Sometimes writing a good post is not all that you need, you need a bit of good luck and connection,
I understand in which direction your opinion is going, but it is wrong to think that the only condition for a post to get merit is just to be good in any sense of the word. You should also keep in mind that certain parts of the forum like Altcoins or Bitcoin Discussion are mostly ignored from merit sources, so there is where most quality posts are cluttered with a bunch of spam and practically invisible.
I've seen a lot of shit posts from the elite on this forum but still get merited, it's kind of trade by barter these days " merit my post I merit your post" kind of agreement.
I’ve also seen posts that objectively don’t deserve even 1 merit, and they’ve got 50 - but here again we come to the conclusion that quality isn’t the only factor influencing how someone will perceive a post, because sometimes members reward posts that are sarcastic or fun - and in the end it all comes down to everyone being able to decide for themselves what to do with their merits.
There are a lot of newbies out there with good constructive posts but they are tagged as merits prostitutes and not given the credits they deserved...I have some pretty good posts I feel are not given the credits it deserves.
Of course there are always those who are a bit invisible even though they write good posts, but again the question arises where are these posts located?
As for your posts, I can see at a glance that a significant part of your posts is in the Gambling discussion, and that board is not exactly a place where a significant number of merits are shared (at least it seems so to me).
