It's probably a paper wallet And it's probably he lost the private key, Isn't it ironic though, the developer himself, a paper wallet application that has been used for probably thousands times by many enthusiast to hold their precious BTC, losses his own access which currently sits around $1,900,000. There's no irony involved, he still advertises the address and thus still has access. Even if he can change the address, that would be if he still has access to the the website itself. Webhosting doesn't pay for itself, so he probably still has access.

Probably just saving for his safe retirement or as an inheritance to his descendants. The man obviously has other sources of income.

this is bitaddress.org domain information according to who.is and this is pointbiz right now clearly, he is an early adopter, and I respect his strong hands. I am sure, that donation address means nothing to what he has right now.

He’s probably just a proper OG with hundreds, if not thousands of bitcoin. I know a guy who hasn’t spent or moved a single sat since 2014. It really isn’t that odd that he hasn’t moved those coins in the donation address.

I believe a lot of people here saying the guy who owns that site is pointbiz which is the creator of bitadress as well. If that's the case he probably either forgot about the private key or something else must be happening in the background that led him to not cash out the remaining 36 bitcoins in that wallet. Whatever that is, only he knows.

If he really lost his private key, it's a terrible experience, how not, if you look at the price of bitcoin that has gone up many times today, surely someone will sell it at a price now. Or it does not satisfy him with the current price and still wants to be a bitcoin holder. But I don't know until when he's not tempted to sell it if the price of bitcoin keeps going up.

It's probably a paper wallet And it's probably he lost the private key, If this is true then it is not a good sign for the owner of the wallet as he won't be able to enjoy the bitcoins that he own. He should do his best to find the key and then transfer the contents to another wallet has has control with. It is not good for someone to easily forget his key as it is an important part of the wallet not to lose it. I also put my own wallet on a notebook and put it on a safe so I will not lose anything. Just to be very careful of course.

That was Datta Phuge, the Indian millionaire who was murdered in July 2016, I don't think that's pointbiz. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datta_Phuge

Do you even care to read what people write before you? It is pretty clear if you read the previous comments that he hasn't lost the keys, he's probably so loaded than he can leave those Bitcoins there untouched.

I photoshopped that image to represent pointbiz in a funny way. if you realize it, the guy on that image wears Thanos gauntlet. I want to represent pointbiz as a rich guy who can hodl bitcoin for a long time because he has strong hands. I hate to explain my joke because it means it was failed but thank you for your information, now I know that guy who becomes a popular meme in this crypto universe.

Fake Thanos gauntlet! Sure, the real one was destroyed. He can't wear something that doesn't exist anymore He’s probably just a proper OG with hundreds, if not thousands of bitcoin. Is it really that strange? I have Bitcoins dating back to 2015 that were moved only because I had them in a now defunct multibit wallet.

It's probably a paper wallet And it's probably he lost the private key, Guess he/she would have changed the address by now if the key is really lost. I don't really see why the address will remain on the site if the keys to access the coins has been lost. NINJA's operate like that. lol.

1NiNja1bUmhSoTXozBRBEtR8LeF9TGbZBN This is the donation address for https://www.bitaddress.org/He has had inputs (donations), but no output so far, and at the moment he has 36.42374799 BTC , this is a very large amount for the owner of the page not to take out the BTC and live rich. What will happen? Did the owner of the page forget the private key, would something have happened to him or what? I don't find this shocking at all, 36 BTC is a small number if you are an early adopter. I'm guessing that he has a bunch of wallets in his hands that has a minimum of hundreds of bitcoins. I won't be surprised if this wallet will stay the same in the future. A single bitcoin doesn't matter that much back in the day, but the newly improved technology does! @casascius is one of the people who donated to that address.

It just stacks all of the bitcoin donations in the address from the date that the website is created, the owner mostly forgot about the address or could be intentional to not move his bitcoin.
I mean the website was great and there were probably tons of donations back in the day when the website was still on-trend, mostly there were only small amounts but a lot of donations.
Base on what I've heard from articles and watching youtube videos, from someone who also owns a website and has a donation address, most of the donation addresses are forgotten and probably the owner doesn't know that it has bitcoin.

There are many people who are very fortunate to buy bitcoin in the 2010-2015 range at a low price and they have hold it until now regardless of the price correction. Some of these people may have died or have also forgotten the PK from the storage wallet so that the bitcoin cannot be recovered. What happen to the wallet mentioned by the OP may be one of the two reason above (losing the PK or not caring about the current price) if indeed the owner is still alive and maybe he forgot the PK from his wallet because the address of the donation. But if he sell it, then he really is in a pile of money.

Why do you guys assume he's lost his keys? Wallets still publicly posted on the site for donations ,If he'd forgotten its logical he'd change it. The inactivity of pointbiz Leaves me to believe OP is deceased, incarcerated or insanely rich and doesn't care about these communities anymore. I guess we will find out 2021-09-04 when the domain expires from its 10 year contract. Its also noteworthy the repos havn't been committed since around then too. And one more thing, It's really none of our business. (The whole point of crypto) *edit we found out today!*
