I know little about stocks and I had never invested in it so I think my answer will be biased here. Cryptocurrencies. It's easy. You are your own bank and manager. You don't need the help of anyone (broker) to buy it. You just need to sign up with an exchange, use your bank account to buy it and your invested. Selling and buying doesn't have deep explanation too. You just input your order and wait for it to be filled. People before rely on stability and security and stocks is the answer for that but not in this era. Higher risk with higher profit. We want a faster way to make money rather than rely with the old ways where it doesn't move much.

It depends on what you mean by better. I happen to think that stocks are better if you're talking about retirement accounts and owning investments that provide income (in the form of dividends). The latter is one thing that bitcoin doesn't provide, although other coins do--and I'm thinking of proof-of-stake coins in particular here. And as far as owning stocks vs. bitcoin for the long term, I'd have to go with stocks simply because they're much less volatile and have a longer track record.
But if you're talking about trading and making short-term profits, I'd say crypto is the way to go (although you could certainly make money trading stocks).
Both types of assets have their respective advantages/disadvantages. You'd just to have to know when to take advantage of them for your own financial gain. As long as you're able to remain financially independent, nothing else matters. Those who're able to manage both crypto and stocks will obtain greater opportunities for profit than those who only hold one of the two. Investors trust stocks more than crypto, because they're stable and widely regulated by mainstream governments. But things could change as crypto becomes more popular in the mainstream world. Nonetheless, it's up to you to decide which type of asset to invest for your own financial benefit. As long as you're able to minimize losses, you'll be able to avoid bankruptcy in the long run. I'd stay with crypto since it brings higher rewards than stocks themselves. The only downside is that the risks are higher with crypto than with stocks. Hopefully, stocks will make use of Blockchain technology in order to bring an influx of institutional investors and traders into crypto land. Just my opinion

People have often compared crypto to stocks since owning a coin, represents your "share" of the decentralized blockchain network. Exchanges act as brokers in a similar fashion to traditional stocks. While stocks are fiercely regulated, crypto is the "wild west". Cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile, while stocks are much more stable. Despite crypto/Blockchain tech's popularity, stocks are still preferred by mainstream investors and traders alike. Which asset types do you think are better: crypto or stocks? Is crypto getting closer to becoming regulated just like stocks? What do you think will happen if institutional investors come into play? Will stocks transition themselves to the Blockchain? Or is it still too early to tell? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. As you may guess since we are in a bitcoin forum most people are going to prefer bitcoin over any other type of investment, the great advantage of stocks is that stocks can pay dividends unlike bitcoin, now some coins have tried to imitate this behavior but the problem is that they have done so by becoming PoS when we know the best way to secure the network is PoW and as such that is a compromise that we should never accept.

could you provide more details why PoW is the best way to secure the network, seems that you put it here as dogma, while it is far from being the one and only way to secure the network there are ways to receive dividend regardless of PoS, but of course stocks and crypto are not the same, stock are dealing with ownership rights, crypto should repurpose complete management for companies, with DAO in process

Here in my country, only people with complete knowledge and businesses can go with stocks but with crypto, there is no discrimination. Stocks needs requirements that an ordinary individual cannot provide but with crypto, DYOR is the only thing we need and centralized requirements like KYC's are optional.

To trade of stock, you need to verify the kyc. It's more or less a criticism by the investors.Based on their investment, they will need to pay the money as a tax.Tax paying is not a obstacle,it only hurt you when you are forced to pay huge amount as a tax.To avoid such things, investment on a crypto will be better option for traders. In some platform,no need to verify kyc.

Will stocks transition themselves to the Blockchain? Or is it still too early to tell? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. People might make the comparison between crypto and stocks often, but it's usually a shallow comparison. No doubt, lots of people have gotten rich from cryptocurrency but that was mostly down to luck rather than painstaking analysis that can take place with companies. There is a lot more historical fact to base your stockmarket investing on than the just over 10 years that bitcoin has been around, so trends have a lot more evidence (even recessions tend to have an average frequency). When you look at a company you should see clear inputs and outputs, with the profits either being paid out in dividends or reinvested in expansion. Some companies have over 50 years of dividend growth, which means their payout to shareholders has progressively grown over time through good and bad markets. When you look at Bitcoin, nobody really knows why it is moving up in price, other than it is a desirable and limited quantity "digital gold" asset that can avoid banking regulation - allowing it to be sold to another person at an ever greater price. Lots of people like the very rapid upwards trajectory of Bitcoin, punctuated by a few rapid falls in value, but personally I like the slow and steady approach that owning stocks allows. It's helpful to have both, but I think Bitcoin (like precious metals) should make up a small portion of any long term investment portfolio because it is so volatile.

