having a conversation with a friend today , he was asking me if he should sell or hold a coin. i didnt give a straight answer, i just told him the project is a good one that can do well but if you are willing to wait then you can hold but if you need some money then you can sell off. he then replied that he will wait for an additional 25% increase before he would sell off. i think i tried my best to let him make his final decision himself. is there any better way to do this? if it were you, how would you respond to this. ??

I think you did the right thing and your logic is really correct. People have to make their own decisions based on their intuition and the information they have.

When it comes to someone's financial decisions and future, he must have made the decision, not listen and do literally something someone else has told him.

The only thing you can do is give them your personal opinion without forcing it on others.

Another variable to think about is what other opportunities is he looking at. If buy selling/exiting his current position (or partially exit), is there another more promising project/token that he can put his money into.

Doesn't have to all or none. Manage a portfolio of opportunities and rebalance the amounts when needed as the different projects/tokens evolve.

In my personal view Holding it down feels that the project's future is bright, regardless of how long it takes to hold due to current market conditions, the most important thing is that as long as they have a solid project work trip, it's worth following. SO if you believe in a project you can hold it until bull market end.

Your advice is very good, but you also need to know that everyone has a different way of life even though we are all on the same earth, but the procedure for living life is different, so everyone who saves coins and Altcoins, it really depends on their abilities and the capital he has.

Always the big factor of having a much deeper capital, what I mean is, when you have more resources you can hold for longer time unlike with those who only got limited amount of available fund.

There's a big difference in terms of balancing your money, the one who got wider capabilities can take it for long and the one who needs the money in a short span mostly sell it out and try to find ways to do the scalp.

In my case, if I see that my investment double then I rather get my initial investment and then hold the profit for a long term basis especially if I know that my hodlings has a very good potential for long term.

Sometimes i don't wanna be torn between the decision and my friends owned items . it is hard to be in the middle because i should care and easy to decide with my own money and investments than my friends .
because at least if i made it wrong then i will never have to blame others when my friends lose surely at any cost either he will blame me or i will blame myself forever.

It depends entirely on the coin, if it's BTC or ETH for example then that's a good advice because even if market crashes to almost zero these coins still have big future ahead of them but if it's some meme coin it's shitcoin that won't live long, might even die in bear market

I agree with you. I understand that your trading method also determines how you are able to take that decision to HODl. If you are also more into Derivatives trading, I believe at some point in the market you are forced to get out. I think the best Hodlers are the investors and not the traders, this way, they know it is just a matter of time before the market recovers that is even if it takes a couple of years.

Taking a profit of your hold is not a bad thing hence we are in crypto to earn some profit and that's why it's always best to take profit when it's time to cash out but don't sell all, you can make 50 50 for future holds. I have some bad experiences that holding too much that greed will surely be the best enemy, that's why always take profit no matter what because bear market will always be unpredictable.

The solution you say is true, but I also have a simpler solution than that, where when a coin is already in the market and is pumping well, it would be better to sell it first at a high price then wait a little longer when the price drops so that we can buy back in large quantities, this is part of the trading strategy that I have been running so far.

Looks good strategy but how long would we be able to keep up this plan. The current market trend too much troublesome to survive, and going through according plan kinda tough tough. what if, every time you but then it drops more? we could short and make some money instead of building large quantities. Hold and but every dip but know your limit.
