I've seen the situation in early 2020. when bitcoin got a pump but none of the altcoins followed what bitcoin was doing. strong dominance and investor confidence regarding the new project which is declining all divert their money into bitcoin.
but the current trend seems different. and we have to understand how this market actually works. altcoins respond to market trends that bitcoin creates. and although not all I think most altcoins have gotten a good pump.

I am not so sure because the altcoin market is also moving up then the domination of BTC is only 60% lower than the last bull which is above 70%.

Yeah, what did you expect - that institutional investors will jump on the hype train of some obscure projects that have nothing to show except for marketing materials and promises of revolutionary technologies? 2017 altcoin season was driven by retailers, this time retailers are focused on BTC, because that's were the action is. And altcoins have lost their novelty factor, they are already old news, we already have years of performance data, and it's not looking good - alts don't do well in the long run, while Bitcoin does.

nobody knows when and how much shitcoin will be pumping. People make speculations all the time but the actual fact is we have no idea. I personally believe this current bull run is gonna unpredictable and yet more altcoins are waiting to explore.

Unfortunately you are right, I wouldn't want it to be true and I would rather only the good coins get the money but you are right, shitcoins get pumped all the time and we never know which one will be pumped next. Why am I against those coins pumping? Because, we are talking about money that could be spent on great coins to go up a little instead of a small coin going up a lot, people think a shitcoin going up 100% is more profitable than a good coin going up 10% but reality is that they pump tens of those bad coins so instead of tens of those coins, we could pump just one decent coin and make profit from that.

Unfortunately that money is wasted on those small bad ones, it could have been a lot better on great things. In the end we are not going to see this stopping anytime soon, people make way too much money from it to stop doing that.

Alt-coin also experience a good run this year and we still have more months so we could wait for more pumps this year not just for Bitcoin but also for alt-coin.
Just look at how high ETH and other alt-coin increased ETH also had a new record for it's ATH this year so we couldn't really say that there is no year of alt-coin or alt-coin season.

I think investing in Bitcoin is the safest and most profitable of all cryptocurrency. And that's why investors are investing their money in Bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency.
However, it cannot be said that altcoins have stopped. The prices of BNB, ETH, DOT etc altcoins have increased several times.

True, but the reason why I'm investing in altcoins is so I can buy more BTC. If I make the right call (and nowadays, in this bullrun, it's pretty easy), my gains will be much higher then when I put it all in BTC. I'm just riding the waves.

I think that the fundamental of altcoins will be affecting whether altcoin can follow the bullish trend that already created by bitcoin or not. in fact that this time bitcoin is bullish again but there are lots of altcoins with no fundamental can't follow up the bullish trend that already happened with bitcoin.
People will be pumping only the coin that can be used as speculation.
The result will be going back to the how good the development progress that already created.

We used to watch how Bitcoin price flatuates actively and good thing it impresses us, impresses new investors and huge name personality in the world of real business but what have we also watched happening in altcoin was a total opposite of bitcoin. Though we may see it rising but not like bitcoin. However, there is also a good thing happens to altcoin whenever bitcoin price gets up, and also happen to altcoin too, it does gets a green arrow indication but maybe we were going to wait for a quite long time before we can say that this yeaf is for altcoin finally.

Altcoins still give us chances to make profits but eventually not all of them turns into bullish even if we always say when bitcoin goes up, altcoins will sure to follow. I don’t know when, but for like a year now the price of some altcoins has been steady on rise, and some of them have broken their last ATH record. So let’s keep watching and see where it goes.

Although I used to think that the altcoins seasons has come and passed with the DeFi trend; if I’m right DeFi has been trending since last year and all know very well how most of the DeFi coins had a really huge run and reached high prices more than we all expected. I don't blame people for investing in Bitcoin only, not with the altcoins because whether we like it or not, Bitcoin will be the first choice to anyone who came in crypto and they think that they were never disappointed in the end. And absolutely they are not wrong with that beliefs.
Throwback to the 2017 event in which a lot of people are investing in ICO projects but unfortunately, they mostly suffered big losses as the dumps come quickly after Bullrun. And from that, they think that this will happen again and again, and that gives them a reason to stay away from altcoins but just to focus on Bitcoin alone.
