Recently, we have seen lots of institutional fund to come in the market. Tesla have invested and possibly soon we will see rich people are using BTC as store of value. As the days go, we see the mcap is increasing. When it will increase more, what do you think, will the price manipulation be decreased? Or even effected? If we look at the Tesla announcement, it didn’t create huge changes. India may have a ban on crypto, that doesn’t effect the market. So, as we see the increase in mcap, will we see power of manipulation is decreasing?

Those so-called institutions you see buying Bitcoin in huge amounts will be the manipulators. They are not buying bitcoin to hold for 20-30 years for fun. They are here to make profits and whatever opportunity they have, they will go for it as long as the end product is profitable. They will long BTC, they will short it, they will set bull traps and bear traps just to make profits, so I say manipulation will still be there.
Certain stocks do have so many institutional investors, but we still do see manipulations happening from time to time.

Well, there will be always manipulation but the fact, it is not just easy as that, --even you owned 20-30 bitcoin, it does not have an effect on the market. Banning crypto in India or Nigeria does not have an effect, this is already proven when China banned bitcoin but there is no effect in the market. Because bitcoin has real investors, it is institutional or individual with a large and wide community, one group of people does not have an effect if they will not use crypto. The marketcap is now close around 1.5 Trillion. In a very short time period the marketcap have reached this from the marketcap of one trillion. This clearly shows how fast institutional funds have come into the market. There is rise in the price and the same is being caused by the very few big people on the market. At which point bitcoin at a normal price? 

This isn't new in bitcoin, since then, bitcoin has always manipulated by the whales and we know that they can I guess pump and dump with different strategies just like spreading FUD in different social media. But for now, I guess they hardly do this because bitcoin is too expensive and the fees are to high, they can't play perfectly the market because it needs a large amount to cover the fees.

I can't give any statement on this situation, institutional investors will I guess also a long-term bitcoin holder. Once they will sell all their bitcoin, that is the right time bitcoin will have a deep pull out.

Hard to say, it could lessen though, I remember early 2018 when there are 3 whales colluding with each other to move the price of bitcoin. But even though we have big players in the field, we can't discount the fact that they can affect the price negatively, not necessarily by manipulation but by simply moving there crypto around.

We also have one set of investors here, the miners, if they chooses to sell and make profits, like the big one, it can also affect the price. So it's difficult to say as they can move the price and influence it's movement whether positive or negative.

Before you can say that it will or will not decrease, you have to show that it exists and you have to be able to measure it.

That's good in theory, but where is all this new money going to come from?  Everyone is losing work, housing, income.   Any professional trader would have bought in already.  :/

The manipulations will continue, but I think it is hard to know when the price will go down if the downtrend is coming because the manipulations will not just come from the whales, but the institutions can join at that moment too. But not many institutions will let that happen because they don't want to see their store value go down too far. Perhaps, some institution and, of course, the whales will prevent the drop, and I think we will see a big wall that will block the price to go down for more. All in all, this situation will be different than a few years ago as bitcoin itself become popular among the institution, rich people, and of course, the government. We need to be wise to act based on the market situations, so we can still benefit from that.

How much market manipulation we see in bitcoin has nothing to do with what number "market cap" is!

Market manipulation depends solely on the size of the market itself. Which is mainly determined by the centralized exchanges and how many traders are active in those platforms every day and how packed the order books are.
To understand what this means you can compare bitcoin market with a shitcoin market. You can see when for example a manipulation dump happens in bitcoin the price could fall 30% in most worst case scenarios while the same manipulation dump can causes a huge dump in that shitcoin up to 95% is very common.

It could also be affected by regulations too. Keep in mind that market manipulation is a crime everywhere.

With almost 1% of the market cap on the hands of institutional investors, market manipulation will continue definitely. I think that institutions can allow it, remember that they have the money to shield from a downtrend and they will see the prices going down as an opportunity to buy more bitcoin at a lower price, you even said that they can join in the manipulations and I think that they won't give it a second thought. Being wise is not enough, we also need to ready ourselves when the prices downtrends because we know that the prices will go up again.

Before you can say that it will or will not decrease, you have to show that it exists and you have to be able to measure it.

Manipulation will only increase even more for me because those institutions can also manipulate the price if they want. Like XRP for example, it already reached more than 3$ before but because of the issue on SEC the price now is lower than 1$. The price can't go low as that unless whales dump their holdings. The most affected here will be people with weak hands or emotion because they will likely panic sell or people that are new to cryptocurrency. People like them can attribute for those whales to accumulate more quantity at lower prices.

No but it is the opposite of it.
With this large institutions buying huge chunks of Bitcoin daily especially Grayscale, chances of them manipulating the market is high and knowing that they are holding huge amounts of it, it is easy for them to manipulate it.

Increased market cap is caused by these institutions slowly getting into the crypto market. Yes we may have seen some average Joes starting to invest into it but most of the market cap that has been added came from these companies and institutions. Manipulation will still be there and possible that it will increase because only a few companies are holding huge amounts of Bitcoin.

There are institutional funds pouring in the market and there are already billionaires already invested in the market and they did not jump in during this rally, there are billionaires that already invested in the market. We are not seeing that much price manipulation for a long time, the Tesla announcement made a huge impact, the price was around $33k when the Tesla investment came and now the price is around $49k and it is a huge change.

Indeed, we find it more manipulations come than of decreasing. This never has an end, the more people are engaging in crypto the more it becomes volatile and filled with tricks and manipulations.

This could never change until such a moment that regulation will start, but this is far from happening. I believe the market remains to be decentralized no matter how this manipulation keeps running. Besides, this is a way also we gain profit and somewhat we are immune already. in fact, FUDS and FOMO are almost forgotten.
