anyone can easily create their own token on waves or mintme. You should start by figuring out what problem it will solve, not make it first then look for a usecase.

You asked if it's good idea to own your own coin? I don't think you are even sure what you are up against here, are you sure you have something good to offer? Are you sure you are up to be a worthy developer? What's your plan? What are you trying to solve? This is the most important thing

If you want to start project and create the coin. You need to offer value added from other project. Like ethereum offer smart contract, Tron offer smart contract and faster transactions, or if you want to make DeFi project make the project open source and bult comunity like Sovryn. Create coin or token is easy but built community is hard to do.

making your own token is indeed a dream because if the coins are useful and there are many benefits we will get ..
but all that requires teamwork that really understands the flow of coin making, by offering an ico and starting to give confidence to potential investors who will buy..

You need to be a blockchain developer or can hire someone who can do this for you and everything can be done with $100 but it does make any sense to create a project with no real idea and future. First you need to find the idea which should be unique and also need to be futuristic so that people will get interest and invest on your project.

Depends why you want it.
If it's just a vanity coin, do it on testnet, otherwise be prepared to shill out $10k+ for a coin and a smart contract

github, stackoverflow, udemy or even youtube can provide you a good example on how to create an altcoin. But first of all, you need to have rudimentary material of computer coding which cause you a few months to learn. I guess you can do it because I already see that you have a willing desire

Life is all about trying an error that you know the outcome might be visible, hope you know that.
Are you creating a coin or you are creating a token. You need to know that tokens (e.g Erc20 and BEP20 tokens) are very different from coins.
Are you creating this token/coin for testing or adding value as well. If you are creating and adding value, it's very time consuming and cost especially you alone, it will likely fail.
Why not assemble people if you have the capital funds to run a project and be the ceo or confounder. You don't need  stress to create this tokens/coins. The developers you hired will do the job and they get paid.

Your last sentence doesn't assume anything good ... If you ask this kind of question, then probably you don't have a great idea, a good project. I may be wrong but if only the attraction of money gives you this motivation then you should go your way.

everyone can create their own altcoin on various blockchains on eth if i remember correctly through minereum, on waves through their platform and on bsc through a dapp, they all have negligible creation costs

I think generally it's a good idea, but given a very large number of altcoins on the market right now I think you should think more about the idea behind your project. Creating just another coin might not be enough and will be a waste of time and money, think of something unique, that will be distinctive.
I also have a project in mind and plan on creating an altcoin, and, funny enough, I was going to create a thread like the one you did here, but, as I can see from the answers, not many people here have an exact idea of how to do it.
Although, I'm pretty sure that knowing Python won't be sufficient. From what I've read, a good knowledge of C++, Solidity, and Java is very preferable, even though, as far as I know, it's possible to create your own cryptocurrency based on the programming script of Bitcoin or Ethereum. I suggest you hire a professional. Not just a programmer, but the one who's had experience in this field, to avoid some long-term horrible consequences.
Good luck with your project!

First, you have to decide, do you want to use the ethereum or binance platform? after that you have to determine the project idea you want to build. Gathering a team, through marketing with airdrops or bounties.
To create token you can use https://mywish.io/ I think there are many more websites that provide similar things

Making one is easy because there have been services that I've seen that will make you own altcoin for a cheap price. But I don't know if those service are really going to make your coin marketable or it's just for the sake that you own your own coin without a market. Just like a project and thesis matter. But anyway, if you have no idea how to make one, just don't do it. If you're asking if it's a good idea to own your own coin, don't do it.

The first thing you you need to do to create something new in the industry is to find a problem and solve it with a solution. That's the only way to reach the community attention in cryptoverse.
Just like bitcoin solve the problem of freedom of money.

It's easy to create one on the Waves and Tron platform you can but what's the purpose of creating your altcoin, you did not mention it, is it for your group or company use, I hope you are not going to launch crowdfunding there's thousands of pump and dump coins already, let's leave token or coin creation to experts and just use an existing coin in the market, but if you are serious you can check Youtube and Medium sites for articles on coin creation.

There's many people who you can pay to create coin nowadays even in freelancing website many people offer to create coin ERC20 or BEP20 for quite cheap price but remember that it's just a coin with no dapps, defi, nothing.
If you truly don't want to do rugpull then try to learn solidity first, strengthen your foundation at programming smart contract and then you can create some kind of dapp alongside with tokens which ofcourse need to be creative and distinguishable if you want it to succeed because if you just intend to create plain coin then that means you just trying to grab instant money.

If you didn't know anything especially from the start and basic then that's the main reason why you should not pursue your dream about starting altcoin. First of all, you need a team to develop the product that you want to build or else you will spend many years on coding it. This is not the right place to ask this question though. Go to project development and try to find some people who will join you. You can't do this alone.

to make coins maybe we can make it, but most importantly to develop and make a successful altcoin in the crypto market of course requires a lot of money, from promotional fees to market entry fees, if only to make altcoins, in my opinion, it is not too complicated

Since you ask about solidity, it becomes clear you will create a token, not a coin that will be running on its native blockchain.
A token means it will have some kind of utility, perhaps being used in a website or game. It could be an NFT too.

Writting a token code is not as important as making a plan for its success.
First of all you have to wonder why you want to create another token. Ethereum may even have soon a million different tokens. I don't know if there is data on that. Developers were creating these by hundreds each day.

Then you need a plan, a roadmap, a whitepaper, funds for marketing and any costs that can appear, probably you will need a team, as you won't be able to do everything on your own.

And lastly you will need connections. Solo devs are rarely making it nowadays. It's not like what it used to be, when someone was copying the Bitcoin code, forking and making a new cryptocurrency. We have thousands of these already.
