Those so-called institutions you see buying Bitcoin in huge amounts will be the manipulators. They are not buying bitcoin to hold for 20-30 years for fun. They are here to make profits and whatever opportunity they have, they will go for it as long as the end product is profitable. They will long BTC, they will short it, they will set bull traps and bear traps just to make profits, so I say manipulation will still be there.

Hard to say, it could lessen though, I remember early 2018 when there are 3 whales colluding with each other to move the price of bitcoin. But even though we have big players in the field, we can't discount the fact that they can affect the price negatively, not necessarily by manipulation but by simply moving there crypto around.

We also have one set of investors here, the miners, if they chooses to sell and make profits, like the big one, it can also affect the price. So it's difficult to say as they can move the price and influence it's movement whether positive or negative.

Manipulation will only increase even more for me because those institutions can also manipulate the price if they want. Like XRP for example, it already reached more than 3$ before but because of the issue on SEC the price now is lower than 1$. The price can't go low as that unless whales dump their holdings. The most affected here will be people with weak hands or emotion because they will likely panic sell or people that are new to cryptocurrency. People like them can attribute for those whales to accumulate more quantity at lower prices.

No but it is the opposite of it.
With this large institutions buying huge chunks of Bitcoin daily especially Grayscale, chances of them manipulating the market is high and knowing that they are holding huge amounts of it, it is easy for them to manipulate it.

Increased market cap is caused by these institutions slowly getting into the crypto market. As you said, Tesla purchase didn't create huge changes... So should we really be worried about price manipulation? With so many different investors it seems really hard to manipulate bitcoin price. I believe many different corporations will invest in bitcoin, if they haven't done this yet, but the only risk for bitcoin would be if many of them joined together making coordinated movements in crypto market, that would be a real manipulation.

With the billions of dollars worth institutional money flowing into bitcoin, I expect to see decrease in manipulation by whales! However, whales are whales for a reason. They will probably move to other less known liquid cryptocurrencies to continue with their manipulation game and will continue to earn money. In order for bitcoin price manipulation to end, we need one entity not being able to change it too much, which requires very high price and a very high volume as well. Right now, tesla can come in and buy another billion dollars worth of bitcoin and could manipulate the price, and that would be quite possible for them to do at the current stage. However one day when bitcoin price is 200k+ and volume is 50x times higher than the current volume, one billion dollars would be nothing for bitcoin and it wouldn't change too much.

Manipulation "exists" in the sense that it is not allowed to do publicly and like a crazy person, you end up doing it like you pay the media people to promote something or downplay something etc etc, like you do it secretly and you do not do it like crazy. For example in crypto, you could go up on twitter (or any other place that people can see you) and say that you will buy a billion dollars worth of bitcoin in a week and nobody will do anything about it, and if you are really rich and super known, that will still not be a problem, it is still a fine thing.

If big institutional 'groups' are formed and they buy crypto suddenly, then manipulation will take place. If institutions hit exchanges one by one, the growth will be stable and the manipulation curve will decrease upto some extent.

We can't say that the price "manipulation" will be gone soon, but yeah, the more people use bitcoin, the less it will be manipulated. This is because eventually all the coins will be spread among people, hence lower chance of manipulating since the number of "whales" also starts to increase. I guess as more whales enter the market, the risk of manipulation increases, hence discouraging manipulators (because whales will be able to easily take advantage of manipulators).

I don't know why you don't bother sharing about crypto to your friends because from what I can understand although manipulation exists in the market and will exist as long as the market itself exists, there is not as much manipulation in the Bitcoin market and imagine Bitcoins being held by rich guys like Michael Saylor and richest guy Elon musk so it ain't that easy to manipulate the market now days.

It may be there at all times but it could be too much or very little depending on situations. Maybe bitcoin manipulation is all time high right now and companies are making news about how bitcoin is awesome and buying bitcoins right now all because they are getting ready for crashing it and making money that way?

They would be making money by the fact that if you say "x company bought 1 billion dollars of bitcoin" the price will not only go up from their purchase but others will flock to bitcoin and buy a lot just because that company bought bitcoin as well.

At the end of the day they are pumping it with their money and also with help of media. They are making money just from that and that is the easy part, if we put into shorting futures into play we could have rich companies making even more money from crashing the price. Long story short is it really at a dangerous manipulation level or not? We do not know but there is always a possibility. We just need "little" manipulation if there needs to be one.
