People who found this forum can get the right gambling site to play, but it will be difficult for people who do not know about this forum. They can get in the trap by the scammers who use a scam gambling or other site and offers them a big bonus to the newbie. They know how to treat the new player involved in the gambling industry, so they will not miss that and will use many ways to convince them to play on their site. Only be careful that we can do to avoid that sites always double check the site domain and else. Using VPN can help us avoid tracking from the scammers to be safe from them.

The problem is that you wouldn't know because even legitimate sites have been proven wrong, look at 1xbit, they were a trusted site back then but look what happened, they scammed a lot of people. My advice is to never put a lot of money when you are gambling because there will always be the chance that they will lock you out and you don't want to be locked out with a lot of money in your account.

Those pointers shared by the OP are actually common. Generally, those aren't just applied to online gaming but for our other private stuff as well.
The best security is still using our common sense. I hope newbies today aren't newbies in the past where everything is spoonfeed.

That is true. However, even if such rules are common and can be applied to at least anything, there are still people who fall in the same trap of scams in the internet. The best way in order to prevent from being scammed is by being vigilant by your personal information. Lots of phishing and fake websites cloaked themselves with 'legitimate' information but then are rotten to their very core. Remember, anything that exists in the internet is always prone to scamming. Prevention is always better than solving this problem; that is why you should always be vigilant and aware of the information you post on the internet.

If they have been in the industry for a long time I think they will be very careful with new or unknown online gambling sites and will do some detailed research before getting involved. And as I know, most of the people involved in online gambling scams come from social media, because it is very easy to find targets during a pandemic because they require income and are promised big profits and so on. so I think it is unlikely that those who have been on this forum for a long time will easily get involved with a scam gambling site, unless they are very new or newbies.

There's a lot of scams lately including which majority are in email phishing honestly turning 2fa was really a good way to make your account much secured. The tips you have given was good but even if all these were already followed let's make sure to be more observant we are not sure what or when the scammers will attack.
ya.ya.yo!
It is not really a secret why we are seeing more attempts to scam people online out of their coins, one of those reasons is the bull market that we saw that made money to a lot of people, scammers want some of that money and they are willing to do anything to get it, another reason is that due to the pandemic gambling got more popular than ever which meant that they could send those messages to a list of bitcoin holders knowing they will get a lot of interest and as long as 1% of the people fell in the scam they will make a lot of money for almost no effort.

My email is also full of links from scammers, I just 'ignore it'... Those who like to gamble and register a lot on various gambling sites will often get emails from fraudsters. before opening the word, it is better to check carefully whether it comes from the gambling site that you are following. agree with number 5, using 2fa authentication is absolutely mandatory. When using up emails then it should really be a new one and not your main emails because this would be a common thing where you do receive lots of spams and scam attempts when your email got exposed since you wouldn't able to track on where you had been used it. When it comes to 2fa then it should be a standard thing but majority of us do really just neglect out this basic security which would be helpful for you on not to get hacked. better use a different email when you are signing up in gambling sites. not your main/personal email. nowadays, it is easy to create email. so should not be a problem. most users will only apply 2fa when their account is hacked or of that sort. which is really not a good practice. better secure your account all the time. you'll never know when scammers will attack your account. also, make sure that the emails that you are opening are coming from official sites, most of them are phishing sites luring you for too-good-to-be-true offers/rewards. 2fa is a must but most of the time when it regards to my gambling account then I don't usually put up 2fa because once I do leave out the website I had already no balance on it. I never intend to leave out the site if there are funds left on it unless if I do decide to go back or take some break then continue to play later on. Im always anticipating nor expecting that things will be always lose in the end but eventually there are really times which I do make profits.

Yeah, these gambling ads can be annoying, and, sure thing, many scams in there. That's why not only I don't respond to these emails, click on the links, but I don't even open them. Why bother? If I want to find an online gambling platform I do my own research, no need for these always good-looking ads. Also, if I see something like that I always mark it as "spam". As a result, many similar emails in the future go to the "spam" automatically. This makes things a lot easier.