I prefer crytocurrency more than stocks because in cryto there is no minimum or maximum amount to buy or sell.In terms of stability stock is more stable than crytocurrency while cryto is more volatile which guarantes more profits in terms of trading.Crytocurrencies can easily increases in value when kept for some short period of time while stocks takes longer time sometimes years before it appreciate in values so I will definitely go with crytos.

Crypto is already being regulated in some places , centralized exchanges in the cryptocurrency market are where the regulation starts, and that’s where it ends, because they can’t continue keeping an eye on it when it’s out of there. When it comes to decentralized exchanges you don’t know who owns an address, exchanges are P2P and people don’t reveal their identity. But as for centralized exchanges, it’s always clear who owns the address because users have to submit some of their information and sometimes full information that will disclose everything about them, and that helps regulators to know everything about them.

You can buy as much as you can with crypto but the exchanges have also limits and minimum amount. But what's good with them is that the minimum amount is really a small amount that can be followed by every kind of investor and trader. Crytocurrencies can easily increases in value when kept for some short period of time while stocks takes longer time sometimes years before it appreciate in values so I will definitely go with crytos.
I agree about stocks, the stocks are growing and needing a long time to grow.

This kind of comparison will always stay as long as the top re still ongoing. However never, it may also depend on the treaty and also fund management. Nowadays, many traders from stocks are coming into cryptoruccery. This is because of the very high price volatile because i, it can give them bad impact old
But here, what's about the shitcoints that are used to be very hype and then attract so many people playing that gambling casino both online and hoffline??

I agree about stocks, the stocks are growing and needing a long time to grow. Short term or long term in my opinion these two instruments are not much different. Stocks are also suitable for the short term as well as crypto. However, the most crucial thing is that crypto does not have an underlying asset whereas stocks do not. Because the underlying asset is clear, the risk of stocks is also not that great, it makes sense that the resulting return is lower than crypto.

Asking someone which one to choose between stock and crypto in a crypto dominated forum is pretty much a useless thing since the majority is going to be favoring cryptocurrency.

I think it is still possible to make stock in form of cryptocurrency as long as it is regulated and not anonymous. Not all stocks are good just like cryptocurrencies, there are only bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies that are good. For now I prefer bitcoin because although it is volatile but sometimes it's benefit me. If I there is a company that give big amount of dividend then I'll think about it, maybe I will be more focus on stocks if there is company like that, but unfortunately many companies use the profit that it get for company's improvement.

Honestly I did not invest a single penny into stocks in last ten years. Yeah, even before I was entering into the crypto space, I have lost all my faith on stocks because of economy rate of my country. After I got into crypto world, I invested all my efforts only into bitcoins and then I went for slight diversification. In recent times, after pandemic, I read how consistently few of stocks are performing even in hard times which made to think about investing into stocks but I simply ignored my second thoughts as I have bitcoins and I do not need to go for anything else. But, I will invest in real-estate and gold for my tradition reasons.

You are right! Probably the majority of us never had anything with stocks, the only place where we hear about stock exchanges is in the movies and some serials (at least in my case), so why would we even think about stocks and all that when we have crypto, and that works just fine for us! And I guess once someone tastes crypto and freedom that crypto offers, without unnecessary documentation, procedures, etc... it's kinda hard to even think about trying to trade with stocks, or for some people to return to that!

Short term profit? it's definitely crypto. maybe I'll only buy certain stocks if there's only a big enough event to significantly influence the price, apart from that, I really prefer crypto. Crypto is simpler, easier and is also able to generate decent profits in a short time when compared to stocks

Do you remember the game stop incident in January that made the world bustling? Immediately many players shared complaining and turned to Crypto. all will turn to crypto in time. In terms of stock security, it is safer because it is fully regulated, the company can be reached. while crypto is almost no clarity physically, but the profit is very pronounced

But that doesn't mean that we have to not dabble with stock though, I mean that is still a way to make money and I think that you should be slowly diversifying your portfolio as it grows because we all know how the crypto bucket is volatile so having some form of stock in your portfolio, you can be less worried when the bucket is on the red because you still make money.

I am little confused with your comment; you are seeming like talking about the benefits of stocks and crypto at a time. Game stop incident led people to adopt crypto, fine but stock is regulated hence it is secured, I do not think so because even registered corporates go bankrupted at times. Why you need clarity physically? I mean do you refer anything like you need more proof? Both are having some level of risks but when considering benefit levels, why not we go along with high ROI thing? Moreover crypto is decentralized which makes less prone to getting disappointments unlike stocks investments.
