So , long time lurker.. and i even have a few wallet.dat .. some are listed here as fake but some not..
one notable point that i have:
none of the wallet hashes i have are crackable by the password listed (the 12... whatever)
Info for each wallet exists but id dodgy , most likely
iterations of the fake ones are the same, so we throw those away
but that leaves me with 3 wallets that seem genuine. I had a 4th that was inactive for a while and then it was cleared out entirely.. the transactions were ongoing though.. so not fake in that respect.
Now, i have a wallet with 25000 iterations, which , with y research, makes it a very old wallet, it loads into bitcoind core fine and transactions seem to match, it also seem that no errors are thrown out and the syncing took some serious time, EVEN with a NVME raid drive that was pushing and insane amout o IOPS through that time.
so i have wallets with iterations of 71074, 140625, 25000 and 129551. All wallets check in and all wallets load error free and seem ok in bitcoin core..

so for comparison:
$bitcoin$64$7095f9031c639640d11d86c0a8597556ae8c940fb3bbda7c1cd789c3fea8dc08$16$c738f48338155e0a$67219$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$c35f2dc2039ced49e0b86661b5f6edbf0326262396f4a75baea7ed02d512a055$16$7bccc0618f4c2555$140625$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$5b2f6e4398004a207eea181b9db111971ab9749c19451a5f0926d1000d70b682$16$d72f084441487b68$25000$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$fbb81fa5f31a282331e8ef06d849522e282bd6689174b970fd8635eff36887ca$16$d68a0ad1e3fdd725$71074$2$00$2$00

These seem legit but i am not sure.. any check i throw at them they seem ok..  most likely they are still fake but they seem to be VERY good fakes Cheesy

If that pooling resource thing is still available, i have a 3080 and 2 2080s in a rig.. thinking should i mine rather ...

The four wallet files you mentioned, can you tell me the number of bitcoin contained in them?

Just finishing my 8x RX 6900 XT build for some brute forcing some of those wallets  Tongue

I have another 3x 3090 that is just hybrid and wordlist attacking

Thinking of setting a Hastopolis Server to try and attack one wallet for some period of time.

Yes, I am doing some tests to find what would be the "best" prince prepocessor strategy.

Yes, I am doing some tests to find what would be the "best" prince prepocessor strategy.

I think the PRINCE algo would work on brainwallets, but for small wallets You could also implement rules based on a standard password builds such like first Big letter->wordlist->date->special character

As of humans usually try to implement the special character at the end of their usually known and used password

I also think that most of those wallets could have russian or chinese characters its dificcult to find a good wordlist

Also this could help to build a good princeprocessor

No, you don't need Brain at all.
Brain is only required for huge database of password to test upfront if a password/hash has already been found.
It drastically slows down the process.

The idea is to use Prince to compute english words from dictionary and then hashcat to manipulate them with a rule.

The real problem is the poor performances with Prince/Hashcat.
Actually, I get average 200H/s with a gtx1080ti.... :/

Well, it is not only about the wallet being legit.
It is about the password being findable. Everything above 10 characters is already hardcore to crack.
But if you don't have some hints (charset, uppercase, lowercase aso...) then at 200H/s you'll need a lot of luck to find anything.

One of my strategies for determining fake wallet.dat files is checking bitinfocharts.com (Explorer -> Bitcoin explorer).
If you paste the address you're looking for, you may see that it's part of a multi-address wallet (green link next to "Balance").

For example, using this wallet that freude2021 talked about:
1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5 - 8.9 BTC

Actual balance: 39.9 BTC
Addresses that should be in the wallet.dat:
Code:
1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5
1DpoTdFLkoeUXWWXU99f1LVJYzcsxXQWV2
1PRyZn7FaDT7Nq4GCcc9oiFPdUGXDBDmnn
1HceEvVsHP9zUBF6cBVjioyBrUR5YWvveP
1142Bytv5jG9BTXvhz7HHve1yX5HsGPCLa
1M7RtACTb4RDk1d2Unm7Zd1DdMfb8vgEYy
1LUzZkdjMyN5DMSFRFScvtiuVAUwxWmEue
122Ty82HphNPCrmZ6hsMX48zYwss83EXW5
1PZMoVvTfUN2JocgtVUtgfuSZxhriqpNfq
1Fn5j5NqpfpDdAN1AJng7QVtsR3HSXx4Kd

Conclusion: fake wallet.dat (unless 1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5  is the first address, and this is the first backup of the file - unlikely).

The other wallets, 15.9 and 75 cannot be checked, as there are not useful transactions in those wallets.
36.6, I'm not sure which one this is (not present in allprivatekeys)

ok the 36.6 is actually a legit one.. address and balance checks out on blockchain.info AND on  bitinfocharts .. 2 deposits both in 2013, no movement since.. 2013 also coincides witht he 25000 iterations since back then bitcoin core used some really funky openssl rng approach.
hmm.. probably gonna let it run for a while..
the 75 seems also legit, its 2 addresses one with 25 and one with 50.. the 50 were deposited in 2009!! but there has been some activity (0.000547 btc?) in 2020..
both wallet load with no issues and both show full balance and take ages to import and open going through the transaction history

Which wallet address is this 36.6 ?
About the 75 BTC wallet, it is not really fake but it is also not really legit. If I remember well, it is a Satoshi Nakamoto Genesis Block: one of the first block ever mined by Satoshi himself... Cheesy
