What a mixture of feelings is Baku as a race track, for one side is really beautifull and also have some uniques features but for the other hand in some cases it can be boring or impossible for some teams to compete in this track if you have a not so good engine and not the correct aero for that super long straight.

The RedBulls are doing something wrong lately, they've fallen behind with the upgrades.
On the other hand, imho Baku is all about correct reflexes, not necessarily the best car, so it may come with interesting results.

In some way i really want this to happen and im happy to see this happening to Max Verstappen, he boycot and destroy his own team with some idiots statements and a fight without reason between him and his father against Horner, so take that Max you cant always go out without damage of everything, like when the marshalls dont punish you for your faults.

Plus this is healty for us the people who wants to see more race and fight(in the track) in the F1.

It is such a huge signing to tell the truth. I think Adrian Newey is the most skilled engineer among the ones working actively in Formula 1 now.    Aston Martin was ready to sacrifice a lot of money to convince him.

Vasseur made a statement later on like they could have also signed him for Ferrari but he wasn't thinking the same with Newey on some matters. Really Vasseur? How can you miss such an opportunity man... 

I'm really jealous of Aston Martin now. I think as of 2026, they are going to rock! I have even heard that they are aiming to bring Max Verstappen in Lance Stroll's seat. I'm excitedly waiting!

What a lucky (and rich, well super rich) guy is Lance Stroll, he is gonna again have the opportunitie not only to keep racing in F1 when he is by far one of the worst and most irrelevant drivers in the grid, but also now to have a suepr car.... we can have one thing for sure, Aston Martin is gonna maybe fight for driver championship in the best of the cases, but not for constructor ones thanks to Lance being a complete disaster like always and Alonso making everything.

I am 99.99% sure that Vasseur simply couldn't match the money Stroll is ready to spend.
I've read that he is not the nicest boss, but when the sun goes down, work is just work and it matters if it pays for the effort.
Plus, the fact he can pay for Newey is a sign he can also pay for all the tools and personnel Newey would be asking for.

Nor the equity in Aston Martin they are willing to give him in shares for a package deal in accepting their offer.
Ferrari is not willing to give him a piece of the company on top of his salary. Think that is how Williams got him to sign on with their team what seems like a millennia ago.

Maybe the situation was like the way you said. But I have heard of a different story. Such as Newey had some things in his mind to change at Ferrari and Vasseur didn't lean towards the idea of it. I hope it is actually because of money. Otherwise...

It is really difficult not to doubt. I'll give you that. But I would love to see Stroll being kicked out for Verstappen.    As for Alonso, he was thinking of retirement after the end of his contract. Do you think he would be eager to driver for more years after this big move? I know it is optimistic thinking but I wouldn't be against watching him more.

There are rumours like Vettel will be back in Formula 1 soon. But we don't know where and with what role... I assume Vettel wouldn't return to Aston Martin after having bad memories.    Maybe Audi might be an option?

So is anyone had the chance to even think about the F1 this weekend?
There are professional football leagues starting up again after their Int'l break, the biggest event in combat sports history happening at the Sphere in Las Vegas this weekend and the championship title race is heating up with Norris only 62 points behind Verstappen.
Piastri was told by McLaren to support Lando's driver's title race after what happened last weekend.

Practice 2 about to begin in around an hour and a half from now.
I can see Leclerc making a bid for pole position as he had in past seasons on this city track in Baku.

They talk about the possibilities but as with any paper they see this from a different perspective than family, feeding on what happens behind the curtain they might kick him out even if he's better than Alonso or have him stay while crashing every single car.
That's why I see it as a lot muddier than what it would normally be a straight decision.
Plus Max has a clause till 2028 extended from 2026.

Baku will be quite important because Mclaren has some serious straight line power, compared to Ferrari which has a great turning, so Baku could be very well for Mclaren and they could definitely win this one. A Norris win, with Max not finishing high up, could actually change so much of the league, it could put Lando Norris on chasing level, and it could be very fun. I can't say if it will exactly be like that or not, we do not know how exactly it will be, but Baku seems like some place Norris could do fine.

I am also sure that the race will be stopped at least once, not sure if it will be VSC or just SC, but I know that someone will crash, it happens almost every year, wouldn't be a new thing. I know that the gap between the castle and what not, that famous small tight place, is not for everyone, but the real dangerous zone is right before the start straight, you turn with a very high speed, so it always has a risk of losing balance when you are going that fast and turning.

Well after the two first free practice i have to say i dont have any clue what is gonna happen in this race. Ferrari looking really good, Red Bull not so bad, but the main question is, what about Mclaren? And also Mercedes was very nice Hamilton on top positions in both practice.

I have seen this design by Red Bull below and really liked it. 



As for the weekend so far Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes have been ahead of McLaren in FP1 and FP2. Norris also says that they are behind those 3 teams here in Baku. Interesting...

Maybe it is a strategy or something?    Because it doesn't look convincing enough to me. You know how much they have progressed. I wouldn't expect them to be behind all of those teams.

Red Bull was also doing this sometimes. They were saving power for the qualifying and race by not pushing too much in practice sessions. Until I watch qualifying, I won't believe McLaren is worse here.

I doubt that he is interested to return to F1. And I think that he wouldn't be that good choice for team after being few years out of F1. Still, way better option than Stroll

WEC isn't rally racing, it's endurance racing like Le Mans 24. But I don't believe that Lance will leave Aston Martin as long as his father owns team.

Football is important, but F1 is always my priority, unless Barcelona is playing on the same time. And I had to Google what biggest ever combat event will happen at Las Vegas sphere. Well, UFC isn't in area of my interests .

Yes rally is different than endurance racing but I only recognized the name of the organization from when I still played those racing simulations some decades ago. Rally were in the forest tracks and this WEC is something that I was watching Max Verstappen doing simulations on during his livestreams on his gaming podcasts.
But F1 is the only sports racing I have really known about thoroughly since my teenage years.
So I am more invested into it than those others ones you and I have mentioned already, LeMans etc.

@Volgastallion Leclerc has snatch the spotlight in FP2 going top of the leaderboard after almost crashing into the barrier wall in FP1.

I was watching P3 and I was saying to myself that if Perez grabs top 3 again I'm going to quit watching this thing  
I swear if the guy suddenly redeems himself and starts getting solid points I quit putting one dime on F1, it would be like all my theories going to ash and dust.
Perez 4th Verstappen 6th, common....
With my bets being more about guys failing to deliver I seriously don't know who to cheer for right now
