Need advice urgently. I am trying to send from my Electrum Wallet but every time I try to it comes with the error "Dynamic fee estimates not available"

It appears to be stuck on Synchronizing... at the bottom left of the wallet.

Any advice on this would be hugely appreciated.

What's your Electrum version? Did you download from Electrum.org? There are plenty of phishing sites.

The most likely issue is with the server that you're using. Is the bubble at the bottom right green? Try pressing it, uncheck Select Server Automatically, right click on one of the servers and click Use as server.

I'm sure that you are using the old version of Electrum because the latest version of Electrum does not have this option "Use dynamic fees" in preferences.

I suggest you make a backup of your wallet file mostly you can find them at %AppData%\Electrum

But if you already have a backup seed you don't need to backup the wallet file.

Once you have the backup wallet file or you already have the backup seed then download the Electrum from here https://electrum.org/#download
Then install after you install you can import your backup seed or the wallet file you recently backup but make sure you have a copy because there are sometimes that the wallet may become corrupted if the wallet file was created years ago, only based on what I heard, so make sure you have an original copy before you open the wallet with the latest version of Electrum.

Downloaded it perhaps 3 years ago so no idea where it was downloaded from.

It's version 3.0 and has been used to receive a bitcoin which worked successfully. I am now just looking to send from the wallet.

I've managed to figure out that you can turn off Dynamic Fees which got me to the next part. Now I get the error that "Error: Server did not answer"

I wonder if this is a fault at the receiving wallet?

Before any other further complain, it will be good to follow what BitMaxz commented, get yourself the lastest electrum (version 4.0.9) from electrum.org and verify it, import into it your seed phrase so you will run the latest version. And check if this error is not solved, but certainly it will be solved.

No. Electrum 3.3.3 and below were vulnerable to phishing attacks which would disguise it as Electrum updates. Don't trust anything that tells you to upgrade in the client.

Electrum clients below that version are mostly unable to connect to the server as people has done a DOS attack on them to prevent them to connect to malicious server. Go to Electrum.org, verify the files and install.

Besides the fact that this obviously comes from your outdated version.. such an error can never be because of the "receiving wallet".
There is no "receiving wallet". Such a concept does not exist when sending a transaction.

You were given an address. You put that address in the "to" field. Your wallet creates new UTXO's which can be spend by fulfilling the conditions of the unlocking script (which is "represented as the address"). That's it.
At no point is there any "receiving wallet" when sending a transaction. No wallet receives anything. The "recipient" checks the blockchain for transactions which affects his address.

This is the culprit "It's version 3.0" then even you turn off the dynamic fees you will get this "Error: Server did not answer" it's because most of the server from the old version of Electrum is totally dead or disconnected. Like the above said lower than 3.3.4 are vulnerable to any malicious attack if you want to solve your problem then you must download and install the latest version from electrum.org that's the only legit website.

If you don't know where you downloaded them then I suggest you backup everything first just like what I said above you might be installed a fake Electrum wallet if you don't know where you downloaded them and uninstall old Electrum.

The important part of your wallet is the wallet file before you install a new version always make a copy of your backup.

And make sure that only download it to the original website which is Electrum.org if you found a website with the same name but a different extension possible it is a phishing site. Be careful.

Always make a backup copy of your wallet file before you install the latest version.
