Hodl does pay  but not in every project, any project who's price is high now was once very cheap, anyone who hodl them through the time of sale period till now have earned alot indeed,
You have only mentioned a few but I can say 90% of the project we have in the market today are not in their initial ico or ieo price which means whoever was able to hodl through has benefited a lot.

I'm pretty sure hodling pays off at the moment for everyone that is holding his coins since 2017 or before at least. There are still a few coins that are below their ATH during the 2017 bullrun.
So if you bought that coins during their ATH phase you still need to hodl a bit longer and hope for the best. 
But overall you are right OP and hodling pays off in the end. And it's far less stress than being a daytrader.

If you do believe with your own analysis then hodl really pay well, it allows you to maximized your gains, Look at those mentioned projects from OP ll provide a very high valuation now.

If you manage to bought that when everything still cheap and you continue to hold up to now, it's rewarding and I agree that Hodl is far stressless than dealing with your short to mid trading activities.

As long as you are holding strong assets holding always pays off as long as you are patient enough to hold your assets for long enough, this is why a lot of times it is better to look at fundamental analysis than it is to look at technical analysis, if you happen to invest in a coin at the top of the market and then we see a crash as long as you are invested in a good coin you will do well eventually.

This is what happened to those that invested in bitcoin at the end of 2017 for 20k, but anyone that invested in a new altcoin is probably nowhere near to recover their money even with this bull run, so anyone thinking on investing right now should do it only in coins that have a strong future so even if the market happened to crash tomorrow you will have a chance to make profits if you hold long enough.

well. I was one of those unlucky people who dumped before the bull run. but I did not gave up. I am still here I started again collecting more coins in more quantity and hold them for longer time for next bull run. and you are absolutely right about the HODL pays off think. Paid off to those who held and regrets to those who had missed out the opportunity to buy while its still cheap or did hesitate to buy when the market is really on reds.

Mistakes like these are common because we cant really able to remove the fact that market is always been unpredictable and as a human being then its just normal

I am saying for years that holding always pays off! Earlier you got in, more profit you can collect over the years! When people start discussing it, I just refer them to early Bitcoin adopters, the ones who bought/collected BTC when it was under $1! And when you think about it, it wasn't so long time ago... just 10 years ago!

BNB made a crazy run in less than 2 years! I sold around $100 (I already wrote about it) and now I want to bite my ass for that! But what to do, life goes on! We all miss some good things in crypto, and the longer you are here probably you missed a lot of great moments!

I feel you, people did not trust the power of hodl because they are choose wrong coin. If you hodl right coin for like 4-5 years from now. You probably gonna win. Look at all institution, they are coming in to crypto market.

Yup, the coin does indeed dictate whether you should HODL for the long term or not. BTC is all about long term investment, if today is down then you buy and HODL. This is what it has always been about. Of course, this only applies to those that can afford to hold through the dips.

Yes, holding will always pay off well. This is something most people don't understand. When they see the price dropping, the start to panic and sell everything they have. But why? I thought the first rule of investing in crypto currencies was to invest only money that you can afford to lose. Invest money that you "don't need". Then why do they sell?
If the price is dropping, as long as they don't sell they haven't made any loss. When they see the price dumping, they should forget about their coins and stop worrying about it. The dumping won't happen forever and eventually in the long run, a new all time high will likely happen.

Of course, being a holding is the most effective method of making money here. The catch though is that you really have to buy at the very low price and let it sit in your wallet for a long time. Then you have to protect it at all cost, hardware wallets, paper wallets, air gapped, and then keep it for a long time. I will say that I've learn my lessons well in the 2017 bull run and just keep on stacking up specially last year and it really pays off. But I haven't sold yet, I know that the price will still go up this year.

To be sincere, patience is never the key mate, the last time I checked cryptocurrency that doesn't have adequate knowledge about the market their patience usually expire in the mid of the dump market and that's the reason why a lot of people still complain during this bullish whenever the market posed a short dip in price.

It is not easy to know the bottom most times especially when the project has good backing, but it is necessary to buy when it has dip and hodl for as long as you can, I just saw enjin coin at $1.12 and I have sold mine long ago at $0.34 there about,  but recently the price has really pumped high, if I had hodl I would have profit more

There is a good destination for HODL, just like reaching and making a new ATH.  Of course, we are only referring here to the coins that were experienced in the 1st quarter of this year.  But not all coins/tokens are worth it to HODL just like the shitcoins that emerged in 2017 where the ICO became chronic.  Yes, almost everyone joined the bull run then but soon they became useless and never got up again until now.

We also have our reasons why we also need to sell some of our holdings even though we know it has not yet reached the high price again just like the exhaustion we hold fiat spending.

I sold all the BNB I had in 2018 and at the moment I can only smile because what I did was only for short-term profit.

Holding coins requires patience, I see if I hold coins for 3 years there will be a lot of profit that I will get, from my past experience, I started adding new coins at affordable prices for long-term investments.

The thing with being a long term holder though is that you have to be mentally tough to not be tease to sell your stash because the price is going down. On the contrary, we should buy at every dip specially 2018, wherein the market went into a bearish trend and majority of the top alts went into 2 digit figures.

And so after 2-3 full years, we can only finally realised our profits because most of them went and established a new all time high. And that is the cycle we have here in crypto, it's a boom and bust market, either you fold early, or just stay strong and take advantage of every opportunity to buy cheap altcoins.

AFAIK until now hodling for long term usually pays off and you just need to wait until another bullrun season and you gonna get big profit but the hardest thing is the price movement that sometimes affects us emotionally to make such bad decision as such is selling.
Most of the coins that I've seen in the past having low valuation now already multiples its former price, not to mention if we do staking aswell which increases our token holding.

So just do yourself a favor OP and sell something to make up your initial investment. And always sell a little more all the time to enjoy and reap the benefits. Because we all know a bear is coming, sooner or later;)
