I did not take it as an offense and my comment portrayed that except if someone is reading it wrongly. I only reminded him that I have been posting there and that is truth. We can not be divided on a small issue like that.
I think enough said already about your active-ness on the nigerian local board post, but if anything further it can come on the nigerian local board post probably quoting igehh statistics, but this post on meta is for nigeria to have a board -Local board- on the forum, and I think on the local board, the nigerian post has activities that if not for the sake of pinned post the nigerian post May be first, second or third on that board.

Achieving the sole aim of having a local board for Nigerians will be lovely if given the chance. Nigerians are pretty much active in this forum and they contribute meaningfully to the growth of the btt forum. Should I say, they have what it takes to have their own board.
Am happy to see my Africa brothers and sister requesting a board

Even in what looks like bumping this thread, it's not so much as that though as the issue that birthed this thread is still topical. On behalf of all industrious and actively involved Nigerians on this forum, I once again crave the indulgence of theymos as the CinC of bitcointalk to kindly consider our noble plea for a local board. The merits and gains of assigning one to the Nigeria community will undoubtedly astound members of this forum. Nigerians are a vibrant set of humans on the face of planet earth and will put that gesture to good use.

I'm not sure what else we're doing wrong or why we haven't heard from @theymos since the appeal thread last year. We have the numbers, the activities, and reputable members who are making significant contributions to the forum; at this point, all we can do is hope.

@igehhh, i don't know if you missed it but the user Mpamaegbu is a Legendary user already, but he is in the column for hero members in the table, if there is no particular reason why, then you can put him in the column for Legendary Nigerian users, which he is.

Hope, and wait patiently, quite a lot of implementations that have happened in the forum took a lot of time before it became possible, and that is the same with this request, prolly somewhere along the line this would become a reality as well.

You dey mind am, if I bend im neck he will know himself. He wants to demote me like Buhari did – APC! From top to bottom, from top to bottom – at the campaign ground a few years ago 😆. On a serious note, I think there are other users too who weren't placed in appropriate columns like Gozie51, Oshosondy, just to mention but two. They're Hero Members now. Initially I thought it was because he quoted from past data. I guess Engineer knows what happened there. All the same, Aluta continua...

There is no particular reason for this; it is simply an error. I've been drinking a lot of garri lately, and I think it's affecting my vision. I sometimes skip when I think too much, but everything's fine, chief.

Drink more of the yellow garri and you definitely I'll be fine 🧐. I shouldn't be giving that advice for free but then what are comrades for.

A President that was busy introducing the vice president as Osinbade at campaign grounds abi? Let me just free him for you, anyway. Well, it's good engineers can fix problems. Invariably, the world doesn't have one then because there's a whole lot of chaos globally right now and no one seems to have the capacity to fix them 🤪

Have you ever (by "you" I mean members of Nigerian community) tried contacting Cyrus regarding your request as he is moderating Other Languages section to get any sort of feedback what would be the requirement for getting the local board. He helped us when we asked for more child boards in our local, so maybe you can get some answers from him.

By the way, I released the new brief monthly overview of the local boards activity and you are 11th most active community, ahead of many others that have their own local board so hopefully you can use those numbers as another argument.

We didn't want to start sending messages from different accounts on a specific demand, so to be on the safe side, we appointed the leader of the group CryptopreneurBrainboss to talk to Cyrus in Pm instead of going individually. We don't want it to appear as if it's our right, we are only demanding.

More Nigerians are joining every day, and that means, the number is increasing day by day. In additions to what Igehhh and Lordhermes Nigerians active users. I found some active users recently and they post quality posts. Such as:
1. Agbe = Member
2. Davidvictorson = member
3. Cryptoheadlinenews = member
4. Markinzo = Member
5. Mr-rights = full member
6. And a lot of members and newbies that are still roaming around to find their colleagues.

