I'd have doubts about trusting them any more.
I know Yoshi Goto used to run it, but have no idea who does now.
Someone on my pool bought a miner from them recently.
It came with firmware that took a 2% fee - but the guy who bought it never knew about it.
Kano, we appreciate your comment.
Some ASIC miners, indeed, have third-party firmware installed. It allows you to increase the energy efficiency of the device and maximize profits, for which a commission of 2% is charged. Even then, the profitability and efficiency of such a device is much higher than that of a device with the original firmware.
Not in this case.
The miner ran no better with that 2% fee being taken from them, vs running original firmware asicboost enabled (with no fee).
So all that means is it was wearing it out faster so you could send a 2% fee to someone.
Please let us know if third-party software is unacceptable for you, and we will install the official manufacturer's firmware on all your hardware within 1 day.
Thank you for your feedback. Your comments will allow us to improve our service.
Yours sincerely,
MYRIG team.
The people at the datacentre were a joke, when asked to do this they finally ended up setting it with old firmware and no asicboost.
You should instead put original firmware in what you are selling with asicboost enabled,
rather than setting up miners to pay slush pool and not informing people about that hidden extra 2% fee you are taking from them forever.
