Hello everyone!
So I received my full package.
Here are the issues I have :
- The led mining in front of the miner is not working ( badly soldered ) but Thats not really an issue.
- The dashboard doesn’t show the informations says internal error fetching stats.
To see the stats you need to connect the unit on a screen And connect on the armbian  system.

Tips for those who wants to point it on mining rig rentals in the stratum information put the rig port instead of the standard port it seems to work. But i get a rental And the mining software seems to crash…

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

One question ...my node is synched. Now, if I download Bitcoin Core Wallet from the official repo and install it (of course point it to the correct directory), will it just read the status of the blockchain from there, or will it try to sync again...what I definitely don't want to happen ?!

You need to point the core wallet to /media/nvme/Bitcoin and shutdown the node before you start the wallet. The core wallet launches its own bitcoind and two cant be running at the same time.
So I presume this means it is running bitcoin core without a wallet and adding a wallet could be easier to just remove the -disablewallet (or the bitcoin.conf setting disablewallet=1)?
Or is it running bitcoin core with wallet code compiled out of it?
(Yes running a wallet on it does also have it's own issues ...)

I will also add that a miner and or node that automatically updates it's code from the internet, is a major security issue waiting to happen.

I'd imagine there's a notification to update, I doubt it would update automatically in the background. If it does I agree, self updates can be a security risk

mine has an update notice which i have left  alone for two days.

Curious, you got the first deliveries yeah? I assume you're running an earlier version of software. What version number is listed in the top right? Mine is v0.3.0

Just curious before I receive my batch 1 order - has anyone received the combo controller + standard units that actually work with no problems?

Bought two standard units.  I'm a linux amateur, probably should have bought a full unit.  Have been able to configure start_apollo.sh file and get one miner running.  Connected to a hackintosh running ubuntu.  I cannot figure out how to get second miner running.

./miner_start_all.sh returns "line 8: screen: command not found" two times, then says "Started."  Yet I can't see the worker in the pool, and red light stays solid.  How do I get the second miner running?  How do I open a second instance?

Appreciate any advice, but please talk slow for the dummy.

Also, was hoping to run each miner via its own rpi, but cannot find a way to run a stable 64-bit os on the rpis to install the 64-bit apollo software.  Is 32-bit coming?  Any suggestions for running these via rpi?  Appreciate the help.  Learning as I go but I have to start somewhere.

Thanks.

Chuck your IP in here https://canyouseeme.org/ and select port 8333. If it can see you, then the port is already forwarded. If not, you'll have to go into your router and forward the port yourself. Use google and search for your router and port forwarding settings to show you how if you don't know; it's very easy. But considering it's got 31/32 connections I'd say it's already forwarded.

As for the stats error, I don't get that but all my stats just say 0. It's a known issue and is being worked on

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help get my standard unit hooked up to my Ubuntu machine working.

I keep getting a "packet ignored" message:

I tried with a different cable on Ubuntu machine, and now I can see the USB device. However, when I start the miner, I get the same symptom as the windows box:
Code:

They did mention some HDMI monitors may not work due to a simple HDMI controller on the SBC. That's why I just hooked it up via ethernet and went in via the web GUI but some others have not been able to do so that way

Hey everyone. I just got my FutureBit a couple of days ago. Everything was going fine, until it started making loud grinding sounds today. I put in an email with the contact part of the website and DM'd John on Twitter. I figured I do my do diligence and post here for more exposure. I isolated the grinding to the raspberry pie cpu heatsink fan. Seems like it is a bad fan I guess. Do I need to send the model back for replacement? I'm having trouble finding returns info. =/

Thank you for the quick reply. I got a DM back from John suggesting similar. I tried various stages of tightening and then loosening, all leading to similar outcomes of grindy fan. He responded to my vids saying the sounds were not normal. Probably sending a replacement fan. I wonder if there are any other higher quality fans that it could be replaced with if it happens to be a common problem? It honestly looks like the fan casing is warping into an oval and causing issues with the fan blades.

Could just be a manufacturing defect; mine is whisper quiet and I just checked no warping either

... and now for a little but of fun Smiley

I can actually answer if the apollo is coded to be able to find blocks or not now.
Someone decided to risk testing it (solo) on KanoPool and take that risk for apollo.

But since most around here seem to think I don't know what I'm talking about, and various people like making false accusations about me, I'll leave it up to the people who sold you the software to verify it, as it should have been done in the first place.