If it is the population to be considered, Nigerians are well populated in this forum. They more populated than most of the Countries in the forum. And most of the Nigerian can't grow Because they can't express with English fluently, but very good with the national language (Pidgin). We can only identify their present by creating local board with Pidgin language. Therefore, Theymos should be fair for the Nigerians as he has done for others. Nigerians have contributed a lot for the growth of bitcoin in particular and Crypto Currencies and large. It is not good for a great magnitude use of bitcoin NATION, has no local board in this forum.

Considering the child Boards to be credited under the mother board. I suggest the following:

1. Newbies orientation (All Newbies will identify themselves here and giving a proper orientation etc)

2. Economic/Politics (Nigerian Economy and Politics will be discussed here)

3. Bitcoin/Fiat Exchange ( If anyone wants to discuss Trading, Exchange of cash and activities).

Most Nigerians don't even know where the Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout is, because probably, it is hiding under a mother board which they can't find out. But if there is a Nigerian Local Board is created, it will be easy to locate and identify themselves with their colleagues there. Theymos, Nigerians are supportive to your administration and they are obeying all rules and regulations that guiding the forum. They will do well if the board is created. They are people that can be or handle the meditators' activities very well. People like: Charles-Tim, Igehhh, Cryptocurrencybrainboss etc

I continue to appreciate your concerns and contributions to this course. Though not a Nigerian, your sensitive to the fact and gives insights on paths we should walk to archive this and for that I am grateful. Its some useful stats you've put out there and trust me, all that is provided to aid this course would be put to good use and I also wish to beacon on other forum users, non Nigerians that sees some legitimacy to our course to not be idle on the matter. To solicit along side us, in the shadows and public alike in the search for a Locale for Nigerans.

Long have we been operating like scavengers and its our wish and plea that we don't be judged based on the failures of other local boards that have followed same path to its accreditation and yet failed. Instead, we should be looked upon from a different angle and perspective that breaths hope for cryptocurrency.

The data you provided is outdated, and it appears that we have lost a few members; I drafted mine from the active members of the local thread, taking into account only those who have posted in the last 150 days.

All the data that has been provided are 100% correct and accurate. The only mistake might be done there is the spelling of username. Those users told me that they believe me to be a Nigerian because most of my post are Africa or Nigeria Concerned, Some of them are living in London, Abuja, Port Harcourt etc. If the users you are saying that are outdated, sir I am very much convinced and 100% sure that are very much active on the forum. And if you are referring to other information that I provided in the comment, I might not argue with you but I still believe that all the information that were provided  are new. Although, I quoted Lordhermes and Igehhh which I believe that the information of Lordhermes has been outdated because from his analysis some of the users are no more. That is why I combined your own and his own to have accurate data. And also most the Nigerian that are in the forum are still roaming around to see their colleagues from Nigeria. So creating a local Board will help them to easily identify themselves in the board. I appreciate the hard working Nigerians and Theymos for kind gesture.

You're right. Rikafip has been highly sensitive and concerned towards our plea to having a local board.

The data you provided is outdated

All the data that has been provided are 100% correct and accurate. The only mistake might be done there is the spelling of username.
You missed the post igehhh referred to as outdated. It was the first one you quoted in your comment, and that's true. It's not about wrong spelling of usernames. It's the basic information it contained. That post was done in February 2021 by Lordhermes. Many things have changed with our members since then as many have even stepped up in ranks too.

The last time I knew we sent Cyrus PM was when we wanted Nigeria local thread to be pinned, CryptopreneurBrainboss did that after/before (I have forgotten if it was after or before but I remember it was exactly during the time and CryptopreneurBrainboss initiated the move) I created the request for the thread to be pinned. I think it is not bad if CryptopreneurBrainboss can send him PM about our activeness on the local thread and the reason we need a local baord and what is required of Nigerians to be given local board.

we appointed the leader of the group cryptoprenuerbrainboss to talk to Cyrus in Pm instead of going individually. We don't want it to appear as if it's our right, we are only demanding.
I hope Cryptoprenuerbrainboss is no more one side about language barrier as you call him a leader, let me hope so. He should always carry us along on the local thread about what is going on.

