Congratulations to France and England for getting through to the quarter-finals. Both Poland and Senegal have been knocked out of the tournament. During their game, Poland could have taken the lead against France but they did not manage it even after coming close. The same for Senegal, they had opportunities to take the lead against England but miss their good chances.

It was nice hit out of the both sites. France beats Poland to reach the quarter final in the Qatar 2022 world cup. And in Qatar 2022 again, England beats Senegal (African champion) to qualify for the semifinal. Therefore, It is France and England will play the next match on the semifinal stage.

Japan will face at Croita at tonight for round of 16. Japan's starting XI against Crotia: Gonda (GK), Tomiyasu, Yoshida, Taniguchi, Ito, Endo, Morita, Nagatomo, Doan, Maeda, Kamada. Also Crotia's starting XI against Japan: Livakovic (GK), Juranovic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Barisic, Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic, Petkovic, Kramaric, Perisic.

I would like the Japanese National team to surprise once again. Football is better with surprises. I usually support underdog teams.

England are really up to something this year,with the strikers they have,they were able to break the fence of Senegal,winning them 3-0.Saka and Harry Kane are two deadly strikers that they were not able to stop.It is good that I'm seeing my players qualify to the next stage,which is quater final.
France is another team that might get to the final of this year's world cup too,they've been playing very impressively,and they have a vibrant striker in Mbape who has scored 5 goals so far in the tournament.We have Arsenal player like Saliba there,but he has been kept on the bench for sometimes now.
It will be fun if the both countries can reach the final and England will go ahead to win it.If England should win the world cup,and Arsenal should win the English premier league and also win the FA cup,Bukayo Saka of Arsenal will be strong favourite for the Ballon'Or.

Japan - Croatia can be the most balanced match I have seen in this stage so far. Japan found the first goal of the match in the last minutes of the first half. Maeda found a big chance in the penalty area and scored by a nice shot right to the middle. It didn't take Croatia too long to answer them by an equalizer. Lovren whipped a really nice cross targeting Perisic and Perisic finished it with a really nice header to the left corner of the goalkeeper. There was a little mistake by Japan defense about marking Perisic there as well.

It is still too hard to guess which side can make it. It has been so many years since these teams played against each other the last time. They are playing a competitive match against each other once again after many years.

Japan vs Croatia ended 1-1 after 90 minutes therefore we had the first extra time game of the tournament. With no more goals scored in the following 30 minutes the game went to a penalty shoot out which Croatia won 3-1 and will progress to the quarter-finals to play Brazil.

Then you have the Japan vs Croatia game, which was very tied all the time. Japan started with a goal, but that was quickly matched by Croatia.

In the end the Japanese players didn't have what's needed in a penalty shootout, they were too predictable, and the shots were not very strong. Croatia did a much better job, and without being incredible at the penalties, they managed to win.

South Korea did not have a strong squad to win against a renowned team like Brazil. However, the Korean players tried hard to perform well in the match. But Korea's defenders looked helpless against Brazil's powerful attack. South Korea completely failed to counter Brazil's attacks. South Korea went out of the truck in the match after conceding 4 goals in only 36 minutes of the first half. Brazil controlled the entire match in the second half.

The Japan and Croatia teams were of almost equal quality. Both performed quite well. But unlucky for Japan, they were defeated in the end. Brazil and Croatia will meet in the quarter finals. It is going to be a very competitive match.

South Korea was the weakest AFC team in this tournament, right? Even then they had their moments in this world cup, when they defeated Portugal. All of the Asian teams had at least one upset to their name (apart from Qatar). Japan managed to defeat two of the strongest UEFA teams, while Australia downed Danmark. And let's not forget Saudi Arabia's famous win against Argentina and the victory by Iran over Wales (which had Gareth Bale as the captain). The performance during the PQF stage was disappointing though.

Portugal vs Switzerland seems a victory for Ronaldo and his team but in the other game Morocco have an excellent chance to beat Spain and make it to the quarter-finals.

These two games were so different.

Brazil won that game in the first half then simply relaxed in the second half which allowed South Korea to score a consolation goal.

Then you have the Japan vs Croatia game, which was very tied all the time. Japan started with a goal, but that was quickly matched by Croatia.

