Most of the coins today are worthless or even abandoned by their owners, because there is no backup plan when investors are not interested in investing in them, so the devoleper doesn't care and let them die, therefore we have to choose the right coin if we want to invest in the long term, so that the capital we invest will get multiple profits at a later date

Very true and I totally agree with the poster, and I personally believe that at least, most of those investing in this shitcoins already know this, if we look back from 2015 to date, a lot of coins created in those times that were also very valuable in those times are already dead today, most have even been delisted on all the exchanges they were been traded upon and can't be found anywhere again again, coins like ATS, cartaxi, Pos token, and so many others are already dead, this is same way its going to be for several if not all the meme coins we have today, they are all gonna be dead in two or three years or even shorter from now, it's just like defi, several defi coins are dead already, it's only a matter of little time and all the meme coins will start dying one after the other too.

Yep. It's been like that already.
It could not be "scamcoin" like you mentioned but it can surely be a hype coin that would just dry out overnight that's why those coins you're identifying don't last that long even in simple discussion in here. They're just purely dumped after getting listed.
Come to think of it, there are just like 5 coins that I mostly stumble upon here in Altcoin Board that mostly gets discussion.

Yes that true. One example which I know is trump coin. It went high during trump regime and elections but now it's going down and chances are with time it will be worthless.

This is a normal scenario in this industry because there are lots of coins out there are just been created for pump and dump investment where when they are done with the other, they will create another and the list goes on. That's why research is a must for new investors and before they decide to pick up the coins they want to invest their money with, they need to check the hype if it's real or not. There will always be people who will be debbie downer, they will always talk about how it will be awful but the reality is that we are not going to see anything that is remotely this bad. Sure there will always be some horrible coins and that is going to not change anything, but the reality is that we are not going to see all coins great neither so there will be some horrible coins and there will be some great coins and there will be some average coins, that is how things are in the crypto world. There are some shitcoins, there are some bitcoins, learn to live with that.

You should invest into whatever you want to invest, there is nothing stopping you from investing into anything you want, only thing that matters is the fact that you need to end up money that you can afford to lose, do not invest money that you can't afford to lose, like do not put your rent money into crypto, but aside from that if you are fine with losing that money, just invest into anywhere you want.

Actually what is written in topic name is true. If  Bitcoin, number one crypto and most popular one is not adopted yet and not used as a regular payment. Then altcoins are far away from being used and demanded. Also, new alts appear everyday. They dont live long.

its only used on its own ecosystem atleast, holder can use their token that have many utility and no matter it will adopted or not as regular payment. altcoin with no utility will die immediately , no one can use this token and demand not created at all.

This is sad to be true for I have already experienced such thing a couple of times already that those valuable coins I do have from the recent years I have been into crypto were already worthless and it seems people have already forgotten about those coins. and this is where DYOR would really matter. This is indeed a risky market if you do make yourself get blinded with greed and desperation but if you do know on what you are doing
then you should be fine. Its a matter of profits or loss depending into your decision been made.

Even among the new projects that are coming online nowadays, I could notice new innovations in only a small number of coins. Remainder are mostly old wine in new bottle. And unfortunately, the bull run we had during the first few months of 2021 resulted in many of the worthless projects attaining crazy valuations. And despite the recent correction, many of them seems to be thriving.

That is sad thing to hear about that most of the coin we have is going to be worthless if not real, or if not being pump up as potential ones, even if you hold it for a year there still no guarantee of getting it high, all we can do is to really look for the possible coin and hopefully it will eventually become great one and make profit out of it.

There are literally hundreds of coins in the market. And it is very obvious that most of the those coins are shitcoins that will die soon. Most people know this, but they still invest in those coins. Just in case they get lucky. You either make some quick profit or you lose everything. Look at the market few years ago. See how many of those shitcoins survived. Almost none! Hence, if you are planning to hold long term, make sure you hold coins that are well developed.

That is why the best thing to do is to invest in coins that has a long term increasing and purpose like bitcoin and other coins that has real product and services.