I hope Cryptoprenuerbrainboss is no more one side about language barrier as you call him a leader, let me hope so. He should always carry us along on the local thread about what is going on.

When it comes to language on the thread I'll still favor our local dialect to English but the community have the final say. If all we want to do is communicate with English then there isn't any need to be asking for a local board but this is just my personal opinion and I'll always voice it as such. Nigeria is a country filled with multiple languages and the used of those languages should be encouraged instead of just English. If our demand for a local board get approval it'll be very encouraging to see different native dialect get their dedicated thread for members interested to join conversation there.

English is an adopted language, although it's a necessity for communication this days that doesn't mean you should throw away your own language. You can't see other countries with their own native language doing that. Pidgin is also vastly been accepted as a universal language to English in the country. Nevertheless the rules will be community driven, instead of putting some users over others.

If all we want to do is communicate with English then there isn't any need to be asking for a local board but this is just my personal opinion and I'll always voice it as such.
It was voted for, over 90% people that were active on Nigeria local thread voted for all languages (English, Pidgin and local languages). A leader should accept not based on his opinion but on the opinion of the local community.

I had emphasized on the need to accept all languages including English while I did also accepted Pidgin to be included. I do not know the exact reason why English should not be accepted. In Nigeria, pupils are taught in English, lecturers lecture students in English, reputed news sites are in English (I can give examples if need be), the largest community in Nigeria which is Nairaland are posting mostly in English, even wallets and exchanges are in English, not Pidgin. Every Nigerian on this forum speak English. I still do not understand why English should not be accepted on our local thread or board.

If all we want to do is communicate with English then there isn't any need to be asking for a local board
Indian board is in English. But nobody ever opposed Pidgin.

If I should dig dipper, I can bring out some example of discussions on Nigeria local thread that were still written in English but partaining to only Nigerians. Recently, the discussion is about Nigeria presidential politics which can also be in English, how about the time Binance did not accept NIN slip for verification, a Nigerian brought it up about how he printed the NIN online and turned it to a card and Binance accepted it, also a Nigerian brought it up lately on our local thread that Binance is now accepting BVN. How about discussion on exchanges that Nigerians are highly using that can be brought up on local board, and many like that like piloting and creation of eNaira and Nigeria government crypto regulation.

Local board is not about the language people are speaking, it is about local community to discuss about what is happening in their community, and like on this forum, in relation to bitcoin, crypto adoption in the local community and the likes. Just that local community can have a single common local language they are using which is most likely the case, definitely the local language will be used, but Nigeria is having many local languages, but English dominates, followed by Pidgin.

English is an adopted language, although it's a necessity for communication this days that doesn't mean you should throw away your own language. You can't see other countries with their own native language doing that.
Pidgin is never a local language, it is spoken in some west African countries (most commonly in four west African countries) that Britain colonized. It was used by local traders to communicate with foreign traders in old time (during Atlantic slave trade in the late 17th and 18th Centuries) to ease trade dialogues. Even from our local thread, we can see its similarity with English. So, Pidgin was also an adopted language which was formed from English in a way it can be more understandable by local people that were uneducated in a way they can be able to communicate with foreign traders at the time.

Yeah, a lot of things, including inactivity, member ranking up, and bans for some of the members on LorHermes' old list. sharom & abdulodoi got banned and Becky666 died from the old list. Some users from the old list are still active, but they haven't posted in the local thread in the last 150 days, so they weren't included.

@Cyrus With the number of Nigerians on the forum and the number of Bitcoin adoption in Nigeria, it would send the wrong message to other African countries if the leading country in terms of population and Bitcoin adoption did not have a local board on bitcointalk. Nigeria's local board will represent Africa as a whole! It would also send the message that bitcointalk is not biased and that people of all tribes and cultures are welcome. We guarantee to keep it clean.