In the end the Japanese players didn't have what's needed in a penalty shootout, they were too predictable, and the shots were not very strong. Croatia did a much better job, and without being incredible at the penalties, they managed to win.

Japan and Croatia seemed to be heading to a penalty shoot out from the beginning. The Japanese players took bad penalties, they made easy saves for the Croatian goalkeeper. The next game for these two is against each other in the quarter-finals: Brazil vs Croatia

Spain will face at Morocco at tonight for round of 16. Spain's starting XI against Morocco: Simon, Marcos Llorente, Rodri, Laporte, Alba, Pedri, Busquets, Gavi, Torres, Asensio, Olmo. Also Morocco's starting XI against Spain: Bono, Hakimi, Saiss, Aguerd, Mazraoui, Ounahi, Amrabat, Amallah, Ziyech, En-Nesyri, Boufal.

I think that morocco is capable enough to force the game to be draw and doing penalty and I think Morocco will be very strong for Spain today and they will beat Spain. Also Spain had no impressive performance during the group qualified. But Spain has the favorite team in this match.

Again Alvaro Morata will not start with Spain even he has scored 3 goals for them as an alternative player. Spain coach is very confident with his squad and only wants to use Morata as a substitution. Morata is a best striker for Spain after times with Raul, Morientez, David Villa and Fernando Torres.

Even so Morata is under quality than previous Spanish strikers and he even don't get a good position in his club. That is one of consequence of tiki-taka when Spain nowadays have many talented midfielders but very little good traditional strikers.

I think that morocco is capable enough to force the game to be draw and doing penalty and I think Morocco will be very strong for Spain today and they will beat Spain. Also Spain had no impressive performance during the group qualified. But Spain has the favorite team in this match.

Morocco will only be able to keep the match in control if they won't let Spain score first and score too soon in the match. Because if Spain score first, Morocco will have only one choice to more proactively attack Spain. That will open a lot of space and contains more risk for Morocco and I am sure that Spanish players can score more goals after that.

Really?  Never thought Morocco had the players to beat a top tier international team like Spain.  I fancy a win with a clean sheet for them.  And to make the quarter finals super interesting I'd really want to see Portugal vs Spain.  Other quarter final matches in the other parts of the bracket are Croatia vs Brazil, Netherlands vs Argentina and prolly the best match up of them all France vs England.  If the English squad goes thru, there's a good chance they win it all.  France is one of the tougher match ups in this World Cup.

both of them played equally well during the first half no goals were created, in fact nothing is impossible in this world cup if morocco makes a surprise to make a goal against spain but of course it's not that easy, morocco is also not a bad team during this world cup and the crowd underestimated it, even predicting that Spain could score more than 3 goals against Morocco is impossible, I can only predict that Spain will win narrowly for 0 - 1 or 0 - 2, even though it looks difficult for Spain to penetrate the opponent's defense to score goals, but we'll see. second half later

Since Morocco has beaten some the world best players to reach the quarter final stage then I have hope that they will play the final with Portugal. Since Morocco survive from the knockout stage then they will conclude the match with a Victorious trophy to African soil.


Portugal performance today was incredible, they were playing with Switzerland like they were playing with children. Switzerland was possessing ball more to their opponent, but luck was not on the side of Switzerland so they lost out from the knockout stage.

Spain are knocked out of the tournament, they were beaten by Morocco. Portugal as expected beat Switzerland and knocked them out. Here are the results from the final round of 16 games played today:

I bet on Portugal with 1.9 odds and I am really sure with or without Ronaldo Portugal will finish their work with confidence. And, after the kick-off, the squad looks impressive to build an attack, and the scheme looks good even Ronaldo is on the bench is looking frustrated didn't play yet after 2nd half, yes this guy is always on shooting target of news, every behavior always cornered him even he is very happy if the squad able to the next round.

Portugal's quarter final match is going to be against Morocco. I would honestly say that given the form that Portugal is in, Morocco doesn't stand a chance. The most probable semi-final lineup looks like this:

Argentina vs Brazil
England vs Portugal

In the second semi-final, I assumed that England would be able to secure a spot, by defeating France in the QF match. Now predicting the winner of QF match between England and France is extremely difficult, as both the teams are in good form. But I went with England, as I thought that they had a better team balance when compared to France.
