Here’s a pic I got from the shop. It’s home safe now and looking great. Really customized inside and out. I’m happy with the color and how it changes from black to purple to red to orange based on the light. Gives it a real unique feeling and look. I’ll miss the stainless steel look, but I won’t miss the fingerprints. Wrapping is a must.

It makes driving around pleasurable instead of a task. My only complaint so far is that it takes turns a little tight and doesn’t accelerate/brake as smoothly as I do when driving. I havent had the chance to ride in one of those self-driving cars yet, but I gotta admit, that definitely makes me a little jealous. Just sitting back and letting the car do all the driving for you seems pretty nice.

But seriously - youre complaining that the self-driving cars drive too aggressive? That cracked me up. I figured it would be the total opposite, you know? That the robot drivers would be super cautious and slow or something compared to human drivers. But I guess maybe theres different settings you can choose for how assertive you want the autopilot to be.

Either way Id love to take one for a spin someday and see what its like, aggressive or not.

I wouldn’t call it aggressive. Just not smooth with acceleration off 0 and coming to a stop. Like driving with a 15 year old who hasn’t learned how to drive without being jerky yet. Turning too tight usually involves nearly cutting someone off coming the other way in neighborhoods or having to make quick corrections around curbs at the end of a turn. It’ll get better and it is good enough to use now, but I’d say it has a ways to go before it’s as butter smooth as your boy behind the wheel.

No. I’m stoked I didn’t cash them out for $2 per BTC back in the panic of 2011. It would be hard to regret owning the most awesome vehicle ever made for civilian use.

While the new pics are nice, it's hard to beat the one from the shop. Somebody was either lucky, either is very good at using the light for best shot.
However, the movie is interesting: it shows very good how the shades change depending on the light and angle. Very interesting!

I think even if you go to the dealership they’ll still just have you use the website to place an order. There isn’t any difference. You could go to a dealership and ask them though. They’ll let you use a referral.

The $2,000 off was only until the end of the year though. Right now the discount is only $1,000. Still better than nothing.

I can't be the only one thinking that somewhere in that list of accessories, there's got to be a cover for the back trunk. Some sort of rectangular cover, not those units which I've seen on some pickup trucks that make the back larger than the truck itself.

Would be useful for transporting stuff that needs to be kept away from water. Or maybe just for aesthetic show when you're not carrying anything inside there.

It sounds like you're describing the Cybertruck Tonneau Cover that comes standard on every Cybertruck.  You can see it in operation with the below video, or if you click on the link where my drone flew around my Cybertruck you can see it.  It's pretty awesome.  It is strong enough to stand on, automatically opens and closes (even while you're driving), and does a pretty good job at protecting your things from water, but if you do sit and try to get water in there with a hose you could, but for rain, it's probably fine to keep your things dry.

You'll notice when you see Cybertrucks that the tonneau cover is almost always closed.  This is because it provide aerodynamics that increase range substantially.
