Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot

In an attempt to increase the number of people getting vaccinated all kind of incentives are being given in the US, one of the most interesting is that those that get at least the first dose of the vaccine at Ohio will have a chance to win one million dollars, apparently there will five be prizes so a total five million dollars will be given for those that are willing to take the vaccine, and for those that are below the age of 18 there will be full scholarships being offered as well.

I see nothing wrong with it and it will actually be an advantage since lots of people these days are afraid to get vaccinated. It will encourage more people to get shots in the said State because of the incentives. The vaccine is really necessary to end this pandemic and the government should apply tactics like this to attract more people to be vaccinated.

Lucky for those who do reside into that particular country on where they do have this kind of lottery ticket or entry once they do get vaccinated which is indeed a bonus.

The primary motive here is to ensure up your health against the virus on which is the main priority for now.For some people who do mind about money then this would be a good chance

but for sure not all would really be that interested rather than on doing this for the sake of safety but remember that nothing is purely safe even we do get the shot.

Myself wont really be still that confident on taking a shot.It takes years or long time before it would be prove to be effective or doesnt really impose any side effects.Its understandable that majority of people are still afraid because of the risk of side effects which can really be plausible.If this is the way that their government to encourage its citizens then i can say that it is a good initiative for them to do so.
Its up to someone if they would get convince on this kind of method or just simply ignore and wont really be that fascinated about those chances on w inning a million.

In my opinion, maybe because there are some things that are considered so that they impose it. Indeed, the vaccine is being discussed and always becoming pros and cons. There are many people who agree to carry out vaccines, but not a few are opposed because of the vaccine choices used. Some other people feel afraid of the negative effects of the vaccine that might cause side effects, pain, abnormalities, to death. It also happens in my country, the pros and cons of the vaccine used.

People doesnt really have the same kind of mentality when it comes to things, some are open minded and some are not and just stick out on what they do believe.
Its not that they do easy to believe but rather there some basis in regards into those things that they have seen on recent events or news which they do solely
focus out on the side effects that it may give and this is why people would rather choose on not to get those shots or vaccine rather than

This is a good way to get people vaccinated and will also help other business establishments to go back to normal. The risk of getting covid in that town will surely decrease as well as mortality rate. But even if they are vaccinated I hope they don't get confident that they won't contract the virus again or else the lottery's effort will go to waste. I don't know why some people still hesitate to get the vaccine, their mind is filled with misinformation from social media. People who died when they got the vaccine are only isolated case and most of them are already old so they are not able to handle the side effects, if you are old enough, for me it is better to not get vaccinated for now.

Maybe that is because a level of awareness from people about the vaccine is not too high so they think that the vaccine can not help them protect their lives from the virus. Or people do not want to get a vaccine so the government is launching this lottery to invite people to have the vaccine. Maybe the government needs to take another approach to their people while the lottery can still running. They can educate their people to understand that the vaccine is important for their bodies.

I don't have any objections in state governments encouraging their citizens to take vaccine. But what is the need for this monetary compensation? Citizens must be thankful to the government for making the vaccines freely available to them. It is shameful that a section of the population refuses to take the vaccine and the state government has to resort to these tactics to get everyone vaccinated. If the US is having surplus vaccines, then please send them to third world countries. Why force someone who don't want the vaccine.

I think those who get COVID shots are giving a lottery prize of ten million dollars to all the citizens of the country. Be brought under the ticker if the vaccine is sent to protect tens of millions of dollars in hospitals and people in the community who have not been vaccinated then the risk of the virus will be reduced there are many patients in the hospital who are suffering more due to a lack of proper treatment. No, I disagree, if I were in that state I'd be challenging the lottery run by: governor of Ohio, this is ridiculous, If, people take part in competitions, let alone get to drink the vaccine, that's a ridiculous idea for an official I've seen around the world.

Injection of the vaccine with a minimal dose has an effect, what's more by drinking it, maybe $ 1 million is a big bill, but the effect may be greater after the medical costs after taking the vaccine, exceeding $ 1 million, honestly I don't agree if my governor does that kind of lottery, it's the same as killing for the participants of the lottery.

to me, this is an interesting trick to get people to be vaccinated against...

In my city the majority of people do not want vaccines for fear of what will happen to the body, maybe tricks like this can imitate the head of my city area.

Me? lol i would rather not win 1 million than to make my self uneasy from that vaccine.

I don't know why people are still resisting vaccination. Already more than 1 billion people have been vaccinated around the world. If this vaccine was so bad, then millions would have died and many more would have become handicapped. Has any of that happened? Unfortunately these people who are refusing to get vaccinated are posing a health hazard to others around them. Because unless 70% of the population is vaccinated, herd immunity can't be achieved. The unvaccinated people will continue to be carriers of the disease and it will linger on until the effects of the first vaccination campaign is gone (the effect of vaccine only lasts for 1 to 5 years, and after that it needs to be repeated).

People are withing their rights to refuse the vaccine, but as you say it is better if the majority takes it, after all we are seeing new mutations of the virus which seem to spread faster and are even more lethal, this is what it is happening in India and now we are seeing the horrible results, also I think that even if people do not want to take the vaccine in order to protect others it makes sense to at least take it not only for their own health but also because I do not think they want to be on a lockdown again, which could happen if the new mutations of the virus prove to be resistant to the vaccine and we are back at square one.

I wouldn't want my tax dollars going towards incentives for getting vaccines.  Other than that I don't see a problem with it.  If people are willing to compromise themselves for a lotto ticket, they are free to do so.  Personally, I think this is a bit of a case of using people's ignorance to get them to do what you want.  Obviously the odds are bad that someone would win this, but I'm sure it isn't stopping people from trying to get their shot for a lotto ticket.  If you flash some money you can get people who are bad at math to do just about anything.
