed Joe Rogan and said he didn’t have time for social media, but he goes on Twitter and he’s very amused by what’s going on there. It’s just a game, and fans go crazy.

Even if there is some hidden purpose, there is no way to know. But I think Elon Musk just likes to mess up the crypto community and watch the results. Many famous people have similar habits.

It's possible that this is a test. Elon Musk has no good justification to invest in top DOGE, in my opinion. In the meantime, he obtained Bitcoin. This is close to a drama. Everyone does not know what actually happened, but with the fact of the 1000% increase. Isn't it impossible that Elon also invested in Doge ?. I can remember the that tweet I read from him that’s talking about Dogecoin was when he said that he will only invest in Doge and support it if those whales should dump their bags, so I’m guessing his plan is to buy Doge at a cheaper rate than what it is now.

It can as well be possible that he has already invested in Dogecoin privately, he can do such a thing and keep it to himself and no one would know about it. Seriously, anyone can invest in cryptocurrencies without the public knowing about it, so what if he’s just doing all these things to create speculations that will lead to more investment from investors, so that the market can get pumped?

Because it is a fun topic, fun coin , fun meme coin. Elon is wdiely known who is pro meme's and uses memes as well. He overall is very communicative and fun person, with great imagination and bussinesship. A good example is how he managed to rise funds selling flame throwers. But dont even suggest that he is trading doge coin for his own gain, he does not have time for that and no need.

It's likely this is a set-up for a test. In my view, Elon Musk has no reasonable reason to invest in top DOGE. Meanwhile, he was able to buy Bitcoin. This is on the verge of being a drama. I'm well aware that his approach is distinct. We'll be able to see what he did during this bull market by the end of 2021.
