I think that every state should seriously consider splitting the prize pool up so that there can be lots of winners with a lower amount. They could take that $1 million and offer 20 weekly prizes of $50,000 or 10 fortnightly prizes of $100,000. It would help many more people, keep the scheme going for longer and should still achieve exactly the same effect. At the current rate of vaccinations that would cover 3-4 months worth of prizes and get more publicity for the cause. I think anyone who would be susceptible to a monetary reward in return for vaccination would see those as worthy amounts. Sometimes you have to give a good idea a little rethink and optimization.

Thats a good initiative to encourage their contituents to be vaccinated, its like an incentives while making yourself safe to become infected of the virus. However there's still questions that need to be answered before letting yourself to have a shot of vaccine, like the brand and effectiveness plus the effect of it in our body or if there's a contraindication if you're taking other medicines.

The price is huge so its not surprising if many people bite the offer to have a chance to win 1 million. But I think its best to give an incentives for each people who will get themselves vaccinated instead of conducting a lottery. I agree to that idea that each state should have come with that prize splitting so that the more the merrier for the winners. But if that's final and that's the decision that they've come up to encourage their citizens to take the vaccine. Now if some people are still reluctant to get the vaccines, then IMO they should not be forced. Around the world a lot of countries are facing shortage of vaccines and if any of the Americans don't want to be vaccinated, then their doses should be distributed to those in need.

I agree that if all doses of the vaccine are completed even if there is a shortage of the vaccine its spread will decrease. In many countries of the world even if the first dose is given many people are reluctant to take the second dose and the government will not be able to force them to vaccinate. Despite negatives thought about the offer, come to think outside the box. There are lots of vaccine doses available in the states that can accommodate all people there but some are still in doubt. In other countries such as India, there is a wild call that they really need a vaccine but lacking supply and these rich countries are overwhelming with supplies but some of their citizens don't want to be vaccinated. Vaccines are rolled out for several months now and the positivity rate is so high. If there's a complication, maybe the health of the person is involved and not directly because of the vaccine. Their citizens also have the freedom to choose their vaccine brand.

The indemnity agreements demanded by vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer and Moderna have triggered a lot of suspicion among the people. According to the agreements, the vaccine manufactures are not responsible for any adverse reaction resultant from the vaccine (including deaths). On top of that, they are not even responsible for negligence (even criminal negligence). So in future, if someone gets handicapped or undergoes a serious medical condition due to an adverse reaction to the vaccine, he won't be able to file a lawsuit against Pfizer or Moderna.

In an attempt to increase the number of people getting vaccinated all kind of incentives are being given in the US, one of the most interesting is that those that get at least the first dose of the vaccine at Ohio will have a chance to win one million dollars, apparently there will five be prizes so a total five million dollars will be given for those that are willing to take the vaccine, and for those that are below the age of 18 there will be full scholarships being offered as well.

The level of entitlement is surprising. First of all they are offering the vaccines for free. And remember that these vaccines are quite expensive. One dose of the Pfizer vaccine costs $37 and on top of that there are logistical complexities to take care of. Storage of the vaccine is very difficult, as it needs to be kept at extremely low temperatures. A large part of the tax revenue (which is affected by the economic downturn resulting from the pandemic) is going towards the vaccination program. And despite all this, people demand more and more freebies.

For some reason, your perception of vaccination is like the government gets some kind of benefit by vaccinating you. I mean what do they gain if you get vaccinated? Nothing. Still getting something for free just adds more value for you and gives you a reason to get vaccinated.

I have a neighbor who died after she get vaccinated and the family only received 1 sack of rice (50kg) and then forgotten that it happened. Even now in my country, if you get vaccinated you'll get money right after. Each people have different body and the immune system is also different because some are strong and some are weak.

50kg rice for a death sounds bizarre because they should rather be given some kind of financial help. Although as unfortunate as the incident is, I don't think the vaccine would have been the reason for her death and should that be the reason, the vaccine surely would have been replaced or put into review by the government and medical staff.

Some people are spreading fake news so please be aware of that too, one section of society for some reason doesn't want people to get vaccinated.

I think that with the gradual and increased vaccination the day will come when the population of those who have been vaccinated will be larger than those who have not.  And maybe at that time, they will regret that they did not get the vaccine earlier, where it is still free for the people to use and come to the point of having to pay for it.

This is a good idea. These type of stuff shows the difference between the rich nations and the poor nations. In my nation we are waiting for vaccination so that we could be vaccinated, I would go get ANY vaccination even the Chinese one if I can get it right now, literally would stop doing whatever I am doing and go get one as soon as possible if I had the chance, but I do not, and we are lacking vaccination which is why I am just waiting non-vaccinated and personally locked myself in my home for the past year.

the money to spent out for that kind of perks or some sort of promotion just to make people get interested on getting a vaccine then its not bad idea either but that would be more
sensible if they do really just let those funds to be put up in good use rather than on having this because this wont really be enough to convince the majority
