What usually happens to Bitcoin after Alt season? Does the value go down? Or it goes up again?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Well it's obvious, if altcoin investors started to sell off their stash of altcoin causing the market to plummet or at least people think that it is the end of altcoin bull run, then those are going to move their money into BTC.

There are still other options though, like stocks, but i doubt that, once your invested into crypto, you can't get out.  Grin

Hello everybody. The history of cryptocurrency is not yet long, but if we adhere to the postulate that it is periodic, then, based on what happened after the last alt-season of 2018, we will face a boring, protracted bear market. In any case, you need to be ready for this bear market, or even better, not to waste time and start accumulating stablecoins in order to buy at very favorable prices. After all, after the bear market, prices will again begin to skyrocket to the moon.

If altcoin season ends, they are not going to buy BTC, they are going to hedge to stablecoin to wait for the bottom. Some may still trade, the buy low sell high still works even when there is a bear market but its going to be harder.

Its not sure yet if altseason is over. It would start with BTC plummeting down before that happens. But because somehow BTC was derisked, it probably won't happen yet.

There's a lot of strategy that can be apply here:

ALTS->BTC
ALTS->Stable Coins

And that's why people are pointing about alts and bitcoin correlation, using the bitcoin's dominance as sort of metric. And now that the dominance is down from as high as 70% to 53% of today, they are shouting that altcoin market is now on a super fast bull run. We can see it in 2018, wherein bitcoin's dominance went down as low as 35% and correlated with the rise of alts. So we can interpret it and make the right decision to shift to bitcoin or stable coins.

There's a lot of strategy that can be apply here:

ALTS->BTC
ALTS->Stable Coins
Three main types of assets in crypto market:
- Bitcoin
- Altcoins (or called as Alternative cryptocurrencies)
- Fiat currencies (and substitutes for them in crypto: stable coins).
Whales and institutes manipulate the market to enrich their capital. Their capital will be changed from Bitcoin to altcoins and fiat currencies / stable coins. In different periods of market, they will allocate more of their capital into bitcoin or altcoins or simply hold in fiat currencies or stable coins.

Latest ‘Altcoin Season’ Fueled by XRP, Tron, Stellar Pushes Crypto Market Value to $2T for First Time

Early crypto adopters vs. crypto newbies

Unlike bitcoin’s impressive growth since early 2020, much of it driven by institutional investors, the altcoin rally may have been fueled by early crypto adopters and retail investors who are newly arriving to the space.
The above quote is the point. Bitcoin is the game for all but altcoin season is the game for whales, early crypto adopters and newbies. Unfortunately but it is the fact that this game is The Game of Death for Crypto newbies.

If we compare it to the previous alt season which happened at 2018 when Bullrun started and it is the same year that ended and started the bear market. As far as I remember, alt season happened that year and we saw a lot of altcoins are pumping, even how shit altcoin is it is pumping. And after that, we saw a very long bear market.

There are two situations that I think could happen. Bitcoin will drop to the 50k, 48k, 45k, or 42k support zone. Maybe Bitcoin will regain its domain and suck the life of altcoins to increase the value to a new ATH.
In the above two cases I am inclined to the trend that Bitcoin will continue to increase in price.

after altseason, some of these altcoins are going to fade out and die just like in 2018 where the project that goes up in 2017 had now been gone. there are few that will remain because their team is still trying to succeed.

whenever the altcoin season begins to end, you don't buy BTC because BTC will also drop, just go directly buy stablecoin. i would probably buy yuan instead of usdt this time.

With "alt seasons", while it's likely that bitcoin also goes up in price, it usually lags behind most altcoins. Though investing in altcoins sounds great, it isn't really that much of a good idea for an "investment", because it's pretty tough to pick which altcoins are going to actually survive for years. I'd personally make trades, but not investments outside of BTC.

Trading altcoins is a big help to accumulate more bitcoin because the chance of getting a 50% gain or more in an altcoin is high during this alt season. It is not that hard to choose which altcoin to invest for long term, just look at the top 10 and if you will research about them they are continuous doing their roadmap or ongoing projects. Just look at BNB now, it started from 2$ way back 2017 and it is top 3 now in the coinmarketcap. For small crypto trader like me, we prefer altcoin because trading bitcoin now does not give that much profit compared to altcoins.

For the OP, it depends what will happen after alt season. If btc dominance increase then it could make new ATH again. If not then we could see some major correction like 20% for bitcoin, if this happens alt would suffer more so I suggest before this happens have some stablecoins prepared to buy during this correction.

We are so early to predict such a trend. BTC only in the 12th year and the crypto market has seen 4/5 bullrun so far. So, this is very small data size I think to predict what's gonna happen.
Usually, after BTC bull, altseason comes because most people can switch a good amount of USD in altcoin market as they had a good amount of profit from BTC.
Once, altseason ends, we see a gradual downward movement. I'm saying this from 2018 experience. However, this may not follow all the time. Till now, we really don't have coins with every day use. If such things exist truely, things may change in the future.
Now, back to the main topic. We have never seen a lot of institutional investors are joining the market. If more investors come at the ground, we may not see BTC getting dumped to previous stage.

Op you have such an advance thinking we are just starting into altseason and you are now concerned once it ends but I do understand we must all prepare for the next move of alts in the next few months so I suggest to avoid losing money always take profit no one knows when this altseason lasts it can be next year or this year just be prepared but I believe this altseason will be different from previous one something big is coming to crypto, btw my short answer to your question price of alts will dump hard.

What usually happens to Bitcoin after Alt season? Does the value go down? Or it goes up again?
If you are asking about the instant effect well no one knows because this is far different from what we had last 2018 when after altseason Bit coin continues to fall down and become much lower the whole 2019.
But Hopefully this altcoin season is just a segway before Bitcoin Hits the top to 100k this 2021 .(Who knows right?)

When they got tired of alts and taken their profits then it's either they will be back to Bitcoin and Ethereum or just stay with cash.
Staying with cash or stablecoins means they are waiting for the right entry price they prefer.
NFT's are still being hyped so I won't be considering that just yet.
With investment being divided, the demand will not soar that high. Bitcoin might just play at 55-65k if the hype won't deteriorate.

Yea.. no. BNB is just one of a few investments that's ended up being worth it (at least currently). The other "top coins" though? Take a quick look at their charts vs BTC.

Mostly traders wouldn't want their money to be unstable, so they will just mostly put it in their preferred stablecoin.
For Bitcoin, it is kinda mixed of both because not everyone is into Bitcoin and are just purely alt's investors.
No wonder why some lower coins tend to get pumped from its low price. Cheesy

it looks like what will happen with Alt season, it is not at all affected by the state of bitcoin. because it is precisely bitcoin that makes Alt season not the other way around. we have to admit that so far bitcoin has played that role.

Since last year, altcoins have not been able to make maximum movements because of the very high influence of bitcoin in making daily movements. in fact, the effect was still until the beginning of the year bitcoin continued to move and even did ATH in succession. currently bitcoin is in a stable situation, allowing altcoins to move freely.

First alt season needs to happen then they think beyond that. Cool

Mostly the traders who are looking for alt season are those who never wished they got into that altcoin. So there starts the endless cycle of despair.

Point is that bitcoin being high made the altcoins rise too. In case someone makes a profit by selling at that time they call it alt season. At the end of this "altcoin pump" there will be an inevitable dump and the prices of altcoins will go back down again.

If it goes back up again, which rarely happens, count your lucky stars and sell off the rest of your altcoins and get rid of that cesspool in your wallet.
