The race in Budapest should be a sizzler and one not to be missed this race weekend!

They are expecting rain in Budapest in next days and during the weekend so I am expecting to see interesting qualifications and main race.
With rain all teams have to change tactics with tires, pit stops and other things, and we should also think what driver loves rain more.
Verstappen has impressive record in rain conditions, but other drivers like Leclerc, Hamilton and Perez are also good.
Positive side of rain is that temperature will be cooler

Yes @notblox1 it will be another wet track in Budapest today with practice sessions beginning in the rain.

Shot from Wednesday which caused some damage to the side barriers of the track and winds that knocked over big screen to the ground. As well McLaren motorhome roof had been blown off so they just don't have any luck lately with that fire in Barcelona last month.

First practice was finished with Sainz in the first place but Verstappen was just behind him.
Things can change a lot in next few days but now I see weather prognosis from AccuWeather is saying that Sunday could be without rain in Budapest after all.
This wouldnt be the first time they made a mistake

Google also has a similar forecast for the weekend so let's see... If we don't see any rain during the race then we are likely to watch a boring race. I mean there is only one spot to overtake easier as I said.  

Red Bull has brought big updates. Verstappen started to show some of it in FP1 already.    I saw Ferraris really good but don't want to fall for it yet. Let's see FP2 and FP3 also to make some better assumptions.

Accuweatehr has become really a joke here in Europe, it was raining outside and they were showing 38C, then finally they adjusted it and it showed like dropping from 38 to 28 and magically despite the sunset it was back again over 36 at night!
Even in Budapest they still have a high alert for tomorrow and none for Sunday despite showing Sunday hotter  

If there is a team that takes data from them I would definitely bet against them!

I don't get the odds, Max is coming to  4/5 now with Lando at 4:1 and the rest in the ten area, and just wow, Hamilton as a hot pick in oddschecker! Things are both interesting and messy, I will wait for the race and the known grid before betting anything if any at all.

Practice 3 being the final practice session before the qualification race is starting in about 15 minutes.
The weather has been co-operating for this track in Budapest so far and many of the drivers are back to their normal running times.
Think even Leclerc managed to keep it on the track this time for the last session.

Perez seems to need to win the next two races according to a youtube podcast on F1 I was listening to before this race weekend began if he wants to definitely keep his seat from being snatched up by Lawson or Tsunoda on the off-season.

My hands are just itching to bet on Norris to take pole.    He was great in FP2 and FP3 both. Just look at the odds, 1.99 for Norris and 3.00 for Verstappen. It's quite interesting right?

I have a feeling like Norris will take pole but Verstappen will be victorious at the end. Because Verstappen can't win for 2 races and Red Bull has a really improved car as I said earlier. I can't wait to watch the competition between the two again on Sunday.

It happened exactly how you foreseen it to be.
Norris was too strong for the rest of the field this rather wet day at Mogyoród on the Hungaroring!
Had McLaren taking pole today too and winning the race tomorrow.

I don't know how bettors on Lando would feel, I mean I understand that it was a strategy to keep Hamilton back, but then coinciding the place just because he was in front before, I don't know. Yeah, other teams did it too but it's really annoying, now you need to care not only about the car and the driver and the tires, you need to take into account their feelings too....

It makes zero sense to switch places between Norris and Piastri there.    Let's think about the driver standings... Norris was 47 points ahead of Piastri and doing their best for a title challenge. Why would you do this?

I mean there wasn't such thing as Norris got past him illegally either. It was all McLaren strategies as for pit stops and things didn't went as they planned. But still no sense in causing Norris to lose 7 valuable points against Verstappen.

As for Verstappen, it was a nightmare day absolutely. Red Bull messed up hard with the pit stop strategy. He was so pissed that he went for that very late dive against Hamilton and destroyed his chance for podium too.

That left some bad taste in mouth, Mclaren messed up with pit stops and created unnecessary tension between drivers. They had to pit Piastri first and then such switch of positions wouldn't be needed.
Yeah, Red Bull failed completely with their strategy for Max. When they showed Hannah Schmitz in pitwall, her face expression said more than thousand words:

And it seems that when things aren't going as planned for Red Bull, tension between team and Max is getting higher.
So, now we have 7 different race winners already. Not bad considering that in the beginning it looked that it can be one of the most boringseasons.

Hated that decision on McLaren to gift Piastri with the win like this. Norris was well over 5 seconds clear of him and could of rode it til the end to get the win. But team orders told him to concede getting 1st place in the race.
That was a very bad decision and you can hear it in Lando's voice.

Just crazy and just down right pathetic if you ask me and many on here from their responses feel the exact same way.
Hope Belgium will be better than this travesty to racing because McLaren lost some fans this past weekend.

Who knows what's going on in their head when they give the call, maybe they subconsciously have favorites, and so on. On the other hand, some people also said that Norris should just ignore the team order. Not sure if that's the right choice but it will end up awkward either way. I guess it comes back to whether they race for the team or for themselves in the end. CMIIW.

Just as the person who created the video said "It sounded like the McLaren team were blackmailing Norris to give Oscar the lead."
This is not what F1 racing is about. Does anyone think Verstappen would just give Perez a first place win like this if the tables were in reversed for McLaren and Red Bull?
If anybody thinks so then they are fully delusional to the sport entirely.

Piastri vs Norris and all, but one thing that need to talk about is how terrible it was for Max. I mean Max Verstappen is the drivers leader, and it is very very clear that he has a much worse car than Mclaren, and we can argue that even Mercedes looks better nowadays as well, or at least close.

I think it's clear that Max had some trouble all race long, he was having trouble with getting faster, this Red Bull was once so much faster than everyone that during the straights nobody could get close to them, at its peak had 30+ km faster than any other car with DRS, which means that they were taking over everyone with ease without issue.

This race we saw that he tried multiple laps to pass Hamilton and couldn't, that wasn't Max's fault, he tried his best and at the end he did something he shouldn't do and made a mistake as well, causing him points. I believe that Red Bull needs to find their groove back, and get the car better, they haven't had any good improvement in years. While other teams keep getting better and keep getting closer to Red Bull, we have never seen Red Bull have any upgrades that would help them, it is just not possible and they need to have at least one, to give Max a chance.

Lando Norris is the favorite to win both matches while Max Verstappen is behind him. x2.75 for Norris and x3.00 for Max at the qualifying match. x3.20 for Norris to win the fastest lap for the race while x3.25 for Max. It's not that far so this is a hard choice to make.

Binotto replaces Seidl as head of Audi F1 project

Andreas Seidl has been removed as head of Audi's Formula 1 project and replaced by former Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto.

The decision to replace Seidl, after 19 months in the role of chief executive officer, comes amid concerns about the progress of the Sauber team that Audi has taken over as the basis for its F1 entry in 2026.

Oliver Hoffmann, previously chairman of the boards of all Sauber companies, has also been removed from his role.

Spa track has a new surface before this upcoming race. As a result asphalt grip is expected to be very strong. It is a track with a pretty low downforce at the same time so I wonder which teams will be able to turn it into advantage somehow.

Verstappen has a dominance on this track for the last 3 years. He won all those races - the one in 2021 was abandoned though due to heavy rain but he technically won anyway.  

However power balances are changing quite much recently. Norris is already highly favoured by 1.90 while it is 3.90 for Verstappen. After the thing happened in the previous race, I expect Norris to be very ambitious to go for the win.