The world is moving to a digital age at a very fast rate and extra precautions should be put in everything we do one.
An addition to that list should never to reuse the same password more than once, 2fa should be a must. I also know most of us love to hide our identity and to some length we use vpns but truth is some of these actually expose our identity if you must use a premium VPN.

Lol, all those points are so obvious. You have to be really stupid (or careless) to fall for those scams. I mean if someone emails you or messages you and asks for your personal information and sensitive datas, and you send it to them, then sorry to say, but you deserve to get scammed. I mean this is going to be a lesson for you. I am sure once you get scammed like this, you won't fall for it. Expensive lesson, but totally worth it. Again, if someone uses weak password and doesn't use extra layer of security, then its like that guy is begging to get hacked. -snip- 7. Avoid using debit cards for purchases. This is because credit cards normally offer greater security protections. -snip-
This one I doubt. All cards have equal security. I don't think debit cards are less secure than credit cards. That would be a big issue.

Good thing I don't click or entertain any emails I receive since I don't care much about them I only open the emails that I need. We should really be careful right now I think the number of scammer are increasing because they are too desperate to earn easy money or to survive, But there are always a way for everyone to earn honestly without taking advantage of other people, I just don't get it why they are choosing to scam rather than earn honestly.

Not necessarily for you to get scammed first just for you to learn because we can eventually avoid these things if we are really just using up our own common sense and doesnt really let yourself fall into those obvious scam attempts. It doesnt really need to be an obvious one since scamming schemes now are bit tricky and really believable and this is why you should really be careful on dealing up with things. Setting security measures that would help out on avoiding yourself on getting scammed or hack. Scammers or hackers are just lurking in the dark and just finding out ways to scam out someone which do looks innocent in all aspects.

I'm like you, only open the emails that I need. Because if an unknown email comes in, I usually ignore it. Because I know a lot of victims of scammers are not careful with clicks and are attracted to offers from unknown emails. Actually why do some people choose the path of making money by deceiving other people rather than making money honestly, that's because tricking other people is usually easier. And being able to get a lot of money than we have to run an honest way to make money requires a lot more effort.

So far never been into scam because I only use gambling sites that are trusted and never ever goes onto sites that are new without some good reviews especially in this forum. Here's a few tips on my end:
* Use sites that proven trusted. * Secure your accounts. * Don't be too quick to click unidentified emails or too good to be true kind of emails. * Bookmark those trusted sites.

Practicing safety precautions online or offline is a must. Personal identification should be always remain secured since scammers are always creative and they always find new ways to scam people. I never entertain unsolicited messages and never open unknown links online especially when I am using my phone. With just one wrong click all your personal information, credentials and a lot more can be accessed by other people. Even when trying new website I always have a certain alt e-mail for it for security purpose.

The more safest thing we need to do to be away on online gaming scam is to play only on the gambling site which is recputable, recommended and been tested by many gamblers for so many years. We have that here and exploring to play due to promotions given is so dangerous so to avoid any sort of troubles might come stick with oldies since they will offer the same gaming experience to us.

Personally I don't respond to mails I didn't subscribe to because I know a true website would just bumb into your personal mail without you subscribing to it. But most times the content of this scam sites gets too tempting and would require extreme carefulness and dicipline to over look such adverts before been scammed.

The best is to not use your original email to register on many other sites if possible you got no option than to register. I can not get crypto related email messages because I use completely different email for crypto and I have many of the emails. Though phishing is not necessarily only on crypto emails, that is why we need to also be careful of our email account. Nothing is tempting for people that also known a scam phishing emails, they will not even bother to click on it. Like me, I do neglect many email messages while some might be phishing attempts.

But even reputable sites did become scams in the long run, look at 1xbit, pretty sure that they didn't start as a scam website for their ANN thread to last this long because they were once legitimate, my advice is to find out the reputation of the website that you are trying to play on and look if there are tell tale signs from the review if they were fabricated or legitimate.
