Maybe you're newbie to the crypto cycle let me say it straight but when Bitcoin is falling usually almost all of the coins/tokens in the market does the same. The real reason was there are some whales already taking profits but after Bitcoin dominance keeps falling the alts will fly and probably it is showing some signs as the major altcoin (Ethereum) is taking some leads and it backs up again at $1700. This isn't some financial advice but historically this has been done before way back 2017, I wouldn't be surprised if some alts will make some new ATH.

He will understand price movement once he stays long enough in crypto. This drop is very common if the btc is also going down. Most alts are just following the btc trend. This is why crypto is a very volatile investment, it can go up or down in just few hours or even before you even blink. So if you are a holder and need your funds and can't wait long, you need to keep up with the market and just cash out once it is above your buying price.

We are always influenced by an invisible force called the media.  That created disadvantages for the big correction phase in the past 2 days.  But we are still there, the strength for belief in historic journey is back with the big statement today.  Excitement has been stolen, ironically.  But trust, ETH will soon have ATH at $ 2k5.

Just very normal correction after price went up so much and now it's already going up again about 20% to almost $1700. The reason? well although most of people here might speculate a lot of things but it seems the current ETH market dumping heavily affected by bitcoin dumping like any other altcoins aswell and there's rumour going around about offloading of thousands btc but now it seems the market becoming green again and probably gonna go back to its former price in no time.

I feel that eth can take a long time to get back to its old price because the first reason is still bitcoin, bitcoin was surprisingly dumped, just yesterday, I even thought it would return $ 30000 but luckily, that didn't happen, the market has kicked off the next green, holding hope for those who can't liquidate soon. However, this could also be a way to push more people into buying again and a subsequent dumping, besides this problem, the whale was too excited to pump and made eth overpriced, network costs have become expensive, many users are starting to withdraw from eth, that could be the main reason for the very strong eth drop

The bump is happening right now and it seems like people have started to see join again in the crypto market. The decline caused by the whale but square was coming with another good news as it was accumulating more and more bitcoin. A little pump already happened dude.

Not just that, in addition, Ethereum has reach it state of maximum capacity hence the ability to scale up has become a huge challenge for everyone here. We all see what has been happening to network especially the other day when bitcoin flash dump on Monday and the whole network was becoming too crowded that even some centralized exchange has to halt withdrawal of erc-20 tokens. Isn't it a obvious that investors will have to live for the other alternative.
Take a view look at polkadot and their ecosystem, they have the solution and most new projects are almost centered in layer two solutions but Ethereum is still behind trying to run transaction with a maximum of 15 seconds per transaction, that's too low for the current community 0f decentralized finance.

Market moves up and down, when a price move up it will later come down to find a new floor, I don't know how sound your trading skill is but this is something you need to learn fast because everything that goes up will come down, it just depend on how the market adjust to the correction. You need to understand this that Ethereum price has lost 89% of its value before and can do it again likewise BTC so have this at the back of your mind

Things are not assured. We are not certain of when will the market price increase. The dump could last for a month, or even year, as evident to what happened before. But it can also go up back again within few days, that's just how volatility works. The question I think that should be asked is, if what happened is a correction already or just a part of its nature of market volatility. The prices of not only ethereum but most of the cryptos are in green marks for a long period of time, but if the market is pulled down, and resistance exist, it will be having a hard time to recover. Going back with your argument, there's no basis supporting that whenever price correction occurred, a new ATH will be announced. The market will more likely seek recovery than jumping into new ATH.

If OP thinks unstoppable pump would bring us too far he's wrong. It is required in order for a new players or investors to join the rally that's why it's needed a few dollars drop so they can buy the dip.

But if we look at the market it's starting to gather some momentum might be possible to break another ATH again. We never knew when it will going to happen but that's the classic style of Bitcoin to start the pump.

The pump already happened and it's still too far from the expectation as the rebound that happened with bitcoin recently can't break the resistance point to make bitcoin will be going to the moon again.
It may take more time for bitcoin to build another support to pump the price again. The institutional tried to buy more and more.

I've always believed that it will break into a new ATH. Surpassing the ATH that we've got at $58,000. $60,000 should be the next actual ATH but we'll never know when that's going to officially happen.
Not that of momentum this time, from $48,000, dragged down to $45,000 although no complaints about the price, that's still a better price than last year.
