Well, that's the thing, People who experienced a win will have this appetite to continue without thinking what will happen next as long as they win. Sooner or later they are trapped, then a losing streak plays. Instead of slowing down, these types of people will go on and chase their losses. Which as a result they incur much more losses. The golden rule is meant to be broken by those irresponsible gamblers, as long as they can't control themselves they'll be in prison by guilt.

Though, as for me, I prefer card games especially Poker. I started playing when I was 14-15 years old, and honestly, I fell for it. Been playing since then, and to the point, I also broke the golden rule. But after that one hell of the scenario of my life, I vowed not to commit that again. Kinda disagree with Crash, I really like it tbh, it's pretty simply and yet enjoying imo. As for the old school ones though, gotta agree that those are pretty great. I do hope there could be more iterations of such games really, I know card games such as hearthstone (or any other iteration like that) exist, but it's mostly deck-based so it isn't really reliant on luck. I do hope there is something like poker or black jack where all players play around a single deck, and yet there could be a lot of methods or strategies to play with.

Both strategy and luck based games have their own pros and cons and some people like one over the other.

Crash lets you to cash out in any multiplier before the game crashed, can you do it in dice? No obviously.
Dice will only let you to set your multiplier before you bet, you can modify/change your target when the game is running.
