When I was a student at the university, other guys and I became addicted to playing poker right after class in the same auditorium where the lectures were.  This could be done and no one kicked us out because the employees and cleaners who had already kicked us out had not yet come.  Of course, the stakes were small, but tangible for the students.  And how much joy it was if you won.  Since then, almost always, when I sit down to play poker with friends, I remember those glorious times, carefree and funny. 
And this game with friends to students. 
This is why I love poker.

It's a very familiar story. My friends and I were spending our summer evenings playing poker when one of them bought a poker set. How surprised I was that he had spent a lot of money to buy that set. Playing poker with friends is fun but still, I personally feel a bit regretful when I think of those days. Lately I developed interest in dice and Scrabble games and it has really been fun most especially the Scrabble which tests knowledge about words. For me Scrabble is less of luck and more of your background on word formation.

For dice it's just been luck and probability. Despite my strategy it doesn't work out at all times but most of the times I get a win using my strategy.

Great that you developed your interest in poker from a positive space, rarely does this ever happen because most of the time when people gamble, they think about winning, interactions and friendships come second if not last. Although I do enjoy a friendly poker game with friends long as the stakes are not that high that I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about the losses I will incur tomorrow. In these types of games and interactions, friendships that last get established.

Betting on a team that you know will reduce the risk of your bet because the team you know or is in favor of has become a habit and it will no longer be awkward to bet.

Nowadays i am enjoying Horse racing , actually i grew up in a place where there are constant players/gamblers plays this but i denied learning .

Those old days coming back to my memories its part of it, but we didn't make it inside the school like playing poker but just having an Uno card is quite different from poker when you play but there's a chance you will put a bet on it. The university organization see this only as playing cards, but back to poker there's some regulation that gambling inside the school or having illegal activities is prohibited else there's sanctions.  This is the reason too why there are a lot of students want to play gambling because they see the potential of it to get more income.
