Right now people have a belief that someone is trying to support dogecoin. Also dogecoin seems to be a low price coin which is also getting more importance among the new investors into the market. In one way or other dogecoin will have its dependence over bitcoin.

So since the beginning of the launch of Bitcoin back in 2009, the poster did not realize that it was not supposed to be used as a collectible item to have informed us of this until now. Anyways I didn't bother to read the article because I really care less about what will be said and it is your choice to invest in whichever cryptocurrency you wish to without seeking anyone's advice cos it seems to me that you are seeking advice. Before the tweet, no one thought that investing in dogecoin was a thing but it is all I see these days.

It's not even a debate, bitcoin is much better than dogecoin in any ways. Dogecoin is just hyped at the moment because of what Elon Musk is doing and because of what he did on bitcoin. Later on, bitcoin will still continue on dominating the market and dogecoin might stay still on how it is at the moment and bitcoin will continue on soaring high as it recovers from the current issue. There's more to expect in bitcoin than dogecoin and even after many years, we will witness how powerful bitcoin is and how much of a failure dogecoin might probably be.

I'm still uncomfortable with BTC path/future. I mean, its main purpose is to serve as a currency, however, it is now being used as store of value.

As we all know, it's much cheaper to buy something with credit card (including currency conversion) than to buy with BTC and pay ridiculous high transaction fees. If this continues, how will BTC maintain its value if it lost its main purpose (serving as currency?) Or will it just become a collector's coin (something to brag about to the rich in the future having a BTC in your wallet?)

What if an altcoin pop-up with actual developers that can solve all of BTC issues? Then what will happen to BTC? This is my worry.

Just because there is a billionaire out there doing marketing about Dogecoin doesn't mean it will end up on how he told so.
Remember, there are billions of that coin in circulation and it started with a joke. Does that mean it will end in a serious way?

I think this is more about investing and making a profit. Dogecoin has always been a good coin to gamble because of their low level of transaction fee, it is nearly free compared to all other coins except maybe tron but the reality is that we have seen doge to become 4th biggest coin for a while and that should be the example why it is not doing that badly right now in the crypto market.

The reality is that we are talking about profit here and when we are talking about profit bitcoin is wildly better, not even close. Doge has always been something that went up only because of Elon and since he has shut up about crypto because of all the terribleness he has caused, I doubt that doge will go up again, which is why I think we should be buying bitcoin and not dogecoin right now if only thing we care about is to have more money in the end.

If you decide to buy dogecoin over bitcoin because of whatever you read, one question you should ask yourself is, is other people buying dogecoin for that same reason??? I guess not, have dogecoin gained more market capitalization over bitcoin in the past 2 months? I also guess not, then even with the pros of dogecoin over bitcoin, bitcoin still have the largest community of investors and supporters all over  the crypto currency world, what makes you think dogecoin will ever do better than bitcoin?
Even comparing dogecoin to bitcoin is also very absurb and a disrespect to the bitcoin community you claim to be part of, better buy what other people are buying, bitcoin, and make your profit when  more people come to buy that which many people are buying, same bitcoin.

Never take advice to get DOGE but currently if you see the price now it is in complete downtrend,,, I would set a buy order for 300 satoshi and wait for a pump to 400 to sell.

Anyone who says that doge "makes more sense logically" than bitcoin should either not have any investments in the world, or they should all-in to doge so that we would see them realize how wrong they were. With those numbers alone then you could actually tell the huge gap.

Despite all the negative side the article try to point out about btc, the level of acceptance keeps increasing, big institutions are not wasting time showing their interest to support btc, logically speaking, you should do a little research on that, see number of big institutions that have adopt btc so far and those that have adopt dogecoin and I believe it will give you some closure what the answer is

The article is just trying to get hits with traffic that's all and there's no need to doubt whether we choose Bitcoin or Doge. I'm sure why this forum is called BCT and not Dogetalk or something that represents the first crypto that Satoshi was developed. And it's clear that Bitcoin will stand alone with enough support of the people that's why we have this price right now. A meme coin won't ever get this level of price no matter how many years they operate. So, why choose altcoin(s) when there's Bitcoin already? I'm just telling this everything logically in case some of you got confused which to choose.

In every logic Bitcoin is superior then doge coin. In my point of view we can not compare these two coins with each other. Bitcoin is far ahead of Doge coin in every department. Bitcoin is king of cryptocurrency. Almost all exchanges around the world has startes with Bitcoin not Dogecoin. They have paired other coin with btc not with Doge. Btc volume is gaining daily by daily much more then doge. So there is no comparison.

Actually both coins are equally good for you as well as others, because you can put Dogecoin for short term holding while your Bitcoin can put it for long term holding, so in general both are equally good to have.

In terms of valuation i would always use Dogecoin than Bitcoin to gamble because i am not looking to make any huge profit, just wagging bets for fun and Dogecoin is a perfect coin to gamble   .

@OP Logically does anyone in the right sense compares BTCitcoin along with any other coin in the market, let alone comparing a coin who has copied the source code of BTCitcoin, technically Dogecoin copied the source code of Litecoin while Litecoin copied BTCitcoin  .

If you're thinking that bitcoin has become a collectible item over the years. That's a wrong mindset but we're all entitled to what with think about it.
Bitcoin has become a store of value for everyone and that's why everyone wants to hold it. There's nothing bad in holding/collecting it and that's the reason why many should hold it.
The lesser the supply it has then that the value of it gets to increase so if you still don't have it, you better have it.

As for me, Bitcoin is good in the long-term while dogecoin can be very profitable in a short term. So if you have this choice I would rather you bought Bitcoin for holding first of all, and then bought Dogecoin or any other shit coin for a short period of time, but you need to follow such projects so as to be aware of all news and sell if necessary.

Without answering of course most people already know if they have to choose, but for me as long as DOGE is still profitable then investing DOGE is a better thing than bitcoin, I make cryptocurrencies as daily trading and opportunities for daily profit are easier to get with DOGE.
