This is the birthplace of crypto and many people learnt alot from here. is it not fair for this platform to get a token that can be traded in the market. other content management platform has then own crypto that are been traded and use as a means of rewards to their users.
please don't say bitcoin. currently, not everyone can afford bitcoin now. we need an altcoin as an alternative token here for payment of service.

You should go to the meta section for this and there are some people have been talking about this and then this is a forum and any campaign that available on the bitcointalk is a bonus. There will be no bitcoin talk token. I guess you can find some threads about BTT token easily on meta. Try to go there dude.

Everyone could afford a piece of Bitcoin we don't actually need to own a whole piece or send a whole piece of Bitcoin so I don't see any problem with it. I think I would love the idea if it would be what all of the bounties would pay their hunters. It would ensure that the hunters would get what has been promised to them and the bounty manager should also hold at least half of the allocated reward so if anything happens the hunter would still get paid for their work. |

I thought that Bitcoin or BTC is the token of BitcoinTalk Forum, so why need to create a new one? IMO, the BitcoinTalk forum was created for this purpose to disseminate information about cryptocurrency and I believe the worth of this forum is much more compared to the Bitcoin market capitalization that's my opinion about it. |

We are on a Bitcoin forum, so using bitcoin as a popular currency in the forum is enough. Creating a token or coin will make it more difficult to regulate. This forum was created by Satoshi and we use Bitcoin, which shows the highest respect for the creator of the first cryptocurrency.

If theymos has plans he probably had done it long time ago.
I don't know if there is a plan for it. Hard to see what it would be for because the bounty campaigns alone is already an incentive for users to participate in the discussions. This isn't like cryptotalk that will distribute useless TALK coins.

You don't have to own the full 1 bitcoin just considering the current price. You can always convert even your $ 1 into small units of bitcoin, namely satoshi (sats). So there's no reason people can't afford bitcoin.

What service do you mean? As far as I am concerned, the bitcointalk does not have a service for paying members. If you have a service, you are free to choose bitcoin or existing altcoins as the payment you accept.

I'm not seeing any possibility for that to happen. Because for using this platform fair and legit way, you do not need to pay anything; if you want higher membership to show pictures then you can go for paying some fee for copper membership other than that I'm not seeing anything charged here (except monthly auction for banner display). I remember there were lots of similar suggestions were made but Theymos never listened to them. Some people suggested to make merits as a coin/token but that also had been rejected by this community and by our honorable admin (theymos). |

I wonder what people mean when they say Bitcoin is not affordable. I guess you said that because of fees, or do you mean everyone can't afford 1 BTC ? You can buy any amount of bitcoin and still benefit from the price increase. I don't see much difference between people owning $10 worth of bitcoin & $10 worth of altcoin and using it on the forum.. The fees will probably discourage users from small/micro transactions

Howeycoins is so much good and successful that bitcoin talk would never require another token. Though I think, an internal blockchain and token would be cool for such and epic forum. It doesn't need to have a monetarily value and maybe never get listed on any exchange but work within the forum only. Could experiment with new algos and make a POS coin. We could experiment merits as tokens which could yield another token called smerit just like how NEO is to GAS but it would turn into merit once sent to another user. That's just an example, but we could experiment something. |

Ah well, and what properties should a Bitcointalk token have that other coins don't already have? It would have to be something innovative, otherwise it would be just another unnecessary altcoin. |

Even if bitcointalk have it own token it will serve no purpose majority of the forum members here focuses on the major cryptocurrencies the market is already flooded with all sort of tokens thus making it difficult to pick potential ones for investment creating another bitcointalk coin is of no use this will divert attention of the main aim and purpose of establishing the forum, the forum is like a reservoir for all sort of information related to cryptos and problems solving forum for any technical issues relating to cryptos.

If bitcointalk creates a token than those token also needs to have a sort of utility otherwise it will not get any adoption or trading volumen. One utility could be that stuff like copper membership can only be bought with that new token but i don't see that as a big advantage over the current method where you pay with btc. On the other hand there are so many tokens out there that have no real usecase and utility and still have a high marketcap but i still feel that a bitcointalk token is not really neccessary. |

Don't say this. Everyone can afford to buy bitcoin, it's not a requirement that you should be purchasing 1 bitcoin as a whole. You can buy in satoshis or mbtc at different quantities. You don't actually have to own one thus your goal is to own one until it reaches to the highest possible price that you can ever imagine. It's the misunderstanding about buying bitcoin, it's expensive because of its price but it doesn't mean that everyone is restricted to buy it because there's still a way to buy bitcoin and you can purchase a little by little of it. |

They have already been discussed this thing but unfortunately, there wasn't any fruit about their discussion. I think it's impossible for us to implement any coins right now since we are just mainly focused on how to improve our long time community which is the best from all of the crypto community exist today. But different things might come in the future where our board member and staff would change their mind and finally create our own token which will no doubt became one of the most popular tokens if ever that happened.

No other token is absolutely necessary for the payment, issuing a token for the bitcointalk would only be a reason to generate relatively simple revenue but the work will be enormous to keep this value high. They will need to create an ecosystem around the token and use cases for its use. |

So, you people are talking about a token which is not having a use case still? Then what is the purpose of such token? Only speculative purposes? I do not think this will work. A token or coin must be created to solve a problem by providing a solution and not in the manner of fund rising reason alone. This way I believe there will be no need of going for creating a token specialized for this forum. If any one of us, will be coming up with proper reason for having such a token, then I will agree to have without any hesitations. |
