I'll donate something toward this package as well. We just need someone to organize it.

+1 I will throw in a coin.  This episode could have been very bad for Bitcoin.  I am glad they stayed "neutral" and presented it facutally (granted in a fictional setting).

I was going to take a shot of whiskey every time they say Bitcoin. I watched it at a friends house and just before the show I remembered I had my CC weapon on me, so no drinking.  Undecided

My co worker just had a very excited conversation with me about the Good Wife and he is thrilled that BTC is a real thing.  If I tried to talk to my co workers about BTC before they thought I was crazy.  Now its real to them.

Real friend tells you about Bitcoin. Friend is crazy, Bitcoin is fake money.

Fictional show tells you about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is real, and I need it!

A quote from the show, "Only in America is greater abstraction more desirable."

Ha.

So fucking true.

Rock on, that makes what, 6~ of us then, so far?

Just as soon as I can get a concrete delivery address for them I will either start up a pool for us or see if Edd will.  I've got some work here at the office but will try to sit at the phone to call a few more places this afternoon and get back with some info.

cheers,
  Derek

p.s. Did someone say 'abstraction money?'

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

+1 I'll throw in a couple also.  D&T states it eloquently - the more positive/neutral exposure BTC gets, the less digging out from under FUD we have to manage in the future (and it will come commensurate with the rise in popularity/success)

Much agreed, and thanks. =)

Stalker Update; UGGG, I would make one horrible stalker. Culver Studios informed me that the King's office did not have an extension and they were unable to give out any other contact information. :/
midEdit;  I was able to track down their home address and a phone number. I feel creepy calling them and would be happy to have someone else do it. ;p  I will not post the info here so PM me if you are interested...

cheers,
  Derek

Keep in mind, it could have also been due to your appearance at CES.

Well, this particular merchant, on his application, specifically said he heard about Bitcoin on the Good Wife and googled it Smiley

hmm any news on this merchant?

I'm sure we'll eventually find an office to send some coffee to, so I'm going to post an address now to take advantage of this momentum: 1DBn9P7cUbJL3RAstEw5sG7skeJgHg1Xg6

I'll send some high end coffee, some decaf, tea, and a mug or two with a tactful card saying thank you and that these products were bought using bitcoins.

Still around.

rumors are that its soon going to be an available payment option at amazon.
This will stay as a rumor. It was only a clueless support person, they are not really planning on adding Bitcoin as a payment option.

Interestingly, in the Good Wife episode, it was testified in court that Amazon accepts Bitcoin. Amazon Execs should watch it Smiley

So many of the usual Good Wife fans and reviewers didn't seem all that enthused about the bitcoin subject,
but judging by the 3 articles I linked to sequentially here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1958.msg701747#msg701747
it might be that the show gave bitcoin a fair bit of exposure to various legal professionals.
That's a pretty good outcome in itself I reckon.

CBS News: Are you targeting the wrong audience?

Quote
With 60% of its audience over the age of 55, the hit CBS show The Good Wife (11.51 million viewers) is able to charge advertisers a CPM of only $25. (Disclosure: BNET is owned by CBS).

For the regular viewers interested in the soap-opera storylines of the show, there wasn't much drama for them.

For the legal enthusiasts and techies, it was great!

it took exactly 23 minutes after the show ended for a merchant sign up for Bit-Pay after doing a google search after the show.  Once he is up and running, I will tell you who it is Smiley

Is there anything new on this merchant?  Smiley

retrettably, no.  I just sent another email to them to follow up and see if they have any questions.
