You are right. Litecoin is currently only going with the movement of Bitcoin. If the price of this altcoin depends on the price of bitcoin, then it is better to trade in bitcoin than to trade in this coin. The new ATH reaches some old altcoins except Litecoin, EOS blockchain, Tron blockchain, Monero Gold and Tezos. Litecoin hold must be the right decision until the highest ATH. Some altcoins didn't pump to the new ATH, those altcoins will pump next time. I can predict that here all old altcoins could be a good investment, but EOS and Litecoin are my favorites.

You named 3 good points. The song about the Flare Airdrop has not yet become so public. That worked well at Ripple recently. But thank you that the Airdrop will only be paid out in several months.

LTC for hodl is not something I recommend you to do and even for shorts it is very risky and the reason is simple:

LTC in relation to BTC = 0.003887 BTC

the problem in short is when the price of bitcoin increases in some cases the price of LTC drops and makes the price of LTC in relation to dollar take time to increase and it can happen that the price of bitcoin drops soon and the person is not left with profit.
