In my very own opinion, based on what I am read on the internet and what I am noticing since Elon Musk and Tesla adopt cryptocurrency as their partners in their company many happen. Just for example when Elon Musk hype the meme coin which is the dogecoin, it hypes very well, and to the extent that the doge surges up and another thing is the bitcoin. When Tesla which is own by the famous and manipulator Elon Musk the market and the bitcoin extent to its limit also. Elon Musk is using crypto of course to boost Tesla and Space X but the crypto is also using him to manipulate the market.

Elon musk is a smart guy, he pretty much knows where to find the money he needs to get his babies into space... is lying in crypto, fiat might have it but there is so much paper work to do. And his answer still doubles back to crypto.

At this moment his still a crypto ambassador but I see him trying to get his numbers favour his business and doge....in this short time it wouldn't surprise me to see Tesla go green on the market.

I am pretty certain this all was just an attempt to thwart the main goal of cryptocurrency so to gain more customers for his companies.
In several ways:
1. Appear on a national syndicate television show and say something to garner an audience world-wide and have a play on words so to leave speculation for what everybody was expecting to happen but it didn't.
2. Once he had everyone's focus say something else which will leave a bad taste in those investors mouth.
3. Tweet out that using a certain cryptocurrency is bad for the environment but I am here to fix that with said other crytpocurrency he garnered speculation on.
4. Present his solution that the company in which he owns will be providing clean energy to those who are using the cryptocurrency which is bad for the environment.
5. Gather more attention to said company and tells of the first cryptocurrency will be paying for his second company's journey into space.

Seems like he had it all thought out and is just setting his plan in motion.

This guy is not good in the crypto community imo. He manipulates the crypto market to earn more money for his SpaceX project. He distracts the public by shilling doge and saying bad things about bitcoin to buy at a lower price. If bitcoin moves up, he can decide to sell his holdings to fund his SpaceX project then manipulate the market again to cause a panic again. If one or two of those top 10 holders of doge will sell their holdings that can cause dogecoin to go less than $0.1 then I think his dogecoin believers will stop following him and his madness will stop.

i also think this is just a start the way he tries to attack bitcoin might also backfire
when the community-driven coin retaliate he will never know when he will become one of the crypto clowns
the attack he is doing to the bitcoin community is not only financially but also mentally

IMO, He's not doing it for Tesla or SpaceX because those businesses have already accomplished great things without cryptocurrency. Elon Musk is doing this to aid cryptocurrency's massive adoption around the world by initiating this type of operation.

If Elon Musk is a great manager, why are his statements so contradictory about Bitcoin? At first, with his mentions of Bitcoin, he made him a good advertisement, and he himself saw it and understood their influence on the masses and on the cryptocurrency market. He also had to understand how negatively his latest negative comment about Bitcoin would affect this market. As a manager, he must also understand that he will lose some of his income from owning bitcoins if he says so. Moreover, he actually said a lie, since Bitcoin is mined on electricity, which is produced not only from the combustion of hydrocarbons such as coal and fuel oil, but also from clean renewable energy sources. That is, any energy is consumed that is generated from any sources that are in a certain area. I do not see foresight in these actions and statements by Elon Musk.

Because he is a massive troll. That is all there is to it.
He plays these games because in his mind he thinks its cute or people will see it as humorous but in reality it is not.
I believe he intentionally puts up a barrier to see things from another person's point of view of what he deems as the right way to do things but are far from it.
Remember when there were that thailand kid soccer team trapped in a cave? He ended up getting sued by one of the rescue divers who he called a pedophile. All because he said he didn't want elon's help in the matter and they will get those kids out themselves.

I don't think that EM has never done any previous research on crypto because he is such a smart person that even in taking short profits for just 2 months he has already made a profit of 128 M USD on selling 10% of his BTC.  But what I really regret about all of his words, why are there so many coins on the market, only DOGE is fully supported by him?  This is just a meme coin on all coins with good fundamentals, why not another coin.  Very disappointing, he seemed to be gambling with a large capital.

I think that he has done research about bitcoin and other altcoin.
Why he choose dogecoin because if he can get let say 30% until 50% total supply within 2019 till 2020 and promote them at the end of the year.
How much he can earn now?
