What if those time travelers were smart enough not to go to the party because they might cause a rift in time and space because there was a change in the past. But considering the recent time travel paradox, if the time travelers were to go to the party then they will cause a change in the future which is going to change the timeline where the time machine was invented earlier or later which means that they didn't really went to the party resetting everything.

Funny how Stephen Hawking never said who the invitations were sent out to - he refutes time travel but knows Time Travelers enough to be able to send them invitations?  That's got to be a paradox.

Of course it might just be no-one wanted to go to Hawking's' party.

Considering how well Bitcoin is able to handle itself, and how carefully the halvings are planned up to the year 2140, I wouldn't be surprised if Satoshi is indeed a time traveller. So he went back to 2009, created Bitcoin, mined about a million of them for himself, and went back to his own time. The big question now is when that is! It could be years or even centuries from now that his old Bitcoins start moving to new addresses.

According to quantum mechanics, there was no Bitcoin in that timeline when Satoshi came up with the idea to travel back in time. There was only an idea in his head.

Nice story! Still, imho if this would have happened (or will happen) then I'd expect:
* he would have also provide(d) a solution or explanation for the network congestion and for using Bitcoin for "paying at the grocery store", maybe even something better than LN
* he wouldn't have allowed the jackals get to come so easily with their claims about being him or having "the real Bitcoin"

It's possible that it's all part of a "great plan". Perhaps network congestion will be the factor that propels Bitcoin to astronomical values in the future. It might be something we are not aware of yet.

The currently known laws of physics do not allow for backward time travel.

It is theoretically possible to travel forward in time (in a sense), but the technology does not yet exist. As your speed approaches the speed of light, your relative sense of time will move towards zero. So if you were able to travel at just under the speed of light for a year (in your own relative time), you will have aged by a year, but everyone else will have aged for a lot longer. It is not possible to travel faster than the speed of light.

You're missing the bigger picture here. Satoshi created Bitcoin just over 11 years ago. With about 1 million Bitcoins, he's around #20 on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. (Hey Bloomberg, why isn't Satoshi Nakamoto on your list?)
Now imagine how rich Satoshi would be if he had created Bitcoin a few years earlier. He probably didn't have time to wait 11 or more years, and solved that by creating Bitcoin in the past.
It makes sense OP asks for "cheap time travel" if it's his first time. Experienced time travellers clearly have enough money to pay very high rates.

Everything can be double-spent, but I'd prefer be double-spent on cash rather than on bitcoin. It'd ruin its purpose.

So this is another problem double-spend creates, which prevents us from time travelling. I think we should wait for a peer-to-peer time-travelling based e-cash that would prevent it.     (I personally don't mind if a third party is required)

I don't think it is possible to travel backwards in time, and if we could do it, we likely wouldn't be able to change anything. Like going back in time to stop our grand parents from ever getting married would make us stop existing, but since we going back into the past is our present, it shouldn't change anything. The only thing we can do right now is travel into space and make the time run slower for us than for the people on earth - like in the movie Interstellar.

The difficulty of the time machine is that it violates the law of causality. Although there are still principles such as modifying one's own consistency, according to the current level of mankind, these are just talks on paper. I don't know when the project will be implemented, or we have not yet seen hope.

How I would like to go there too, having today's knowledge in my head. I would already be in the top 5 in Forbes by now. And so I'm just an ordinary employee in a regular IT company, and the most fun thing that I have in my plans is a vacation with university friends on the way out. We are already so tired of just relaxing somewhere in a cafe that we decided that we need to do something extreme this weekend. We have compiled a list of different activities, referring to  girls day out ideas , to diversify our vacation with new impressions. I don't know how it will all be, but I hope we will have a good rest, and I will forget for at least a couple of hours that I didn't want to buy bitcoin ten years ago

Time travelling is not possible and it won't be cheap when it will be possible.

Most of you remember the Back to the Future movies series where we see a lot of time travelling and going back n forth in the future. Maybe it will be reality some day to go back in the past and fix the things which we did wrong.
