@JollyGood as I said before England got lucky and though they won the match they’ll have to improve or they’ll risk being eliminated. Lastly not sure what happened with Germany or France but both the teams need to introspect as to what went wrong.

England and Poland were heading for a draw until Maguire managed a piece of magic to score. The game leaves England top of their Group with 9 points and a 100% win record from their 3 games. Not sure if it was luck though 

Germany losing their game was a surprise and France just about getting a 0-1 win in their game was also unexpected. I think lots more unexpected twists and turns will occur when the qualifying games continue in June 2021.

Germany really shocked many people with the result they got against North Macedonia. It should have been a clear win for them. Werner is still so bad on finishing. I guess he is in a bad condition psychologically because of it now and he still hasn't got over the problem.

Hello boys and girls! I had to go back to Page 7 to find this. There's another World Cup thread but only for UEFA qualifiers, so I guess this is the best place to discuss AFC, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, and CAF qualifications? Haha.

My country plays tonight and I dutifully watch, even though we've never progressed past 140th rank FIFA in all the past 15 years I can remember (140 was actually the false dawn ha) but we are always capable of upsets. For that matter, there are 3 Southeast Asian teams tonight I feel could snatch a narrow victory, so I've taken bets on some big underdogs:

Singapore (vs Palestine) - 6.20
You never underestimate Palestine and they always play with fire in their legs, but Singapore could be healthier and fitter in this one.

Malaysia (vs UAE) - 9.60
Malaysia shocked ASEAN champs Thailand recently and actually fought well in a 2-1 loss to UAE last time around, so maybe they get revenge? Yeah right haha.

Indonesia (vs Thailand) - 15.50
The Thais are so good, seriously, but they did lose to Malaysia before covid happened, and Indonesians will be clamouring for some joy after a miserable year.

Australia (vs Kuwait) - 12.92
This is probably my best bet, but Aussie teams have been truly crap in AFC, losing even to SEA clubs, but I'm hoping some internationals take aim at Kuwait's poor form, winless in the last 4 games.

Today North Macedonia is playing against Kazakhstan in an international friendly. Let's see whether they are able to keep up with their current form. Anyway, the most important match is going to be between Spain and Portugal. Spain will be having the home advantage and in terms of the betting odds, they are at 5/4. Portugal is at 11/5. Anyway, it is going to be a fiercely contested match. Will be live on TV at 18:30 pm GST, and make sure not to miss even a minute of this match.

What do you really expect from a team that is currently having a global FIFA ranking of 160? I don't think that any team with such low ranking has ever participated in the World Cup (i.e the main tournament and not the qualifiers). If I am not wrong, the lowest ranking team ever to participate in the world cup was North Korea, when they took part in FIFA World Cup 2010. Back then, their rank was 105. Apart from DPRK, I don't think that any other team with a global ranking of >100 has ever participated in the world cup.

It turns out that there are many friends here who are compatriots with me, I am happy that my country's flag is on the main topic here. I just laughed at PSSI's history to date. It seems that all decisions are not entirely for the progress of Indonesian football. I was happy to see Indonesia during Luis Milla but they fired him. Today Shin Tae yong is quite good they play strong their stamina is better. At the time against Vietnam I was quite disappointed that Indonesia could not hold the ball, the pressure of Vietnam made the players awkward. Unlucky? No I dont think so, I would prefer to say that they were playing a bit bad especially in the 2nd half.
It is not their first draw in the qualification for the world cup, as it is their 3rd draw.
With all the players they have in the squad, they should be able to get better results so I think there must be something wrong with the strategy of the team.

Yes that was a heartbreak for the Argentina and for me as well as 
Specially that second goal scored by Colombia at the 90 +4 minutes was so heartbreaking. I was just counting the time and just when i thought that argentina has won colombia scored the second goal

It was indeed heartbreaking for Argentina, but they are in no real danger as far as qualifying is concerned. Right now they are on the second position in the points table, behind Brazil. On the other hand, Colombia may struggle to qualify despite the draw over Argentina. Anyway, it was good improvement from Colombia. Let's not forget that this is the same team, which got thrashed 1-6 against Ecuador a few months back (and after that they went down by 0-3 against a weak Peru). So it is good comeback from them.

The Euro 2020 competition is over and there are a few weeks to relax before the football season starts again. When season 2021/22 finishes next year we can enjoy the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

England made the semi-final in the Russia 2018 World Cup and made the final in Euro 2020. Maybe it will be their tournament this time but France are defending champions because they won the World Cup in Russia 2018.

Which teams have a talented squad that are capable of getting to the final? England, France, Belgium, Italy... is that it?

Last time, the world cup was hosted by Europe and the European countries performed better. But I have a feeling that this time it may be the turn of South American countries such as Argentina and Brazil. Anyone who had watched the recently concluded Copa America tournament would agree with me. On the other hand, the major European teams (France, Belgium, Germany.etc) couldn't perform as expected in the EURO 2021. Italy and Spain managed to reach the semi-finals and among them Italy became the champions. But still, I noticed a lot of weaknesses.
