These sort of opportunities are rare and Bitcoin has been the biggest I've seen so far, but they are taking place on a smaller scale every day. Dogecoin rocketed in value after tweets by Elon Musk and it was easy to buy hundreds of thousands, if not millions of them for fractions of a penny only a few months ago. You could have made 20x your money since then. It's hard to judge what people will want in the future - if you look at stocks like Amazon, they were losing tons of money for years and finally conquered the online shopping market. The key thing is not to restrict yourself to one type of investment and hold on to it for a long time if you see it going up, because many people sold out at $5k, $10k and are probably kicking themselves right now!

The same thing happened to me when I first learned what crypto is, at first I was hesitant to follow it but with determination and high intention to buy I decided to invest in the long term and see now the price of bitcoin is very high. Our role as holders of Bitcoin assets keeps prices up, and invites our colleagues to enter the world of crypto. Because the more demand, the higher the price.

I'm just happy some are already testifying good things and at least to say the future of bitcoin is bright, in addition, bitcoin is here to stay, I also keen to admiring the early holders as they should be the richest among others, but we can't loose hope because the opportunity is still open, bitcoin keeps rising as long as you keep holding while the masses keeps on buying, so many people are saying in the future, bitcoin will be for the richer while the poorer acquire altcoins like BNB and others. What keeps me stronger some of the times is that, many trials to stop bitcoin by the government had done nothing than to make the price more high.

No there won't be any other similar opportunity like that of btc, of course there are cases like eth too but compare to btc, the opportunity was massive,  both early and mid-early adopters has gain immensely from btc, even those of us who can be considered as late comers or semi late comers also have benefited alot being part of this space,
Am always glad to have known btc and crypto as at the time I did, it was and is a life changing experience.

Bitcoin was one of those assets that gave huge returns to those who invested in it during a very early phase. And it is not the first such asset. In the stock market, there are hundreds of stocks which gave 1,000x or even 10,000x returns to those who invested in them. A few examples are the stocks of DELL, MSFT, AMZN, TSLA.etc. Anyway, those who invested in 2016 or before in Bitcoin are lucky. I don't think that 10x or 20x rise is possible with BTC now.

Congratulations that you have time to participate in a long bitcoin. I also think like you. As soon as I knew my friend participated in Bitcoin investment and became the rich. Bitcoin gives them a huge profit that this profit is not available at any other investment. I immediately learned along with your enthusiastic guidance to help me enter the electronic money world. I think you are so lucky that you already joined at 2013 but look the recent data where you will find many people are joining newly. Some of my friends just joined two or three months ago. Btw, as an old user, just look at the price now. Hopefully it will be $100k in this year. So, I must agree with you that Btc is still a lifetime Chance.

If the OP joined last 2013 and hold his bitcoins, I believe, he should be doing okay right now. But like most of us, maybe he also sold already some of his stash that's why his tone is not so great. Just like others said, even if you joined last year, you already got a very good profit if you keep your bitcoins up until now. This is really a good opportunity, and I think, even if you invest today, the chance of getting good profit in the future is still high.

Even OP, who found out about BTC in 2013, had plenty of time to get involved.  In 2013 bitcoin was between $10-$100 (I think around 30 in April 2013 - I had lunch with some engineering friends who I'd mentioned bitcoin to back in November 2010, then in 2012 and again then.  Neither of them did anything at that time or at least through 2018).  I told people about the internet and internet domain names in 1993, 1994, and 1995, it was a similar scenario where people talk a good game, but often decide to do other things instead of taking a few hours or days to follow through.

Even now, in April 2021, if adoption continues as it has, there is still 1 or two orders of magnitude (or maybe more) left in usage and fiat growth.  Since many people don't understand orders of magnitude, that means there is room for 10 (one order of magnitude) or 100 (two orders of magnitude) times increase in fiat price.  

I would venture that almost everyone who has attempted to trade bitcoin over the last 7-10 years would've done better to just buy and hold.

True, I also believe that. Even the people who are joining today can hold their assets from now. It will also give them a good returns as profit and they will be happy to see that. Still the best opportunity is waiting for you who are not a Btc holder. I believe that the real beauty can be felt by the holders only.

I know a story of a dude who kept his approximately 2.5 btc on his old Samsung Galaxy S5, which he unfortunately lost several years ago.  He was packing stuff up since he was planning to move to a new apartment and found the phone under an old refrigerator.  After a nerve-wracking time waiting for the phone to charge, he fumbled through his pin code but was still finally able to log back in to his wallet.

Sure enough, his 2.5 btc was still there, untouched and ballooned to over 12,000% in value. This was just last March. Once in a lifetime indeed!
